Dialing a number from the phone book

®
Brake is only available in vehicles
with DISTRONIC PLUS.
X Press 0002or0005 on the steering wheel
to select the DriveAssist menu.
X Press the 0003or0004 buttonto select
PRE-SAFE Brake .
X Press the 000Bbutton.
The current selection is displayed.
X To activate/deactivate: press the000B
button again.
When PRE-SAFE ®
Brake is activated, the
multifunction display shows the 0001symbol
as long as the HOLD function is not activated
(Y page 176).
Vehicles with Parking Guidance: if
PARKTRONIC is activated and you are driving
at a speed 22under 35 km/h, the 0014Parking
Guidance symbol is shown instead of the
0001 symbol (Y page 181).
If the PRE-SAFE Brake: Sensors Deactivated message appears, the radar
sensor system is deactivated.

door locking mechanism

Activating/deactivating the acoustic
locking verification signal
If you switch on the Acoustic LockFeedback: function, an acoustic signal
sounds when you lock the vehicle.

Vehicle submenu.
X Press 000Bto confirm.
X Press the 0004or0003 button to select the
Acoustic Lock Feedback: function.

Convenience Activating/deactivating the EASY-
ENTRY/EXIT feature

WARNING
You must make sure no one can become
trapped or injured by the moving steering
wheel when the easy-entry/exit feature is
activated.
To stop steering wheel movement, move
steering wheel adjustmen tlever or press one
of the memory position buttons.
Do not leave children unattended in the
vehicle, or with access to an unlocked vehicle.
Children could open the driver's door and
unintentionally activate the easy-entry/exit
feature, which could result in an accident
and/or serious personal injury.

Brake is operational again.
X Pull over and stop the vehicle safely as soon as possible, paying
attention to road and traffic conditions.

X Clean the sensors in the radiator grill and the bumper

There is a risk of an accident.
X Stop the vehicle without making any sudden steering or braking
maneuvers. Pay attention to the traffic conditions as you do so.
X Secure the vehicle against rolling away (Y page 155).
X If there is a flat tire, inspect the tires (Y page 291).
X Check the tire pressure (Y page 316).

Air bags and Emergency Tensioning
Devices, as well as control units and
sensors for these restraint systems, may be
installed in the following areas of your
vehicle:
R doors
R door pillars
R door sills
R seats
R cockpit
R instrument cluster
R center console
Do not install accessories such as audio
systems in these areas. Do not carry out
repairs or welding. You could impair the
operating efficiency of the restraint
systems.
Have aftermarket accessories installed at
a qualified specialist workshop.
