WARNING
!●
Do not allow any rear seat occupant to hold onto the seatback of either front se
at, in order to reduce risk
of injury from a deploying side airbag. Special care should be taken with children.
●
Do not place any objects near or in front of the seat- back of either front seat.
They could interfere with
proper side airbag inflatio
n, and also could cause
injury if thrown free by side airbag deployment.
●
Do not place stickers, labels or additional trim on the seatback of either fron
t seat. They could inter-
fere with proper side airbag inflation.
●
Do not install seat covers
on seats with side airbags.
Do not re-cover the seats with side airbags. Theycould interfere with prop
er side airbag inflation.
WARNING
!●
Do not attach a microphone
(A) or any other device
or object around the part
where the cu
rtain airbags
activate such as on the windscreen, side door glass, front and rear pillars and roof side or assist grips. When the curtain airbags in

SRS warning lamp
E00407800129
There is a supplemental restra
int system (“SRS”) warning lamp
on the instrument panel. The sy
stem checks itself and the lamp
tells you if there is a problem.
When the ignition key is turned
to the “ON” or “START” position, the warning lamp shouldilluminate for several seconds and then should go out. This means the system is ready. If
an SRS airbag or pre-tensioner
seat belt is not operating properly, the warning lamp illumi-nates and stays on. The SRS warning lamp is shared by the Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) and the
seat belt pre-tensioner system.
WARNING
!●
Do not put a hanger or any heavy or pointed object on the coat hook.If the curtain airbag was
activated, any such item
could be propelled away with great force and could prevent the curtain airbag
from inflating correctly.
Hang clothes directly on
the coat hook (without
using a hanger). Make sure there are no heavy or sharp objects in thepockets of clothes that you
hang on the coat hook.
●
Do not allow the child to lean against or close to the front door even if the ch
ild is seated in a child
restraint system. The child’s head should also not be leaned against orbe close to the area where the side airbag and cur- tain airbag are located. It
is dangerous if the side
airbag and curtain airbag inflates.Failure to follow all these
instructions
could lead to
serious or fatal injury to the child.
●
We recommend work around and on the side air- bags and curtain airbags system to be done by a MITSUBISHI MOTORS Auth
orized Service Point.

WARNING
!●
If any of the following
conditions occur, the SRS
and/or seat belt pre-tensioners are not workingproperly, and we recommend you to have it inspected by a MITSUBISHI MOTORS Authorized Service Point immediately.• The SRS warning lamp do
es not illuminate when
you start the vehicle. • The SRS warning lamp does not go out after sev-eral seconds. • The SRS warning lamp illuminates while driving.
WARNING
!●
We recommend any maintenance performed on or near the components of the SRS to be performed bya MITSUBISHI MOTORS
Authorized Service
Point. Improper work on the SR
S components or wiring
could result in inadverten
t deployment of the air-
bags, or could render the SRS inoperative; either situation could result in serious injury.
●
Do not modify your steering wheel, seat belt retrac- tor or any other SRS co
mponents. For example,
replacement of the steering
wheel, or modifications
to the front bumper or body
structure can adversely
affect SRS performance and
lead to possible injury.
●
If your vehicle has received any damage, we recom- mend you to have the SRS in
spected to ensure it is in
proper working order.
●
On vehicles with the side
airbags, do not modify
your front seats, centre pillar and centre console. It can adversely affect SR
S performance and lead to
possible injury. If you found any tear scratch, crack or damage to the seat fabric near the side airbag, the portion of the front and rear pillars and roof side rail, youshould have the SRS in
spected by a MITSUBISHI
MOTORS Authorized Service Point.

NOTE●
When the vehicle has been re
fuelled, the pointer in the
fuel gauge takes a short while to stabilize.
●
The fuel gauge will not give
an accurate indication if the
vehicle is refuelled with the ignition switch in the “ON”position.
●
When the engine on diesel-pow
ered vehicles fails to oper-
ate owing to running out of fuel, it may sometimes be dif-ficult to start after refuelling.
This is due to air entering
the fuel system. Therefore, ai
r must be bled from the sys-
tem. (Refer to “Bleeding th
e fuel system” on page 6-9.)
Fuel lid markThe fuel lid mark (A) indicates
that the fuel tank filler door is
located on the right side of the vehicle.
Low fuel warning lamp
E00508100595
The warning lamp (A) illuminates when the fuel level is get-ting low (approx. 10 litres) with the ignition switch in the “ON” position. Refuel as soon as possible.NOTE●
On inclines or curves, due to
the movement of fuel in the
tank, the low fuel warning lamp may indicate incorrectly.

Fuel filter indication lamp (diesel-powered vehicles)
E00509900040
This indication lamp illuminates when the igni- tion switch is turned to the “ON” position andgoes off after the engine has started. If it lights up while the engine is ru
nning, it indicates that
water has accumulated inside the fuel filter; ifthis happens, remove the
water from the fuel fil-
ter. When the lamp goes out, you can resume driv-ing. If it either does not go out or comes on from time to time, we recommend you to have the vehicle inspected.

Brake warning lamp (brake warning buzzer)
E00502501057
This lamp illuminates when the ignition switch is turned to the “ON” position, and goes off after a few seconds. With the ignition switch in the “ON” position, the brake warning lamp illuminates under the following conditions:●
When the parking brake lever has been engaged.
●
When the brake fluid level in the reservoir falls to a low level.
●
When the brake circuit
is not operating cor-
rectly.
Brake warning buzzer When there is a danger of brake performance becoming compromised,
a buzzer will sound to
alert the driver. If this
buzzer should continue to
sound, park your vehicl
e in a safe place and we
recommend you to have it checked.NOTE●
Depressing the brake pe
dal repeatedly may
turn on the brake warning lamp, ABS warn- ing lamp and brake
warning buzzer. It is
normal if the lamp goes out and the buzzer stops sounding after a few seconds.

NOTE●
In certain cases immediately after the engine has been started or when the brake pedal is depressed repeatedly, a noise gen- erated by operation of brake devices may beheard coming from
the engine compart-
ment. This type of noise is normal and there is no need for concer
n. In fact, it indicates
that the corresponding devices are operating normally.
●
The brake system uses
brake fluid pressu-
rized by the pump. Please refer to “Braking” on page 4-56.
CAUTION
!●
In the situations listed below, brake performance may be compromised orthe vehicle may become unstable if brakes are applied suddenly; conse- quently, avoid driving at high speedsor applying the brakes suddenly. Fur- thermore, the vehicle should be brought to a stop in a safe location andto have it checked.• The brake warning lamp does notilluminate when the parking brake is applied or does not turn off when the parking brake is released.• The brake warning lamp remains illuminated during driving. • The brake warning buzzer does notturn off.
●
The vehicle should be brought to a halt in the following manner when brake performance has deteriorated.• Depress the brake pedal harder than usual. Even if the brake pedal moves downto the very end of its possible stroke, keep it pressed down hard. • Should the brakes fail, use enginebraking to reduce your speed and pull the parking brake lever. Depress the brake pedal to operate the stop lamp to
