4. Open the trunk lid and remove thetrunk mat.

7. Open the cap of the DEF filler port.

8. Remove the cap of a bottle containingDEF, insert the bottle into the DEF
filler port, and screw it in lightly until
it stops.

CAUTION
If too much DEF is added, the SCR
system might display a warning.
Contact an Authorized Mazda Dealer if
a warning is displayed. If the warning
remains displayed, the urea tank may
have a problem or it may be damaged.

NOTE
If excessive force is applied when
pressing in the bottom of the bottle,
the bottle or the DEF filler port may
be damaged.
When the urea tank is full, stop
adding DEF because the flow from
the bottle slows down by the bottle's
auto-stop function. If you continue
adding DEF, the urea tank will
overfill.
9. Press in the bot tom of the bottle
straight and add DEF.

10. Remove the bottle in the reverse order
of the insertion. At th is time, be careful
of DEF dripping from the bottle.
11. Tighten the cap o f the DEF filler port
until you hear 2 or more click sounds.
12. Close the cover securely.

If the cover is not closed securely,
water or exhaust gas from the
service hole may penetrate the trunk.
13. Switch the ignition ON once.
14. Check the following while the vehicle
is stopped.
The DEF level warning indication is
not displayed on the
multi-information display.
The DEF level (%) indication on the
multi-information display shows an
increase.

4. Turn the screw counterclockwise andremove it, and then partially peel back
the mudguard.
5. Turn the socket and bulb assemblycounterclockwise and remove it.
6. Disconnect the bulb from the socket.
7. Install the new bulb in the reverse order of the removal procedure.

The LED bulb cannot be replaced as a
single unit because it is an integrated unit.
The LED bulb has to be replaced with the
unit. We recommend an Authorized
Mazda Dealer when the replacement is
necessary.

1. Wrap a small flathead screwdriver with
a soft cloth to prev ent damage to the
lens, and then remove the lens by
carefully prying on the edge of the lens
with the flathead screwdriver.

3. Install the new bulb in the reverseorder of the removal procedure.
Trunk light (Bulb type)
1. Press both sides o f the lens cap to
remove it.
2. Disconnect the bulb by pulling it out.
3. Install the new bulb in the reverseorder of the removal procedure.
Fuses
Your vehicle's electrical system is
protected by fuses.

If any lights, accessories, or controls do
not work, inspect th e appropriate circuit
protector. If a fuse h as blown, the inside
element will be melted.

If the same fuse blows again, avoid using
that system and consult an Authorized
Mazda Dealer as soon as possible.

To remove the jack
1. Remove the trunk mat.

3. Remove the pocket.

4. Turn the wing bolt and jack screwcounterclockwise.

To secure the jack
1. Insert the wing bolt into the jack with the jack screw pointing to the front and
turn the wing bolt clockwise to
temporarily tighten it.
2. Turn the jack screw in the direction
shown in the figure.

3. Turn the wing bolt completely to secure the jack.
NOTE
If the jack is not completely secured, it
could rattle while driving. Make sure the
jack screw is sufficiently tightened.
Maintenance
Always keep the jack clean.
Make sure the moving parts are kept
free from dirt or rust.
Make sure the screw thread is
adequately lubricated.

▼Spare Tire
Your Mazda has a temporary spare tire.
The temporary spare tire is lighter and
smaller than a conventional tire, and is
designed only for emergency use and
should be used only for VERY short
periods. Temporary spare tires should
NEVER be used for long drives or
extended periods.
WA R N I N G
Do not install the temporary spare tire on
the front wheels (driving wheels):
Driving with the temporary spare tire on
one of the front driving wheels is
dangerous. Handling will be
affected. You
could lose control of the vehicle, especially
on ice or snow bound roads, and have an
accident. Move a regular tire to the front
wheel and install the temporary spare tire
to the rear.
CAUTION
 When using the temporary spare tire,
driving stability may decrease compared
to when using only the conventional tire.
Drive carefully.
 To avoid damage to the temporary spare
tire or to the vehicle, observe the
following precautions:
 Do not exceed 80 km/h (50 mph).
 Avoid driving over obstacles. Also, do
not drive through an automatic car
wash. This tire's diameter is smaller
than a conventional tire, so the ground
clearance is reduced.
 Do not use a tire chain on this tire
because it will not fit properly.
Do not use your temporary spare tire
on any other vehicle, it has been
designed only for your Mazda.
 Use only one temporary spare tire on
your vehicle at the same time.
To remove the spare tire
1. Remove the trunk mat.

2. Turn the spare tire hold-down boltcounterclockwise.

Store the spare tire in the reverse order of
removal. After storing, verify that the
spare tire is stored securely.

▼Locking Lug Nuts
If your Mazda is equipped with the
optional antitheft whe
el lug nuts, a special
key must be used to unlock the locking lug
nut for each wheel. The key is stored in
the glove compartmen t, center console
storage, storage box, or trunk. Register the
key and lug nuts with the lock
manufacturer by filling out the registration
card and mailing it in using the
accompanying envelope. If the key is lost,
consult an Authorized Mazda Dealer or
use the lock manufacturer’s order form to
order a new key.
Antitheft wheel lug nuts cannot be
installed on a steel wheel spare tire. When
installing a temporary spare tire, use one
of the original lug nuts in place of the
locking lug nut. The original lug nuts are
stored inside your Mazda.

To remove an antitheft lug nut
1. Obtain the special key for the antitheft
lug nut.
2. Place the special key on top of the antitheft lug nut, and be sure to hold
the key square to it. If you hold the key
at an angle, you may damage both key
and nut. Do not use a power impact
wrench.
3. Place the lug wrench on top of the key and apply pressure. Turn the wrench
counterclockwise.
To install the antitheft lug nut
1. Place the special key on top of the nut, and be sure to hold the key square to it.
If you hold the key at an angle, you
may damage both key and nut. Do not
use a power impact wrench.
2. Place the lug wrench on top of the
special key, apply pressure, and turn it
clockwise.
