Changing direction ove rv iew
There are th re e phases when ch anging direction:R
Preparation phase
If th ere is enough time between th e ch anges
of direction, th e multimedia sy st em prepares
yo u fo r th e upcoming ch ange of direction. A navigation announcement, e.g. "Prepare to
turn ri ght", is issued.
The map appears in full-screen mode. R
Announcement phase
The multimedia sy st em announces th e
upcoming ch ange of direction, e.g. by
announcing "Turn ri ght in 300 fe et (100 m)".
The display is split into two parts. The map is
displa ye d on th e lef t; on th e ri ght, th ere is a
de ta iled image of th e intersection or a 3D
image of th e upcoming ch ange of direction. R
Chan ge -of-direction phase
The multimedia sy st em announces th e immi‐
nent ch ange of direction, e.g. by announcing
"Now turn ri ght".
The display is split into two parts.
The ve hicle has successfully ch anged direc‐
tion when th e light-colored bar on th e ri ght
drops down to 0 fe et (0 me te rs ) and th e cur‐
re nt ve hicle position symbol has re ached th e
highlighted ch ange-of-direction point.
When th e ch ange of direction is comple te ,

In fo rm ation on th e ve hicle's position is re gularly
sent to Daimler AG . The da ta is immediately re n‐
de re d anonymous by Daimler AG and fo rw arded
to th e traf fi c da ta pr ov ider. Using th is data, traf‐
fi c re ports re le va nt to th e ve hicle's position are
sent to th e ve hicle. The ve hicle acts as a sensor
fo r th e fl ow of traf fi c and helps to impr ov e th e
qu ality of th e tra ff ic re ports.
If yo u do not wish to transmit yo ur ve hicle posi‐
tion, yo u can ha ve th is service deactivated at an
authorized Mercedes-Benz Center.
