is too hot, the engine may be damaged. #
Stop immediately in accordance with the traf fic conditions and
switch off the engine. Do not continue driving! #

The coolant le vel is too lo w.
If th e coolant le vel is cor rect, the air supply tothera diator may be
impaired or thera diator's electric fan may be faulty.
The coolant is too hot and the engine is not being adequately cooled. #
Pay attention tothe display messages. #
Stop immediately in accordance with the traf fic conditions and
switch off the engine. #
Secure theve hicle against rolling away. #
Exit theve hicle and keep a safe dis tance from it until the engine
has cooled down. #
Check the coolant le vel and top up with coolant, complying with
th e instructions (/ page 225). #
Ifth e coolant has tobe topped up frequentl y,ha ve the engine
cooling sy stem checked at a qualified specialist workshop. #
Ensure that the air supply tothera diator is not impaired, e.g. by a
plastic bag that has been blown onto the grille. #
Monitor the coolant temp erature display on the instrument clus‐
te r. #
Do not restart the engine until the coolant temp erature is below
12 0°C. If you do, the engine may be damaged. #
Drive on tothe nearest qualified specialist workshop. Avoid high
engine loads, e.g. driving on hilly roads or stop-and-go driving.
00AC Coolant warning lamp *The
red coolant warning lamp is on while the engine is running. A

The coolant has exceeded thete mp erature of 120°C. The air supply

ing fluids. #
Before opening the bonn et, allow the engine tocool down. #
Intheeve nt of a fire inthe engine compartment, keep the
bonn etclosed and call thefire service. #
Pay attention tothe display messages. #
Stop immediately in accordance with the traf fic conditions and
switch off the engine. #
Secure theve hicle against rolling away. #
Exit theve hicle and keep a safe dis tance from it until the engine
has cooled down. #
Check the coolant le vel and top up with coolant, complying with
th e instructions (/ page 225). #
