6. When the selector lever is shifted from reverse (R) to another selector lever position, the
screen returns to the previous display.
N O T E
Because there may be a difference between the displayed image, such as indicated below,
and the actual conditions when parking, always verify the safety at the rear of the vehicle
and the surrounding area directly with your eyes.
y In the image of the parking space (or garage) displayed on the screen, the back end and
distance guide lines may appear aligned in the monitor, but they may not actually be
aligned on the ground.
y When parking in a space with a division line on only one side of the parking space, the
division line and the vehicle width guide line appear aligned in the monitor, but they may
not actually be aligned on the ground.

Variance Between Actual Road Conditions and Displayed Image
Some variance occurs between the actual road and the displayed road. Such variance in
distance perspective could lead to an accident. Note the following conditions that may cause
a variance in distance perspective.
When the vehicle is tilted due to the weight of passengers and load
When the vehicle rear is lowered, the object displayed on the screen appears farther than the
actual distance.

When there is a steep upgrade (downgrade) behind the vehicle, the object displayed on the
screen appears farther (downgrade: closer) than the actual distance.

Three-dimensional object on vehicle rear
Because the distance guide lines are displayed based on a À at surface, the distance to the
three-dimensional object displayed on the screen is different from the actual distance.

Picture Quality Adjustment
WARNING
Always adjust the picture quality of the rear view monitor while the vehicle is stopped:
Do not adjust the picture quality of the rear view monitor while driving the vehicle.
Adjusting the picture quality of the rear view monitor such as brightness, contrast, color,
and tint while driving the vehicle is dangerous as it could distract your attention from the
vehicle operation which could lead to an accident.
Picture quality adjustment can be done while the selector lever is in reverse (R).
There are four settings which can be adjusted including, brightness, contrast, tint, and color.
When adjusting, pay suf ¿ cient attention to the vehicle surroundings.
1. Select the icon on the screen to display the tabs.
2. Select the desired tab item.
3. Adjust the brightness, contrast, tint, and color using the slider.
If you need to reset, press the reset button.
4. Select the
icon on the screen to close the tab.

By pressing the AUTO switch the

controlled in accordance with the selected
set temperature:

N O T E
AUTO switch indicator light
y When on, it indicates auto operation,
and the system will function
automatically.
y If any of the following switches are
operated while in auto control, the
AUTO switch indicator turns off.
y Mode selector switch
y Fan control switch
y Windshield defroster switch
The functions for switches other than
those operated in the above continue
to operate in auto control.

OFF switch
Pressing the OFF switch shuts off the
climate control system.
Temperature control dial
This dial controls temperature. Turn it
clockwise for hot and counterclockwise
for cold.
y When the DUAL switch is off:
Turn the driver temperature control dial
to control the temperature throughout
the entire cabin.
y When the DUAL switch is on:
Turn the driver or front passenger
temperature control dial to
independently control the temperature
on each side of the cabin.
N O T E
y The climate control system changes to
the individual operation mode ( DUAL
switch indicator light illuminated) by
turning the front passenger temperature
control dial even when the DUAL switch
is off, which allows individual control
of the set temperature for the driver and
front passenger.
y The temperature units for the
temperature setting display can be
changed in conjunction with the
temperature units for the outside
temperature display. Refer to Outside
Temperature Display on page 4-18 .
Fan control switch
The fan has seven speeds. The selected
speed will be displayed.
Mode selector switch
The desired air À ow mode can be selected
(page 5-4 ).
N O T E
y With the air À ow mode set to the
position and the temperature control
dial set at a medium temperature,
heated air is directed to the feet and air
at a comparably lower temperature will
À ow through the central, left and right
vents.
y To set the air vent to , press the
windshield defroster switch.
y In the or position, the air
conditioner is automatically turned on
and the outside air position is
automatically selected to defrost the
windshield. In the
or position, the
outside air position cannot be changed
to the recirculated air position.
A/C switch
Pressing the A/C switch while the AUTO
switch is turned on will turn off the air-
conditioning (cooling/dehumidifying
functions).
The air-conditioning can be turned on and
off by pressing the A/C switch while the
fan control switch is on.
N O T E
y The air-conditioning operates when the
A/C switch is pressed even if the fan is
off.
y The air conditioner may not function
when the outside temperature
approaches 0 °C (32 °F).

Rear switch
Press the rear switch to operate the rear
air-conditioning.
The indicator illuminates to indicate that
the rear air-conditioning is operating.
AUTO switch
By pressing the AUTO switch the
following functions will be automatically
controlled in accordance with the set
temperature:
y Air À ow temperature
y Amount of air À ow
y Selection of air À ow mode
OFF switch
Pressing the OFF switch shuts off the
climate control system.
Temperature control switch
This switch controls temperature. Press
for hot and
for cold.
Fan control switch
The fan has ¿ ve speeds. The selected
speed will be displayed.
Mode selector switch
The desired air À ow mode can be selected.
Refer to Selecting the Air À ow Mode on
page 5-10 .
Operation of Automatic Air-
conditioning
Operation from front seats
1. Turn the front air-conditioning on.
2. Press the rear switch. The rear air-
conditioning operates.
3. Selection of the air À ow mode, air À ow
amount and temperature will be
automatically controlled to the same
temperature setting as the front air
conditioner for the driver's side.
N O T E
y If the AUTO switch is pressed while the
front A/C switch is off, the rear air-
conditioning operates only to circulate
a i r .
y Setting the temperature to the maximum
high or low will not provide the desired
temperature at a faster rate.
y When selecting heat, the system will
restrict air À ow until it has warmed to
prevent cold air from blowing out of the
vents.
y When the rear air conditioner is
controlled to the same temperature
setting as the front air conditioner for
the driver's side, “SYNC” is displayed
on the rear screen.

Operation from rear seats
1. Turn the front air-conditioning on.
2. Press the AUTO switch. The selection
of the air À ow mode and air À ow amount
will be automatically controlled.
3. Use the temperature control switch to
set the desired temperature.

y If the AUTO switch is pressed while the
front A/C switch is off, the rear air-
conditioning operates only to circulate
a i r .
y Setting the temperature to the maximum
high or low will not provide the desired
temperature at a faster rate.
y When selecting heat, the system will

vents.
y When the rear air conditioner is

Audio Set has three different human interfaces.

y Voice recognition with steering switch and microphone

For safety reasons, some operations are disabled while the vehicle is being driven.
Volume dial operation
Volume dial
Press the volume dial to switch the audio MUTE on and off.
Turn the volume dial to adjust the volume. The volume increases by turning the dial
clockwise, and decreases by turning it counterclockwise.
