Your attention must always be focused on the
traffic conditions. Only usethe cigarette
lighterwhen road and traffic conditions
permit.
XTurn the SmartKey to position2in the
ignition lock (Ypage 147).
XTo open:briefly press the trim on
cover .
The stowage compartmentopens.
XPress in cigarette lighter .
Cigarettelighter will pop out
automatically when the heatingelementis
red-hot.

General notes
XTurn theSmartKey to position1in the
ignitionlock (Ypage 147).
The socketscan be used for accessories with
amaximum draw of 180W(15 A).
Accessories include such items as lamps or
chargers for mobile phones.
If you use the socketsfor long periods when
the engine is switched off, the battery may
discharge.
iAn emergencycut-out ensures that the
on-board voltage does not drop too low. If
the on-board voltage is too low, the power
to the socketsisautomatically cut. This
ensures that there is sufficient power to
start the engine.

XOpen the stowage compartment under the
armrest (Ypage 280).
XLift up the cover of socket .
Socket in the front-compartment center
console
All vehicles (except AMG)
XTo open:slide cover forwards until it
engages.
XLift up the cover of socket .
XTo close:briefly press cover at the
front.
The cover moves back.

RGPS reception is available.

The mbrace system
To adjust the volume duringacall, proceed
as follows:
XPress the or button on the
multifunction steering wheel.
or
XUse the volume controller of the audio
system/COMAND.
The system offers various services, e.g:
RAutomatic and manual emergency call
RRoadside Assistancecall
RMB Info call

System self-test
After you have switched on the ignition, the
system carries outaself-diagnosis.
Amalfunction in thesystem has been
detected if oneofthefollowingoccurs:
RThe indicator lamp in theSOS button does
notcomeonduringthesystem self-test.
RThe indicator lamp in the Roadside
Assistancebuttondoes not light up during
self-diagnosis of the system.
RThe indicator lamp in the MB Info call
button does not light up during self-
diagnosis of the system.
RThe indicator lamp in one or more of the
following buttonscontinues to light up red
after the system self-diagnosis:
-SOS button
- Roadside Assistance call button
- MB Info call button
Rafter the system self-diagnosis, the
InoperativeorService Not
Activatedmessage appears in the
multifunction display.
Ifamalfunction is indicated as outlined
above, the system may not operate as
expected. In the event of an emergency, help
will have to be summoned by other means.

Triggeringthe vehicle alarm
With thisfunction, youcan triggerthe
vehicle's panic alarm via text message. An
alarm sounds and the exterior lighting
flashes. Depending on the setting, the panic
alarm lasts five or ten seconds. Afterwards,
the alarm switches off.
Garage door opener
Important safety notes
GWARNING
When you operate or program the garage door
with the integrated garage door opener,
persons in the range of movement of the
garage door can become trapped or struck by
the garage door. There isarisk of injury.
When using the integrated garage door
opener, always make sure that nobody is
within the rangeofmovementofthe garage
door.
GWARNING
Combustion engines emit poisonous exhaust
gases such as carbonmonoxide. Inhaling
these exhaust gases leads to poisoning. There
isarisk of fatal injury. Therefore never leave
the engine runninginenclosed spaces
without sufficient ventilation.
The HomeLink®garage door opener
integrated in the rear-view mirror allows you
to operate up to three different door and gate
systems.
Use the integrated garage door opener only
on garage doors that:
Rhave safety stop and reverse features and
Rmeet current U.S. federal safety standards
When programmingagarage door opener,
park the vehicle outside the garage.
iCertain garage door drives are
incompatible with the integrated garage
door opener. If you have difficulty
programming the integrated garage door
opener, contact an authorized Mercedes-
Benz Center.
