When replacement of any of the tires orwheels is necessary, replace all of them.  All tires should be rotated whenever the wear difference between the front and reartires is recognizable.
Good vehicle performance cannot be expected if there is a difference in wear between tires. Refer to “Tire rotation” onpage 9-18.  Check the tire inflation pressure regularly.
CAUTIONWhen the Twin Clutch SST fluid tempera- ture is high, the engine idle speed when the vehicle is stopped may increase or the vehi- cle will have a weak tendency to creep.After that, if the Twin Clutch SST fluid tem- perature rises even higher, the warning display will appear.

A limited-slip differential is applied for front wheel differential. The features of this lim- ited-slip differential are described below: Just as with a conventional differential, the wheel on one side is allowed to turn at a dif-ferent speed from the wheel on the other side when the vehicle is cornering. The difference between the limited-slip differential and aconventional differential is that if the wheel on one side of the vehicle loses traction, a greater amount of torque is applied to thewheel on the other side to improve traction.
 If the ASC OFF switch is continuously pressed after the ASC has been turned OFF or the ASC and the braking control of AYC have been turned off, an erroneous operation prevention function operates and the ASC isautomatically turned ON.
ASC operation display or ASC OFF display
- ASC operation display/ASC indicator The display/indicator will blink when the ASC is operating. - ASC OFF display The display is displayed when the ASC has been deactivated with the “ASC OFF” switch.CAUTION When display/indicator blinks, ASC is operating, which means that the road is slip- pery or that your vehicle’s wheels are begin-ning to slip.  The display may come on when you start the engine. This means that the battery volt- age momentarily dropped when the engine was started. It does not indicate a malfunc-tion, provided that the display goes out immediately.  When a compact spare tire has been put on your vehicle, the gripping ability of the tire will be lower, making it more likely that the display/indicator will blink.

If the set speed driving is deactivated by the condition described in “To deactivate” onpage 5-84, you can resume the previously set speed by pressing the “ACC RES” switch (C) while driving at a speed of about 25 mph (40km/h) or higher.
Under either of the following conditions, however, using the switch does not allow you to resume the previously set speed. In these situations, repeat the speed setting procedure:  The “ON OFF” switch is pressed.  The ignition switch is turned OFF.  “CRUISE” indicator light is turned OFF.

The tire pressure monitoring system uses tire inflation pressure sensors (A) on the wheels to monitor the tire inflation pressures. The system only indicates when a tire is signifi-cantly under-inflated.

This light comes on when the ignition switch is turned to the “ON” position (engine off).When the engine is started, the light should go off a few seconds later. A warning is also displayed in the multi-information display.The warning light also illuminates after start-ing the engine under the following condi- tions.  When the parking brake is still applied.  When the brake fluid level is low.  When the brake system circuit is not working properly.
Before driving, be sure that the parking brake is fully released and brake warning light isoff.

This indicator is a part of the onboard diag- nostic (OBD) system which monitors the emissions, engine control system or TwinClutch SST control system. If a problem is detected in one of these systems, this indica- tor illuminates or flashes. When the ignitionswitch is turned to the “ON” position, thisindicator normally comes on and goes off after the engine has started. This indicator will come on if the fuel tank filler cap is not properly tightened. If thisindicator comes on and stays on after refuel- ing, stop the engine and check that the cap is properly tightened. (Turn the cap clockwiseuntil you hear clicking sounds.) If this indicator does not go off after several seconds or lights up while driving, have thesystem checked as soon as possible at an authorized Mitsubishi Motors dealer or a repair facility of your choice.

Wiper operation under these conditions can scratch the windshield and damage the wip- ers.
With the lever in the “AUTO” (rain sensor) position, it is possible to adjust the sensitivityof the rain sensor by turning the knob (C).
CAUTION With the ignition switch in the “ON” posi- tion and the lever in the “AUTO” position, the wipers may automatically operate in the situations described below.• When cleaning the outside surface of thewindshield, if you touch the rain sensor.• When cleaning the outside surface of thewindshield, if you wipe with a cloth the rainsensor.• When using an automatic car wash.• A physical shock is applied to the wind-shield.• A physical shock is applied to the rain sen-sor.
If your hands get trapped, you could be injured and the wipers could malfunction or become damaged. To deactivate the rain sen- sor, place the lever in the “OFF” position.NOTE
 To protect the rubber parts of the wipers, this operation of the wipers does not take placewhen the vehicle is stationary and the ambi- ent temperature is about 32 °F (0 °C) or lower.  Do not cover the sensor by affixing a sticker or label to the windshield. Also, do not putany water-repellent coating on the wind- shield. The rain sensor would not be able to detect the extent of rain, and the wipersmight stop working normally.  In the following cases, the rain sensor may be malfunctioning. Have the vehicle checked at an authorized Mitsubishi Motors dealer or a repair facility of your choice • When the wipers operate at a constant inter- val despite changes in the extent of rain. • When the wipers do not operate even though it is raining.CAUTION
 The wipers may automatically operate when things such as insects or foreign objects are affixed to the windshield on top of the rain sensor or when the windshield is frozen. Objects affixed to the windshield will stopthe wipers when the wipers cannot remove them. To operate the wipers again, move the lever to the “LO” or “HI” position.Also, the wipers may operate automatically due to strong direct sunlight or electromag- netic wave. To stop the wipers, move thelever to the “OFF” position.  Contact an authorized Mitsubishi Motors dealer or a repair facility of your choice when replacing the windshield glass.

Fuel economy is dependent on many factors. Your personal driving habits can have a sig-nificant effect on your fuel use. Several rec- ommendations for achieving the greatest fuel economy are listed below.  Whenever accelerating from a stop, always accelerate slowly and smoothly. When parked for even a short period, do not idle the engine.
