Switchingthe seat heating on/off
&
WARNING Risk of burn s duetorepeat‐
edly switching on the seat heater
Re peatedly switching on the seat heater can
cause the seat cushion and seat backrest
padding tobecome very hot.
The health of persons with limited temp era‐
ture sensitivity or a limited ability toreact to
exc essively high temp eratures may be af fec‐
te d or they may even suf fer burn-like injuries.
#Do not repeatedly switch on the seat
heater.
#To switch on/increase the le vel:press but‐
to n1 repeatedly until the desired heating
le ve l is set.
Depending on the heating le vel, up tothre e
indicator lamps light up.
#To switch off/reduce the le vel:press but‐
to n1 repeatedly until all the indicator
lamps go out. %
The seat heater automatically switches down
from theth re e heating le vels af ter cer tain
periods of time: 8, 10and 20 minutes until
th e seat heater is switched off.

upwards slightly and pull it out upwards.
#To install the inser t:press insert 1into

edge.
#To remo vethe inser t:push ribbing 3from
th e left side and pull insert 1upwards and
out.
#To install the inser t:ins tall inse rt1 from
abo veand press down into the holder until it
engages.
Using the cigar ette lighter

WARNING ‑ Risk of fire and injury from
hot cigar ette lighter
Yo u can burn yourself ifyo uto uch the hot
heating element or the soc ket of the ciga‐
re tte lighter.
In addition, flammable materials may ignite

aged connecting cables or soc kets
If a suitable device is connected, the11 5 V
soc ket will be car rying a high voltage. If the
connecting cable or the11 5 V soc ket is
pulled out of the trim or is damaged or wet,
yo u could receive an electric shoc k.

Cooling or heating the vehicle interior before
st arting the jou rney
If yo ustart theve hicle via your smartphone, the
pr ev iously selecte d climate control setting is
active. Before
starting, make sure:
RThe legal stipulations in the area where your
ve hicle is par ked permit engine starting via
smartphone.
RIt is safe tostart and runth e engine where
yo ur vehicle is par ked.
RThe fuel tank is suff icientlyfilled.
RThe star ter battery has suf ficient charge .

The wate r jet from a round-s pray nozzle (dirt
grinder) may cause damage totires and sus‐
pension components that is not visible.

unexpec tedly.
#Do not use high-pressure cleaning
equipment wi thround-spr aynozzles to
clean your vehicle.
#Damaged tires or suspension compo‐
nents must be replaced immediatel y.
Toavo id damage to yourvehicle, obser vethefo l‐
lowing when using a po werwa sher:
RKeep the SmartK eyat least 10ft(3 m) away
from theve hicle. Otherwise the trunk lid
could open unintentionall y.
RMaintain a distance of at least 11.8 in
(30 cm) totheve hicle.
RVe hicles with deco rative foil: parts of your
ve hicle are co vered with a decorative foil.
Maintain a dis tance of at least 27.6 in
(70 cm) between thefo il-c ove red parts of the
ve hicle and the nozzle of the high pressure
cleaner. Mo vethe po werwa sher nozzle
around whilst cleaning.
RObser vethe information on the cor rect dis‐
ta nce in the equipment manufacturer's oper‐
ating instructions.
RDo not point the nozzle of the po werwa sher
directly at sensitive parts such as tires, slits,
electrical component parts, batteries, light
sources and ventilation slot s.
Washing the vehicle byhand
Obser velegal requ irements, forex ample in
some countries washing byhand is only allo wed
at specially equipped washing ba ys.
#Use a mild cleaning agent such as car sham‐
poo.
#Wa shtheve hicle with luk ewarmwate r and a
soft car sponge. While doing so, do not
ex pose theve hicle todirect sunlight.
#Hose down theve hicle carefully with water
and dry it with a leather clo th. Make sure
th at thewate r jet is not pointed directly into
th e air inlet grille.

Ca reand cleaning products con taining sol‐
ve nts can cause surf aces inthe cockpit to
become porous.
When the airbags are deplo yed, plastic parts
may break away.

oughly rinse out theey es using clean

The relative per form ance of tires depends upon
th e actual conditions of their use, ho wever,and
may depart significantly from the norm due to
va riations in driving habits, service practices and
dif fere nces in road characteristics and climate
conditions.

The traction grade assigned tothis tire is
based on stra ight-ahead braking traction
te sts, and does not include either accelera‐
tion, cornering, hydroplaning or peak traction

The traction grades – from highest tolowest –
are AA, A,B and C. Those grades represent the
tire's ability tostop on wet pa vement as meas‐
ured under controlled conditions on specified

WARNING Risk of accident from tire
ove rheating and tire failure
The temp erature grade forth is tire is es tab‐
lished for a tire that is proper ly inflated and
not overloaded. Excessive speed, underinfla‐
tion, or excessive loading, either separately
or in combination, can cause excessive heat
build-up and possible tire failure.
#Obser vethere commended tire pres‐
sure s and regularly check the tire pres‐
sure of all tires including the spare
wheel.
#Ad just the tire pressure as necessar y.
Thetemp erature grades are A (the highest), B
and C. They represent the tire's resis tance tothe
ge neration of heat and its ability todissipate
heat when tested under controlled conditions on
a specified indoor laboratory test wheel. Sus‐
ta ined high temp eratures can cause the material
of the tire todegenerate and reduce tire life. Fur‐
th ermore, excessive temp eratures can lead to
sudden tire failure. Grade C cor responds toa
le ve l of per form ance which all passenger car
tires must meet under therequ irements of the
US Department of Transpor tation.
DO T,Tire Identification Number (TIN)
US tire regulations stipulate that eve rytire man‐
ufactu rer or retreader must imprint a TIN in or
on the side wall of each tire produced.
