wheels mounted must be equipped with
functioning sensors.
Wheel and tirecombinations
General notes
!For safety reasons, Mercedes-Benz
recommends that you only use tires and
wheels which have been approved by
Mercedes-Benz specifically for your
vehicle.
These tires have been specially adapted for
use with the control systems, such as ABS
or ESP®,and are marked as follows:
RMO=Mercedes-BenzOriginal
RMOE=Mercedes-BenzOriginal Extended
(tires featuring run-flat characteristics)
RMO1=Mercedes-Benz Original (only
certain AMG tires)
Mercedes-BenzOriginal Extended tires
may only be usedonwheels that have been
specifically approved by Mercedes-Benz.
Only use tires, wheels or accessories
tested and approved by Mercedes-Benz.
Certain characteristics, e.g. handling,
vehiclenoise emissions or fuel
consumption, may otherwise be adversely
affected. In addition, when driving with a
load, tire dimension variations couldcause
the tires to come into contact with the
bodywork and axle components. This could
result in damage to the tires or the vehicle.
Mercedes-Benz accepts no liability for
damage resulting from the use of tires,
wheels or accessories other than those
tested and approved.
Information on tires, wheels and approved
combinations can be obtained from any
qualified specialist workshop.
Overviewofabbreviations usedinthe
following tire tables:
RBA: both axles
RFA: front axle
RRA: rear axle
The recommended pressures for various
operating conditionscan be found:
Ron the Tire and Loading Information placard
with the recommended tire pressures on
the B-pillar on the driver's side
Rin the tire pressure table on the inside of
the fuel filler flap
Observe the notes on recommended tire
pressures under various operating conditions
(Ypage 338).
Check tire pressures regularly, and only when
the tires are cold. Comply with the
maintenancerecommendations of the tire
manufacturer in the vehicle document wallet.
Notes on the vehicle equipment–always
equip the vehicle with:
Rtires of the same size onagiven axle (left/
right)
Rthe same type of tires atagiven time
(summer tires, winter tires, MOExtended
tires)
Vehicles with MOExtendedtires are not
equipped withaTIREFIT kit at the factory. It
is therefore recommendedthat you
additionally equip your vehicle withaTIREFIT
kit if you mounttires that do not feature run-
flat properties,e.g. winter tires.ATIREFIT kit
may be obtained fromaqualified specialist
workshop.
iNot all wheeland tire combinations are
available at the factory for all countries.
iOn the following pages, you can find
information on approved wheelrims and
tiresizesfor equipping your vehicle with
winter tires. Winter tires are not available

The engine oils are matched to the
performance of Mercedes-Benz engines and
service intervals. You should therefore only
use engine oils and oil filters that are
approved for vehicles with maintenance
systems.
Foralist of approved engine oils and oil filters,
consult an authorized Mercedes-Benz
Center. Or visit the website
http://bevo.mercedes-benz.com.
The table shows which engine oils have been
approved for your vehicle.

iMB approval is indicated on the oil
containers.
Fillingcapacities
The following values refer to an oil change
including the oil filter.

for AMG vehicles)
8.5 US qt (8.0 l)
All models (AMG
vehicles)
With external oil
cooler: 9.0 US qt

Additives
!Do not use any additives in the engine oil.
This coulddamage the engine.
Engine oil viscosity
Viscosity describes the flow characteristics
ofafluid. If an engine oil hasahigh viscosity,
this means that it is thick;alow viscosity
means that it is thin.
Select an engine oil with an SAE classification
(viscosity) suitable for the prevailing outside
temperatures. The table showsyou which
SAE classifications are to be used. The low-
temperature characteristics of engine oils
can deteriorate significantly, e.g. asaresult
of aging, soot and fuel deposits. It is therefore
strongly recommendedthat you carry out
regular oil changes using an approved engine
oil with the appropriate SAE classification.
Brake fluid
GWARNING
The brake fluidconstantly absorbs moisture
from the air. This lowers the boiling point of
the brake fluid. If the boiling point of the brake
fluidistoo low,vaporpocketsmay form in the
brake system when the brakes are applied
hard. This would impair braking efficiency.
There isarisk of an accident.
You should have the brake fluid renewed at
the specified intervals.
Comply with the important safety notes for
service products when handling brake fluid
(Ypage 373).
The brake fluid change intervals can be found
in the Maintenance Booklet.
