6 Pullout the two fuses marke d"MOTOR
NO TAU S"on thef use cha rtusing the
fu se extra ctor.
The engine switches off.
To resta rtthe engine:

lant temp eratu reof ove r+120 °Cis
displ ayed. The coolant
leve lis too low. The coo lant is
too hot andt he engine isno long er being
co oled sufficie ntly. 6

6 Check the coolan t le vel.Ob serve the
warning notes asyou do so and top up

Fuses
The
fuses inyour vehicle se rveto clo se
down faulty circuits. If afuse blows ,all
co mp onentso n the circuitan d their func-
tion swil lfa il.
i Blown fuses mustbe replaced byfuses of
th e sa meratin g(id entifiable bythe co lourand
amperage) and with th e amperages spe cified in
th e fuse alloc ationchart .A Me rcedes-Benz
Ser vice Centre will be happy toadvise you. If
anew lyfitted fuse blows ,have the cause
tra cedan d rectified at aqualified specialist
wor ksho p, e.g. a Mercedes -Ben zSe rvice
Centr e.
Th efo llowing implem entsare avai lable for
chang ing the fuses:

! Spare fuses
! Fuse extra ctor
! Only use fuses that have been approved for
Me rced es- Benz vehicles andwh ich ha ve theco r-
re ct amperag efor the system concerned. Othe r-
wis e, el ectrical comp onent sor systems could be
damag ed.
! Switchoff the in ternal fu nctions of thevehi-
cl e ne twork ( =page 495 ) before wor king with
fuses.
