In general, there adout is per form ed via the legally
prescribed port forth e diagnostics connection in
th eve hicle. The operational data that are read out
document tech nical states of theve hicle or of
individual components and assist in the diagnosis
of malfunctions, compliance with warranty obli ga-

data, in particular information about component
loads, tech nical events, malfunctions and other

th ermore, the manufacturer is subject toproduct
liability. Forth is reason the manufacturer also
uses operational data from theve hicle, fore xa m-

When theve hicle nears an event, ECO Assist will
calculate the optimal speed for maximum fuel
economy and recuperative energy based on the
distance, speed and gradient. The "Foot o. the
accelerator" symbol 3will appear on the inst ru-

If yo uta ke your foot o. the accelerator pedal in

ECO Assist can function even more precisely if
th ero ute is adhered towhen routeguidance is
active. The basic function is also available without
active route guidance. Not all information and
tra1c situations can be fore seen. The quality
depends on the map data.
ECO Assist is only an aid. The driver is responsible
fo rke eping a safe distance from theve hicle in
front, forve hicle speed and for braking in good
time. The driver must be ready tobrake at all times, ir
respecti veof whe ther the system inter-

mination of thero ad, highly variable shade
conditions, rain, sno w,fog or heavy spr ay.
