3. Push the fan speed control buttons to setthe desired fan speed.
4. Push the A/C button on. (The A/C indicator light will illuminate.)
5. Push the temperature control buttons to set the desired temperature between the middle
and the cool position.
. For quick cooling when the outside tem-
perature is high, push the air recirculation
button to switch to the air recirculation
mode. (The indicator light turns on.) Be sure
to turn off the air recirculation mode for
normal cooling.
. A visible mist may be seen coming from the
ventilators in hot, humid conditions as the air
is cooled rapidly. This does not indicate a
malfunction.
Dehumidified heating:

air.
1. Push the outside air circulation ª
º button
to switch to the outside air circulation mode.
(The indicator light turns on.)
2. Push the air flow control button to change to the
position.
3. Push the fan speed control buttons to the desired fan speed. 4. Push the A/C button on. (The A/C indicator
light will illuminate.)
5. Push the temperature control buttons to set the desired temperature between the middle
and the hot position.
Dehumidified or defrosting/defogging:
GUID-D73A39BF-43C8-459F-9C24-47B7F579C407This mode is used to defog the windows and
dehumidify the air.
1. Push the front defroster button
on. (The
indicator light turns on.)
2. Push the fan speed control buttons to set the desired fan speed.
3. Push the temperature control buttons to set the desired temperature.
When the
mode is selected, the air
conditioner will automatically turn on. This will
dehumidify the air and help to defog the
windows.
To remove frost from the outside surface of the
windshield quickly, set the temperature to the
maximum hot position and the fan speed to
maximum position.

Operating from front control buttons:GUID-D73A39BF-43C8-459F-9C24-47B7F579C407To control the rear air conditioning system
independently with the front air conditioner
control panel, push the ªREARº button. When
the rear air conditioning system control is on, the
indicator light on the ªREARº button will
illuminate and ªREARº will appear on the display.
In this state, the rear air conditioning system can
be adjusted with the front air conditioner control
panel. However, if no operation is conducted for
approximately 10 seconds after the ªREARº
button is pushed, the front air conditioner
control panel will automatically switch to the
front air conditioning mode.
To cancel the rear air conditioning mode and
switch back to the front air conditioning mode,
push ªREARº button one more time.
. Temperature control
Push the temperature control buttons

º and ªº) to set the desired
temperature.
. Fan speed control
Push the fan speed control ª

conditioning system is turned on and

. Rear Heating (A/C off)
1. Push the ªREARº button to display ªREARº on the front display when the rear air
conditioning system is on.
2. Switch the air flow mode to
by pressing
the ªMODEº button.
3. If the A/C indicator light illuminates, push the ªA/Cº button. (The A/C indicator light will
turn off.)
4. Push the temperature control buttons

º and ªº) to set the desired
temperature between the middle and the
hot position.
. To dehumidify the air, push the ªA/Cº button
before turning on the heater. .
Air does not blow out from the vents on the
ceiling when the system is used for heating.

system automatically controls constant tempera-
ture, air flow distribution and fan speed after the
desired temperature is set manually.
To turn the heater and air conditioner on or off,

automatic air conditioning system using the
control switches located on the ceiling above
the rear seats (models with NISSAN mobile
entertainment system) or on the upper left side
of the second row seat (models without
NISSAN mobile entertainment system) .
The rear control buttons do not function when

º is shown on the front display. To activate
the rear control buttons, push the ªREARº
button on the front air conditioner control panel
and cancel the rear air conditioner control mode
(ª
º will disappear from the front display) .

WARNING
The air conditioner contains refrigerant
under high pressure. To avoid personal
injury, any air conditioner service
should be done only by an experienced
technician with the proper equipment.
The air conditioner system in your vehicle is
charged with a refrigerant designed with the
environment in mind.
This refrigerant will not harm the earth's
ozone layer. However, it may contribute in a
small part to global warming.
Special charging equipment and lubricant are
required when servicing your vehicle's air con-
ditioner. Using improper refrigerants or lubri-
cants will cause severe damage to the air
conditioner system. (See ªAir conditioning sys-
tem refrigerant and lubricant recommendationsº
(P.9-6) .)
A NISSAN dealer will be able to service your
environmentally friendly air conditioner system.
IN-CABIN MICROFILTERGUID-FBD6ED65-584A-4CB3-A672-1784D5C222E1The climate control system is equipped with an
in-cabin microfilter which collects dirt, pollen,
dust, etc. To make sure the air conditioner heats,
defogs, and ventilates efficiently, replace the
filter in accordance with the maintenance
schedule in the NISSAN Service and Mainte-
nance Guide. To replace the filter, contact a
NISSAN dealer. A natural grape seed polyphe-
nol filter (if so equipped) collects and neutralizes
dirt, pollen, dust, etc.
The filter should be replaced if air flow is
extremely decreased or when windows fog
up easily when operating heater or air
conditioning system.

Tips to help you achieve the most fuel economy
from your vehicle.
1. Use smooth accelerator and brake pedalapplication.
.Avoid rapid starts and stops..Use smooth, gentle accelerator andbrake application whenever possible.
.Maintain constant speed while commut-
ing and coast whenever possible.
2. Maintain constant speed.
.Look ahead to try and anticipate and minimize stops.
.Synchronizing your speed with traffic
lights allows you to reduce your number
of stops.
.Maintaining a steady speed can minimize red light stops and improve fuel effi-
ciency.
3. Use air conditioning (A/C) at higher vehicle speeds.
.Below 40 MPH (64 km/h) , it is moreefficient to open windows to cool the
vehicle due to reduced engine load.
.Above 40 MPH (64 km/h) , it is moreefficient to use A/C to cool the vehicle
due to increased aerodynamic drag.
.Recirculating the cool air in the cabinwhen the A/C is on reduces cooling load.
4. Drive at economical speeds and distances.
.Observing the speed limit and not ex- ceeding 60 MPH (97 km/h) (where
legally allowed) can improve fuel effi-
ciency due to reduced aerodynamic
drag.
.Maintaining a safe following distancebehind other vehicles reduces unneces-
sary braking.
.Safely monitoring traffic to anticipatechanges in speed permits reduced brak-
ing and smooth acceleration changes.
.Select a gear range suitable to road conditions.
5. Use cruise control.
.Using cruise control during highway driving helps maintain a steady speed.
.Cruise control is particularly effective in providing fuel savings when driving on
flat terrains.
6. Plan for the shortest route.
.Utilize a map or navigation system to determine the best route to save time.
7. Avoid idling.
.Shutting off your engine when safe for stops exceeding 30-60 seconds saves fuel and reduces emissions.
8. Buy an automated pass for toll roads.
.Automated passes permit drivers to use special lanes to maintain cruising speed
through the toll and avoid stopping and
starting.
9. Winter warm up.
.Limit idling time to minimize impact to fuel economy.
.Vehicles typically need no more than 30seconds of idling at start-up to effectively
circulate the engine oil before driving.
