Problems with the seat heating
ProblemPossible causes/consequences andMSolutions
The seat heating has
switched off prema-
turely or cannot be
switched on.The on-board voltage is too low because too many electrical con-
sumers are switched on.
XSwitch off electrical consumers that you do not need, such as
the rear window defroster or interior lighting.
Once the battery is sufficiently charged, the seat heating can be
switched back on manually.
Switching the seat ventilation on/off
Front seats
The three blue indicator lamps in the buttons
indicate the blower setting you have selected.
XTurn the SmartKey to position 1or 2in the
ignition lock (
Ypage 151).
XTo switch on: press button:repeatedly
until the desired blower setting is set.
XTo switch off: press button:repeatedly
until all the indicator lamps go out.
iIf the battery voltage is too low, the seat
ventilation may switch off.
iYou can open the side windows using the
"Convenience opening" feature
(
Ypage 99). The seat ventilation of the
driver's seat automatically switches to the
highest level.
iWhen the vehicle is stationary, the fan
speed can be reduced automatically. This
reduces the noises of the seat ventilation.

XTo indicate briefly: press the combination
switch briefly to the pressure point in the
direction of arrow ;or?.
The corresponding turn signal flashes three
times.
XTo indicate: press the combination switch
beyond the pressure point in the direction
of arrow ;or?.
High-beam headlamps
XTo switch on manually: turn the Smart-
Key to position 2in the ignition lock or start
the engine.
XVehicles without Adaptive Highbeam
Assist: turn the light switch to Lor
Ã.
XVehicles with Adaptive Highbeam Assist:
turn the light switch to L.
XPress the combination switch beyond the
pressure point in the direction of arrow :.
In the Ãposition, the high-beam head-
lamps are only switched on when it is dark
and the engine is running. The blue
Kindicator lamp in the instru-
ment cluster lights up when the high-beam
headlamps are switched on.
XTo deactivate: move the combination
switch back to its normal position.
The blue Kindicator lamp in the instru-
ment cluster goes out.
Vehicles with Adaptive Highbeam Assist
Plus: when Adaptive Highbeam Assist Plus is
activated, it automatically controls activation and deactivation of the high-beam headlamps
(
Ypage 127).
High-beam flasher
XTo switch on: turn the SmartKey in the
ignition lock to position 1or 2, or start the
engine.
XPull the combination switch in the direction
of arrow =.
Hazard warning lamps
XTo switch on the hazard warning lamps:
press button :.
All turn signals flash. If you now switch on a
turn signal using the combination switch,
only the turn signal lamp on the corre-
sponding side of the vehicle will flash.
XTo switch off the hazard warning lamps:
press button :.

XTo select the frequency range or stationmemory: pressabriefly.
XPress :or9 to select the frequency
range or station memory.
XPress ato confirm the selection.
iStore the station in COMAND (see the
separate operating instructions).
iSIRIUS XM satellite radio functions like a
normal radio.

Media menu
Changing the media source
You can change the media source and play-
back mode (audio, video or TV) at any time in
the Media
menu.
XSwitch on COMAND (see the separate
operating instructions).
XPress the òbutton on the steering
wheel to open the menu list.
XPress :or9 on the steering wheel
to select the Media
menu.
XConfirm by pressing aon the steering
wheel.
XTo open/close the media sources list:
press abriefly.
The list shows the following media sources, for example:
RDisc (CD/DVD)
RSD memory card
RMedia Register
RUSB storage device
RBluetooth®capable audio device

(see the separate operating instructions).
Operating an audio player or audio
media
:Media source, e.g. name of current CD

AFolder name
Audio data from various audio devices or
media can be played, depending on the equip-
ment installed in the vehicle.
XSwitch on COMAND (see the separate
operating instructions).
XPress the òbutton on the steering
wheel to open the menu list.
XPress :or9 on the steering wheel
to select the Media
menu.
XConfirm by pressing aon the steering
wheel.
XTo select an audio player or data car-
rier: press abriefly.
The list containing the media sources
appears.
XPress :or9 to select the corre-
sponding audio player or media.

XEstablish a Bluetooth®connection to
COMAND, see the separate operating

XPress the òbutton on the steering
wheel to open the menu list.

menu.
XConfirm by pressing aon the steering
wheel.
You will see one of the following display mes-
sages in the multifunction display:
RPhone READYor the name of the network
provider: the mobile phone has found a
network and is ready to receive.
RPhone No Service: there is no network
available or the mobile phone is searching
for a network.
Accepting a call
If someone calls you when you are in the
Telephone
menu, a display message appears
in the multifunction display.
You can accept a call at any time, even if you
are not in the Telephone
menu.
XPress the6button on the steering
wheel to accept an incoming call.
Rejecting or ending a call
You can end or reject a call at any time even if
you are not in the Telephone
menu.
XPress the~button on the steering
wheel to reject or end a call.
Selecting an entry in the phone book
XPress the òbutton on the steering
wheel to open the menu list.
XPress :or9 on the steering wheel
to select the Telephone
menu.
XConfirm by pressing aon the steering
wheel.
XPress the :,9ora button to
switch to the phone book.
XPress :or9 to select the names
one after the other.
or
XTo start rapid scrolling: press and hold
the : or9 button for longer than
one second.
The names in the phone book are displayed quickly one after the other.
If you press and hold the :or9
button for longer than five seconds, the
name appears with the next or previous let-
ter initial letter in the alphabet.
Rapid scrolling stops when you release the
button or reach the end of the list.
XIf only one telephone number is stored
for a name: press the6ora button
to start dialing.
or
XIf there is more than one number for a
particular name: press the6ora
button to display the numbers.
XPress :or9 to select the number
you want to dial.
XPress the 6ora button to start dial-
ing.
or
XTo exit the telephone book: press the
~ or% button.

wheel.
XPress :or9 to select the Factory
Settingssubmenu.
XPressato confirm.
The Reset All Settings?

appears.
XPress the :or9 button to select No
orYes.
XPress the abutton to confirm the selec-
tion.
If you have selected Yes
, the multifunction
display shows a confirmation message.
For safety reasons, the Daytime Running
Lightsfunction in theLightssubmenu is
only reset when the vehicle is stationary.

to select the AMG

Upshift indicator: upshift indicatorUP

indicates that the engine has reached the
overrevving range when in the manual drive
program.
Engine/transmission oil temperature:
when the engine and transmission are at nor-
mal operating temperature, oil tempera-
ture ?and Aare displayed in white in the
multifunction display.
If the multifunction display shows oil temper-
ature ?orA in blue, the engine or the
transmission are not yet at normal operating
temperature. Avoid driving at full engine out-
put during this time.
