Rexteriorlighting delayeds witch-off:the
exterior lighting remains lit for 60 seconds
after the engine is switched off. If you close all
the doors and the trunk lid,t he exterior light-
ing goes off after five seconds.
iDepending on you rvehicle's equipment,
when the surround lighting and exterior light-
ing delayed switch-off are on, the following
lightu p:
RParking lamps
RLow-beamh eadlamps
RDaytime running lamps
RSide marker lamps
RSurround lighting in the exterior mirrors
Switching the interiorl ighting delayed
switch-off on/off
If you activate the Interior Lighting Delayfunction, the interior lighting remains on for
20 seconds after you remove the SmartKey from
the ignitionlock.
XPress the=or; button on the steering
wheeltos elect theSett.menu.
XPress the :or9 button to select the
Lightssubmenu.
XPress ato confirm.
XPress the :or9 button to select the
Interior Lighting Delayfunction.

If you activate the AutomaticDoorLockfunc-
tion, the vehicleisc entrally locked above a
speed of approximately9 mph (15 km/h).

XPress ato confirm.

Automatic Door Lockfunction.
When the Automatic Door Lockfunction is

locking verification signal
If you switch on the AcousticLockfunction, an
acoustic signal sounds when you lock the vehi-
cle.

XPress ato confirm.
XPress the :or9 button to select the
Acoustic Lockfunction.
If the Acoustic Lockfunction is activated,

Comfort
Activating/deactivatin gthe EASY-
ENTRY/EXIT feature
GWARNING
When the EASY-ENTRY/EXIT feature adjusts
the steering wheel, you and other vehicle
occupants –particularl ychildren –could
become trapped. There is arisk of injury.
Whilet he EASY-ENTRY/EXIT feature is mak-
ing adjustments, make sure that no one has
any body parts in the sweepoft he steering
wheel.
If somebody becomes trapped:
Rpress one of the memory function position
buttons, or
Rmove the switch for steering wheela djust-
ment in the opposite directiontot hat in
which the steering wheelism oving.
The adjustment process is stopped.

fumes could enter the passenger compart-

Turn off the engin ebeforeo pening the rear
door. Never drive with the rear door open.
!Ensure that you remove all containers from
the cup holder in the rear beforef oldingthe
seat backrest and the seat cushio nofthe rear
benc hseat forwards.

Ypage 204).
The rear benc hseat is split symmetrically.
The left-han dand right-han drear benc hseats
can be folded forward to increase the capacity
of the rear compartment. You can:
Rfold the seat backrestsf orward
Rfold the rear benchseat back fully
Folding th eseat backrest forward
XRemove the center head restraint
(Ypage 77).
XPull release :in the direction of the arrow.
The correspondin gseat backrest is released.
XFold the backrest forward.
The seat backrest engages audibly.

Securing loads
Important safety notes
Distribute the load on the carg otie-downr ings
evenly.
Do not tamper with or repai rcarg otie-down
points, carg otie-downr ingsort ie downs. Have
maintenance work as well as modifications,
installations and conversions carrie doutat a
qualified specialist workshop(
Ypage 27).
Observe the following notes on securing loads:
RObserve the loading guideline s(Ypage 204).
RSecure the load using the carg otie-down
rings.
RDistribute the load on the carg otie-down
ring sevenly.
RDo not us eelast ic straps or nets to secure a
load ,ast hesea re only intended as an anti-slip
protectio nfor light loads.
RDo not route tie-downs across sharp edges or
corners.
RPads harp edges for protection.
ROnly us etie downs that have bee ncheckedi n
accordance with applicabl estandards, e.g.
lashing nets or lashing straps.
RFil lthe spaces between the load and the
carg ocompartment wall sand the wheel
housing in aform-locking way. Only use
dimensionall ystable transportation aids for
this ,suc hasc hocks,w oodenf ixings or pad-
