On Board Diagnostics Data LinkConnector
WARNING: Do not connect wirelessplug-in devices to the data link connector.Unauthorized third parties could gainaccess to vehicle data and impair theperformance of safety related systems.Only allow repair facilities that follow ourservice and repair instructions to connecttheir equipment to the data link connector.
Your vehicle has an OBD Data LinkConnector (DLC) that is used in conjunctionwith a diagnostic scan tool for vehiclediagnostics, repairs and reprogrammingservices. Installing an aftermarket device thatuses the DLC during normal driving forpurposes such as remote insurance companymonitoring, transmission of vehicle data toother devices or entities, or altering theperformance of the vehicle, may cause
interference with or even damage to vehiclesystems. We do not recommend or endorsethe use of aftermarket plug-in devices unlessapproved by Ford. The vehicle Warranty willnot cover damage caused by an aftermarketplug-in device.
MOBILE COMMUNICATIONS
EQUIPMENT
WARNING: Driving while distractedcan result in loss of vehicle control, crashand injury. We strongly recommend thatyou use extreme caution when using anydevice that may take your focus off theroad. Your primary responsibility is the safeoperation of your vehicle. We recommendagainst the use of any hand-held devicewhile driving and encourage the use ofvoice-operated systems when possible.Make sure you are aware of all applicablelocal laws that may affect the use ofelectronic devices while driving.
Using mobile communications equipment isbecoming increasingly important in theconduct of business and personal affairs. However, you must not compromise yourown or others’ safety when using suchequipment. Mobile communications canenhance personal safety and security whenappropriately used, particularly in emergencysituations. Safety must be paramount whenusing mobile communications equipment toavoid negating these benefits. Mobilecommunication equipment includes, but isnot limited to, cellular phones, pagers,portable email devices, text messagingdevices and portable two-way radios.

Seek, Fast Forward and Reverse:In radio mode, press either buttonto scroll through the presets fromthe front radio. To select a radiostation, press and hold to movequickly forward or backward

through the radio stations. In CDor USB mode, press to select thenext or previous track. Press andhold to move quickly forward orbackward through the selectedmedia source.
Vol and Power: Turn to adjust thevolume. Press to switch the systemon and off.

Press the up and down arrow buttons toscroll through the options.
Press the right arrow to enter a menu. Pressthe left arrow to exit a menu.
Press OK to confirm a selection.
Radio
Use the left and right arrows to go up or down the frequency band.Manual Tune
Select for a brief sampling of all available channels.Scan
Select to store the six strongest local stations on the AM-AST and FM-AST frequency bands.AST
Select to have the system search by certain music categories (such as Rock, Pop or Country).Set Category for Seek/Scan
Select to view additional broadcast data, if available. This feature defaults to off. RBDS must be on for you toset a category.RDS Text Display

Onboard Modem Serial Number (ESN)
Selecting this button on the settings menushows you the ESN number for your system.You need this number for certainregistrations such as Satellite Radio.
