The ambient lighting which accompanies
thePa rk-
ing Assist PARKTRONIC display is only intended to
accentuate the display in the central display and
does not replace it.
More information on ambient lighting:

does not occur in the area of the driver's dis-
play or in there ar compartment.
% Depending on the selected setting, other
functions may supersede the ambient lighting
e.ects of Parking Assist PARKTRONIC. In this
case, the ambient lighting e.ects of Parking
Assist PARKTRONIC do not occur.

Pa rking Assist PARKTRONIC does not necessarily
ta ke into account thefo llowing obstacles:
R Obstacles below the de tection range, e.g. per-
sons, animals or objects.
R Obstacles abo vethe de tection range, e.g.
ov erhanging loads, overhangs or loading
ra mp s of lor ries. R
Pedest rians or animals approaching theve hi-
cle from the side.
R Objects placed next totheve hicle
Obs tacles on the sides are not shown in thefo l-
lowing situations, forex ample:
R You park theve hicle and switch it o..
R You open the doors.
ATer the engine is restar ted, obstacles must be
de tected again bydriving past them before a new
wa rning can be issued.

If th ePa rking Assist PARKTRONIC display lights
up redfo r appr oximately thre e seconds then goes
out, and theé symbol appears in the driver's
displa y,the system may ha vebeen deactivated
due tosignal inter fere nce. Start theve hicle again
and check if Parking Assist PARKTRONIC is work-
ing at a di.erent location.
If a warning tone also sounds, it may be due to
one of thefo llowing causes:
