HOW TO USE THE VEHICLE
INFORMATION DISPLAY
When thebutton, located on the instru-
ment panel just behind the steering wheel is
pressed, the following modes will display on the
screen.
Engine start operation indicator!MPG!
MPG/MPH!Time/Miles!Range!Exterior
Temperature!Setting!Warning
Engine start operation indicator
This indicator appears when the ignition switch is
in the LOCK or ACC position with the selector
lever in the “P” position.For more information about this indicator see the
“Vehicle Information Display indicator lights and
warnings” section later in this chapter.
Setting mode
The setting mode allows you to set reminders or
preferences for alerts, maintenance intervals or
language displays.
In the setting mode screen press
to move
to:
cAlert
cMaintenance
cDisplay
and press
to select the menu.

Display mode
The LANGUAGE/UNIT screen will appear when
selecting the “Language/Unit” key and
pressing
.
Language: English or French
Unit: US — mile, °F, MPG
Metric — km, °C, L/100 km
You can select the language and unit using
the
button and pressing.
The settings are automatically saved when you
exit the menu by pressing the BACK button or
any other mode button.Warning mode
The warning mode can be selected to view any
warnings that may be present. Once the screen is
selected you have the option of skipping the
warning or viewing it in detail.
Warnings can be present for issues such as an
open door or low fuel. For more information about
potential warnings see “Vehicle Information Dis-
play indicator lights and warnings” later in this
chapter.Fuel Economy mode
The fuel economy mode can be selected to dis-
play the average fuel economy since the last
reset.

Language/units
The following display will appear when pressing
the SETUP button, then touching the
“Language/Units” key.
Select Language:
Touch the “Select Language” key. From the fol-
lowing display, select the English “ON” key or the
Français “ON” key for your language preference.
Select Units:
Touch the “Select Units” key. From the following
display, select the US “ON” key or the Metric
“ON” key for your units preference.Unit: US — mile, °F, MPG
Metric: — km, °C, L/100 km
The settings are automatically saved when you
exit the menu by touching the “Back” key.
Phone settings
For information on the phone settings, see “Blue-
toothTHands-Free Phone System with Naviga-
tion (if so equipped)” later in this section.
Voice recognition settings
For information on the voice recognition settings,
see “Voice Recognition System (if so equipped)”
later in this section.
Audio settings
For information on the audio settings, see “Audio
System” later in this section.
Navigation settings
Refer to the separate Navigation System Own-
er’s Manual for information regarding these set-
tings.
BUTTON
To change the display brightness, press
thebutton. Pressing the button again will
change the display to the dayor the
nightdisplay. Then, adjust the brightness
by touching thekey or thekey.
If no operation is done within 10 seconds, the
display will return to the previous display.
