Ve hicles without Driving Assistance Pack‐
age or Driving Assistance Plus Package:
Ac tive Lane Keeping Assist uses radar sensors
to monitor se veral areas around theve hicle. If
th era dar sensors in there ar bumper are dirty or
co vered with sno w,the sy stem may be impaired
or may not function. If an obs tacle in the lane in
which you are driving has been de tected, no
lane-cor recting brake application occu rs.

sent toMercedes-Benz AG. The da tais immedi‐
ately rende red anonymous byMercedes-Benz AG
and forw arded tothe tra ffic data pr ovider. Using
th is data, traf fic re ports releva nt totheve hicle's
position are sent totheve hicle. The vehicle acts
as a sensor forth eflow of traf fic and helps to
impr ovethequ ality of the traf fic re ports.
If yo u do not wanttotransmit theve hicle posi‐
tion, you ha vethefo llowing options:
R You deactivate the service in the Mercedes
me por tal.
R You ha vethe service deactivated at a
Mercedes-Benz service cent re.
Useful information on FM RDS-TMC: R A FM RDS-TMC radio station broadcasts traf‐
fi c re ports alongside thera dio programme.
R FM RDS-TMC is not available in all countries. MBUX multimedia sy

from the windscreen and wiper rubbers, this
will pr event smearing and reduce wiper
noise.
Au tomatic car wash mode
In car wash mode, theve hicle is prepared for
driving into the automatic car wash. Car wash mode can be activated at a speed of up
to
20 km/h (/ page 526).
The following settings are made when car wash
mode is activated:
R the outside mir rors are folded down.
R thera in sensor is deactivated topreve ntthe
windscreen washer sy stem from starting up
automaticall y.
R there ar wind owwiper is deactivated.
R the windo wsand the sliding sunroof are
closed.
R the air conditioning sy stem is set toair-recir‐
culation mode.
R Parking Assist PARKTRONIC is deacti vated.
R Vehicles with 360° Camera: the front
image is activated af ter appro x. eight sec‐
onds.
R Vehicles with AIRMATIC: theve hicle is
ra ised tothe maximum possible chassis
le ve l(/ page 249).
If rising takes longer than 25 seconds, the
fo llowing message appears on the multifunc‐
tion display: Preparation for car wash incomplete See
media display
. After some time, theve hicle
automatically continues rising.
R Vehicles with E- ACTIVE BODY CONT ROL:
th eve hicle is raised tothe maximum possi‐
ble chassis le vel(/ page 258).
If rising takes longer than 25 seconds, the

R Only use car washes that cor respond tothe latest engi‐
neering standards.
R Do not use car wash programmes with a final hot wax

R Do not use paint cleane rs, buf fing or polishing products,

Usewate r and acid-free cleaning agents. Do not cleanthe aluminium trim insert of theru nning board
wi th alkaline or acidic cleaning agents such as wheel clean‐
ers. Do not use acidic wheel cleaners toremo vebrake dust.
The aluminium trim inserts could otherwise be damaged.
Re versing camera
and 360° Camera R
Open the camera co ver with the multimedia sy stem
(/ page 274) .
R Use clean water and a soft clo thtoclean the camera lens. Do not use a high-pressure cleaner.
Ta ilpipes
Clean with a cleaning agent recommended for Mercedes-
Benz, especially in the winter and af terwa shing theve hicle. Do not use acidic cleaning agents.
Tr ailer hitch R
Remo vetraces of rust on the ball, e.g. with a wire brush.
R Remo vedirt with a lint-free clo th.
R After cleaning, oil or grease the ball head lightl y.
R Obser vethe no tes on care in the trailer hitch manufactur‐
er's operating instructions. Do not clean
the ball neck with a high-pressure cleaner or sol‐

th e preceding tyre sizes are complemented by
th e0091 symbol, the tyre pressure information
fo llowing sho wsalternative tyre pressures.
These tyre pressures may impr oveyour vehicle's
ri de comfort. Fuel consum ption may then
increase slightl y.
The load conditions "partially laden" and "fully
laden" are defined in theta ble for dif fere nt num‐
be rs of passengers and amounts of luggage. The
actual number of seats may dif fer from this.

The sy stem checks the tyre pressure and the
tyre temp erature of the tyres fitted totheve hicle
by means of a tyre pressu resensor.
New tyre pressure sensors, e.g. in winter tyres,
are automatically taught-in during thefirs t jour‐
ney they are used. The tyre pressure and
the tyre temp erature
appear in the multifunction display
(/ page 559).
If th ere is a subs tantial pressure loss or if the
tyre temp erature is excessive, you will be
wa rned in thefo llowing ways:

The tyre pressu remonitoring sy stem is only an
aid. It is the driver's responsibility toset the tyre
pressure tothere commended cold tyre pressure
suitable forth e operating situation. Set the tyre
pressure for cold tyres using a tyre pressu re
ga uge. No tethat the cor rect tyre pressure for
th e cur rent operating situation mu stfirs t be
ta ught-in tothe tyre pressure monitoring sys‐
te m.
In most cases, the tyre pressure monitoring sys‐
te m will auto maticallyupdate the new refere nce
va lues af teryo u ha vechanged the tyre pressure.
Yo u can, ho wever,also update there fere nce val‐
ues byrestarting the tyre pressure monitoring
sy stem manually (/ page 560). Sy
stem limits
The sy stem may be impaired or may not function
in thefo llowing situations:
R the tyre pressure has been set incor rectly
R there is a sudden pressure loss caused, for
ex ample, byafo re ign object penetrating the
tyre
R there is a malfunction caused byano ther

Use M+S tyres at outside temp eratures
of less than 50 °F. Obse
rveth efo llowing when selecting, fitting and
re placing tyres:
R Countr y-specific requirements for tyre
appro valth at define a specific tyre type for
yo ur vehicle.
Fu rthermore, the use of cer tain tyre types in
cer tain regions and areas of operation can
be highly beneficial.
R Only use tyres and wheels of the same type
(summer tyres, winter tyres, MOEx tended
tyres) and the same make.
R Only fit wheels of the same size on one axle
(left and right). It is only permissible
tofit a di fferent wheel
size in theeve nt of a flat tyre in order to
drive tothe specialist workshop.
R Only fit tyres of the cor rect size onto the
wheels.
R Do not make any modifications tothe brake
sy stem, the wheels or the tyres.
The use of shims or brake dust shields is not
permitted and may in validate theve hicle's
ge neral operating pe rmit.
R Vehicles with a tyre pressure monitoring
sy stem: allfitted wheels mu stbe equipped
with functioning sensors forth e tyre pres‐
sure monitoring sy stem.
R Attemp eratures below 7 °C, use winter tyres
or all-season tyres mar ked M+S for all
wheels.
Wi nter tyres bearing the004D snowflake
symbol in addition tothe M+S marking pro‐
vide the best possible grip in wintry road
conditions.
R For M+S tyres, only use tyres with the same
tread. R
Obser vethe maximum permissible speed for
th e M+S tyres fitted.
If th e tyre's maximum speed is below that of
th eve hicle, this must be indicated byan
appropriate label in the driver's field of
vision.
R Run in new tyres at moderate speeds forthe
fi rs t10 0 km.
R Replace the tyres af ter six years at the latest,
re ga rdless of wear.
R When replacing with tyres that do not
fe ature run-flat characteristics: vehicles
with MOExtended tyres are not equipped
with a TIREFIT kit at thefa ctor y.Equip the
ve hicle with a TIREFIT kit af terre placing with
tyres that do not feature run-flat characteris‐
tics, e.g. winter tyres.
% You can permanently limit the maximum
ve hicle speed for driving with winter tyres
