The rear window wiper and washer operate
when the ignition switch is in the ON position.
Turn the switch clockwise from the OFF position
to operate the wiper.
*1Intermittent (INT) — intermittent operation (not
adjustable)
*2Low (ON) — continuous low speed operation
Push the switch forward*3to operate the
washer. Then the wiper will also operate several
times.

To defog/defrost the rear window glass and
outside mirrors (if so equipped), start the engine
and push the switch
*1on. The indicator light
*2will illuminate. Push the switch again to turn
the defroster off.
It will automatically turn off in approximately 15
minutes.
CAUTION
When cleaning the inner side of the rear
window, be careful not to scratch or
damage the rear window defroster.

*1Turn signalGUID-3CF2F736-4960-4B96-B5CF-1271A559F90AMove the lever up or down to signal the turning
direction. When the turn is completed, the turn
signals cancel automatically.
*2Lane change signalGUID-BCAE5264-DA08-4A37-B0F2-FDE7D90FCC8FTo indicate a lane change, move the lever up or
down to the point where lights begin flashing.

FOG LIGHT SWITCH (if so equipped)GUID-8A44D476-039A-440B-9B7F-71C22E22C8D1To turn the fog lights on, turn the headlight
switch to the
position, then turn the switch
to the
position. To turn them off, turn the
switch to the OFF position.
The headlights must be on for the fog lights to
operate.
When the headlight switch is in the AUTO
position, turning the fog light switch to the
position will turn on the headlights, fog lights
and the other lights while the ignition switch is in
the ON position or the engine is running.

To sound the horn, push the center pad area of
the steering wheel.
WARNING
Do not disassemble the horn. Doing so
could affect proper operation of the
supplemental front air bag system.
Tampering with the supplemental front
air bag system may result in serious
personal injury.

.When theorposition is selected,
the air conditioner will automatically turn on.
This will dehumidify the air and help to defog
the windows. The A/C indicator light will
illuminate when the air conditioner automa-
tically turns on. The air conditioner and A/C
indicator light will remain on in all flow
control modes until the A/C button is
pushed or the fan control dial is turned to off.
Fan speed control:

increase the fan speed.
Turn the fan speed control
dial counter-
clockwise to decrease the fan speed.
A/C (Air Conditioner) operation:

conditioner. When the air conditioner is on, the
A/C indicator light on the button illuminates. Temperature control:

desired temperature. Turn the dial between the
middle and the right position to select the hot
temperature. Turn the dial between the middle
and the left position to select the cool tempera-
ture.

outlets.
1. Move the air intake lever to the
position.
2. Turn the air flow control dial to the
position.
3. Turn the fan speed control
dial to the
desired position.
4. Turn the temperature control dial to the desired position between the middle and the
hot (right) position.
Ventilation:

center ventilators.
1. Move the air intake lever to the
position.
2. Turn the air flow control dial to the
position. 3. Turn the fan speed control
dial to the
desired position.
Defrosting or defogging:

to defrost/defog the windows.
1. Move the air intake lever to the
position.
2. Turn the air flow control dial to the
position.
3. Turn the fan speed control
dial to the
desired position.
4. Turn the temperature control dial to the desired position between the middle and the
hot (right) position.
. To remove frost from the outside surface of
the windshield quickly, turn the temperature
control dial to the maximum hot position and
the fan speed control
dial to the
maximum position.
. When the
position is selected, the air
conditioner will automatically turn on. This
will dehumidify the air and help to defog the
windows. The A/C indicator light will illumi-
nate when the air conditioner automatically
turns on. The air conditioner and A/C
indicator light will remain on in all flow
control modes until the A/C button is
pushed or the fan control dial is turned to off.

Bi-level heating:GUID-3448E018-0BC4-4D17-AD0E-3BB850F23C53This mode directs cool air from the side and
center vents and warm air from the foot outlets.
When the temperature control dial is turned to
the maximum hot or cool position, the air
between the ventilators and the foot outlets is
the same temperature.
1. Move the air intake lever to the
position.
2. Turn the air flow control dial to the
position.
3. Turn the fan speed control
dial to the
desired position.
4. Turn the temperature control dial to the desired position.
Heating and defogging:

windows.
1. Move the air intake lever to the
position.
2. Turn the air flow control dial to the
position.
3. Turn the fan speed control
dial to the
desired position.
4. Turn the temperature control dial to the desired position.
When the
position is selected, the air
conditioner will automatically turn on. This will
dehumidify the air and help to defog the windows. The A/C indicator light will illuminate
when the air conditioner automatically turns on.
The air conditioner and A/C indicator light will
remain on in all flow control modes until the A/C
button is pushed or the fan control dial is turned
to off.
Air conditioner operationGUID-6B0AC811-3583-46CD-A00A-10ACB2584EE9The air conditioner system should be operated
for approximately 10 minutes at least once a
month. This helps prevent damage to the air
conditioner system due to the lack of lubrication.
Cooling:

1. Move the air intake lever to the
position.
2. Turn the air flow control dial to the
position.
3. Turn the fan speed control
dial to the
desired position.
4. Push the A/C button on. (The A/C indicator light will illuminate.)
5. Turn the temperature control dial to the desired position between the middle and the
cool (left) position.
. For quick cooling when the outside tem-
perature is high, move the air intake lever to
the
position. Be sure to move the air
intake lever to the
position for normal cooling.
. A visible mist may be seen coming from the
ventilators in hot, humid conditions as the air
is cooled rapidly. This does not indicate a
malfunction.
Dehumidified heating:

air.
1. Move the air intake lever to the
position.
2. Turn the air flow control dial to the
position.
3. Turn the fan speed control
dial to the
desired position.
4. Push the A/C button on. (The A/C indicator light will illuminate.)
5. Turn the temperature control dial to the desired position between the middle and the
hot (right) position.
Dehumidified defogging:

dehumidify the air.
1. Move the air intake lever to the
position.
2. Turn the air flow control dial to the
position.

AUTOMATIC AIR CONDITIONER (with
Integrated Control System)

Automatic operation (AUTO)GUID-EA5A1D8F-7A77-47B0-ADB5-C8E5A7F686B7The AUTO mode may be used year-round as the
system automatically controls constant tempera-
ture, air flow distribution and fan speed.
To turn off the heater and air conditioner, push
the CLIMATE button to change to the Climate
Control Mode, then push the OFF button.
Cooling and dehumidified heating:

2. Turn the temperature control dial to set the preferred temperature. The temperature
range is between 608F (188C) and 908F
(328C) .
A visible mist may be seen coming from the
ventilators in hot, humid conditions as the air is
cooled rapidly. This does not indicate a mal-
function.
Heating (A/C off):

outside air temperature. Doing so may
cause the temperature to not be con-
trolled properly.
.If the windows fog up, use dehumidifiedheating by pushing the A/C button (the
A/C indicator light will illuminate) .
Dehumidified defrosting/defogging:

indicator light will illuminate.)
2. Turn the temperature control dial to set the preferred temperature.
.To remove moisture or fog on the frontwindow quickly, set the temperature to
the high temperature and the fan speed
to their maximum level.
.After the windshield is cleared, push thefront defroster
button again. (The
indicator light will turn off.)
.When the front defrosterbutton is
pushed, the air conditioner will automa- tically turn on to defog the windshield.
The outside air circulation mode will be
selected to improve the defogging per-
formance.
.When theposition is selected, the
air recirculation mode cannot be turned
on to prevent the windows from being
fogged up.
Manual operationGUID-3EFCC2B5-D341-447E-B937-C69EC1981FF8The manual mode can be used to control the
heater and air conditioner to your desired
settings.
To turn off the heater and air conditioner, push
the OFF button.
If the Drive Mode is indicated on the screen,
push the CLIMATE button to change to the
Climate Control Mode, then push the OFF
button.
Fan speed control:
