Adaptive Highbeam Assist Plus
Gene ra l notes
Wit h Adaptive Highbea m Assis t Plus, you can
automatically switch between low-beam , partial
high-beam and high-beam headlamps.
Partial high-beam is a for m of illumination
whereby th e high-beam is directe d past other
road users. Other road user s are kept out of th e
high-beam. This prevents glare. When there is a
vehicl e in front, for example, th e high-beam
headlamp s illuminate th e areas to it s right and
left, and th e vehicl e in fron t is illuminate d by th e
low-beam headlamps.
The system automatically adapt s th e low-beam
headlamp range depending on th e distanc e to
th e other vehicle. Once th e system no longer
detects any other vehicles, it reactivates th e
high-beam headlamps.
If th e high-beam or partial high-beam are caus -
ing to o muc h reflection from traffic signs, th e
lights are automatically dimmed and glar e for
th e driver caused by th e reflection s is thus avoi -
ded.
The system' s optical sensor is locate d behind
th e windshield near th e overhead control panel. Import ant safety notes
