MAZDA RADAR CRUISE CONTROL (MRCC) SYSTEM
The MRCC system maintains vehicle speed and f\Xollowing distance using a radar sensor
to detect a vehicle ahead. The driver simply presets the vehicle speed between 19 mph
and 90 mph and the\X system will maintain a safe following distance without having to turn the cruise control off.
SETTING THE MRCC:
When the MODE switch is pushed, the
vehicle speed and t\.he distance between
vehicles while in headway control can be
set. The MR\b\b indication is shown in the
Active Driving Display.
NOTE: The radar for the MR\b\b is located
behind the Mazda emblem in the g\.rille.
Keep this area clean to avoid the system
not working properly.
How to set the speed:
1 Adjust the vehicle to the desired speed using the\. accelerator pedal.
2
Push the \fET + or \f\.ET – switch. The set speed and the in\.ter-vehicle distance display
filled with white lines are displayed in the Active Driving Display and the MR\b\b indicator light (green) turns on simultaneously.

BLIND SPOT MONITORING (BSM)
The BSM system is designed to assist the driver by monitoring blind spots on the left
and right sides of the vehicle in certain situations, such as lane chan\Xges.
•
The B\fM detects vehicles approaching from the rear while traveling in
the forward direction at a speed \.of 6.3 mph or more and notifies the
driver by turning on the B\fM w\.arning indicator light and displaying the vehicle detection screen (vehicles with Active Driving Display).
•
If the turn signal lever is operated to signal a turn in the direction
in which the B\fM warning indicator light is illuminated while the
approaching vehicle is detected, the B\fM warns the driver by turning on the B\fM warning indicator light, and by activating the warning sound and
the warning screen indicator display
(vehicles with Active Driving Display).
•
The detection area on this system
covers the driving lane\.s on both sides
of the vehicle and from the rear part
of the front doors to about 164 ft behind the vehicle.
• B\fM sensors are located under the
left and right rear bumper areas.
The B\fM system may not operate properly if the rear bumper is dirty,
so keep the rear bumper area clean
and free of bumper stickers.
NOTE:
•
The B\fM can assist the driver in confirming the safety
of the surroundings, but is not a complete substitute.
•
The driver is responsible for ensuring safe lane changes
and other maneuvers.
•
Always pay attention to the direction in which th\.e vehicle
is traveling and the vehicle’s surroundings.
Turning BSM System Off:
Turning the B\fM system off will turn off both the light and sound indicators. To turn the B\fM system off, push the B\fM OFF \.switch on the dash.
The B\fM OFF indicator in the instrument cluster will turn on to indicate the B\fM system is off.
NOTE: Turning the B\fM system off will also turn off the Rear \bross Traffic Alert system.
BLIND \fPOT MONITORING \fY\fTEM
WARNING:
B\fM is only a
supplementary
system to help
aid in monitoring
blind spots;
however, B\fM
has limitations.
The system may
not detect all
vehicles, especially
a motorcycle. Do
not rely solely on
the B\fM. Relying
solely on the
B\fM may cause
an unexpected
accident resulting
in death or serious
injury. Make sure
to look over your
shoulder before
changing lanes.
