1. Engine start operation indicatorGUID-3A8E6F2E-0AEB-4F35-B6FE-0018789257BCThis indicator appears when the shift lever is in
the P (Park) position.
This indicator means that the engine will start by
pushing the ignition switch with the brake pedal
depressed.
You can start the engine directly in any position.
2. NO KEY warningGUID-75410B7B-4F58-4067-BDFB-93074F70EDACThis warning appears in either of the following
conditions.
No key inside the vehicle:
GUID-D73A39BF-43C8-459F-9C24-47B7F579C407The warning appears when the door is closed
with the Intelligent Key left outside the vehicle
and the ignition switch in the ACC or ON
position. Make sure that the Intelligent Key is
inside the vehicle.
Unregistered key:
GUID-D73A39BF-43C8-459F-9C24-47B7F579C407The warning appears when the ignition switch is
pushed from the LOCK position and the key
cannot be recognized by the system. You cannot
start the engine with an unregistered key. Use
the registered key.

3. SHIFT ªPº warningGUID-39C72E43-25FF-4A4F-B9A5-6B99999E8518This warning appears when the ignition switch is
pushed to stop the engine with the shift lever in
any position except the P (Park) position.
If this warning appears, move the shift lever to
the P (Park) position or push the ignition switch
to the ON position.
An inside warning chime will also sound. (See
ªIntelligent Key systemº (P.3-13) .)
4. ªPUSHº warningGUID-8B1B73E4-768D-4801-A346-AFE043207C1EThis warning appears when the shift lever is
moved to the P (Park) position with the ignition
switch in the ACC position after the SHIFT ªPº
warning appears.
To push the ignition switch to the OFF position,
perform the following procedure:
SHIFT ªPº warning?(Move the shift lever to
ªPº) ?PUSH warning ?(Push the ignition
switch ?ignition switch position is turned to
ON) ?PUSH warning ?(Push the ignition
switch ?ignition switch position is turned to
OFF)
5. Key battery discharge indicatorGUID-967F63CE-1C05-4DC3-99FB-8F1F04EBE95FThis indicator appears when the key battery is
running out of power.
If this indicator appears, replace the battery with
a new one. (See ªIntelligent Key battery replace-
mentº (P.8-23) .)
6. Engine start operation for Intelligent
Key system indicator
GUID-0A04A4BE-EA21-48A0-88E9-6C87C0E9DC4DThis indicator appears when the Intelligent Key
battery is running out of power and when the
Intelligent Key System and vehicle are not
communicating normally.
If this indicator appears, touch the ignition
switch with the Intelligent Key while depressing
the brake pedal. (See ªIntelligent Key battery
dischargeº (P.5-11).)
7. Parking brake release warningGUID-029C1509-C86D-41F0-AE2B-6B98338F1BE8This warning appears when the vehicle speed is
above 4 MPH (7 km/h) and the parking brake is
applied. Stop the vehicle and release the
parking brake.

.The driver's door is unlocked.
. The last open door excluding the lift gate is
closed.
The interior light timer will be cancelled when:
. The driver's door is locked.
. The ignition switch is pushed to the ON
position.
When the rear personal light switch is in the ON
position
*C, the rear personal lights illuminate,
regardless of any condition.
When the switch is in the OFF position
*A, the
rear personal lights do not illuminate, regardless
of any condition.

Ð remain on for about 15 seconds.
. any door is opened and then closed with the
ignition switch in the LOCK position
Ð remain on for about 15 seconds.
. any door is opened with the ignition switch
in the ACC or ON position
Ð remain on while the door is opened.
When the door is closed, the lights go
off.
The lights will also turn off after a period of
time when the lights remain illuminated
after the ignition switch has been pushed
to the OFF or LOCK position to prevent the
battery from becoming discharged.
Models with center multi-function control panel:
When the auto interior illumination is set to the
OFF position (see ªVehicle information and
settings (models with center multi-function
control panel)º (P.4-9)) , the lights will illuminate
under the following condition:

all Intelligent Keys that you have to the NISSAN
dealer.
CAUTION
.Be sure to carry the Intelligent Key
with you when driving. The Intelli-
gent Key is a precision device with a
built-in transmitter. To avoid dama-
ging it, please note the following.
Ð The Intelligent Key is water
resistant; however, wetting may
damage the Intelligent Key. If
the Intelligent Key gets wet,
immediately wipe until it is com-
pletely dry.
Ð Do not bend, drop or strike it against another object.
Ð If the outside temperature is below 148F (-108C) degrees, the
battery of the Intelligent Key
may not function properly.
Ð Do not place the Intelligent Key for an extended period in a
place where temperatures ex-
ceed 1408F (608C) . Ð Do not change or modify the
Intelligent Key.
Ð Do not use a magnet key holder.
Ð Do not place the Intelligent Key near an electric appliance such
as a television set, personal
computer or cellular phone.
Ð Do not allow the Intelligent Key to come into contact with water
or salt water, and do not wash it
in a washing machine. This
could affect the system function.
. If an Intelligent Key is lost or stolen,
NISSAN recommends erasing the ID
code of that Intelligent Key. This will
prevent the Intelligent Key from
unauthorized use to unlock the
vehicle. For information regarding
the erasing procedure, please con-
tact a NISSAN dealer.

MECHANICAL KEYGUID-65EB5236-29E3-4BF1-B902-8BE659CAAE13To remove the mechanical key, release the lock
knob at the back of the key.
To install the mechanical key, firmly insert it into
the key until the lock knob returns to the lock
position.
Use the mechanical key to lock or unlock the
doors and glove box, if they are equipped with a
key cylinder.

The power sliding door system can be operated
when all of following conditions are satisfied.
.The vehicle is stopped.
. Battery voltage is normal.
. The sliding door is unlocked.
. The fuel-filler door is closed (for driver's side
only) .
When the ignition switch is in the "ON" position,
the system can be operated in the above and
following conditions.
. Shift lever is set in the ªPº (Park) position.
If the conditions are interrupted when the power
sliding door is being operated, the operation
could be stopped. In this case, meet the
conditions above and the power sliding door
operation will return to normal.
You can also switch the power lift gate between
power and manual operation using the power
door main switch. (See ªLift gateº (P.3-26) .)

OPERATING SLIDING DOOR SWITCHGUID-EE7E773F-5BC9-4FC4-BFE3-DDC092853705To operate the sliding doors with the sliding
door switches, turn on the power door main
switch.
. When the sliding door is fully closed, push
and hold the sliding door switch on the
instrument panel for about 1 second. The
sliding door will automatically open to the
fully opened position.
. When the sliding door is fully opened, push
and hold the sliding door switch on the
instrument panel for about 1 second. The sliding door will automatically close to the
fully closed position.
. If the sliding door switch is pushed while the
sliding door is being operated automatically,
the door will start moving in the reverse
direction and stop at the fully opened or
closed position.
. The sliding doors can be opened by the
instrument panel switch

the sliding door is locked or the power door
main switch is in the OFF position.
OPERATING THE POWER SLIDING
DOOR WITH THE INTELLIGENT KEY (if
so equipped)

closed by pushing the button on the Intelligent
Key. (See ªIntelligent Key systemº (P.3-13).)
Sliding door one-touch unlock/open
function (if so equipped)
GUID-0F5030A9-0AB2-4D70-A34F-9846AF95FC6FThe sliding doors can be unlocked and opened
with a one-touch unlock/open operation. When
closed, the sliding door will not lock automati-
cally. To lock the sliding doors, manually lock the
inside knob before closing the sliding door or
push the LOCK button on the Intelligent Key
after the door is closed. See ªRemote keyless
entry systemº (P.3-21) .

. When the vehicle is parked near a parking
meter.
In such cases, correct the operating conditions
before using the Intelligent Key function or use
the mechanical key.
Although the life of the battery varies depending
on the operating conditions, the battery's life is
approximately 2 years. If the battery is dis-
charged, replace it with a new one.
Since the Intelligent Key is continuously receiv-
ing radio signals, if the key is left near equipment
which transmits strong radio signals such as
from a TV and personal computer, the battery life
may become shorter.
For information regarding replacement of a
battery, see ªIntelligent Key battery replacementº
(P.8-23) .
As many as 4 Intelligent Keys can be registered
and used with one vehicle. For information about
the purchase and use of additional Intelligent
Keys, contact a NISSAN dealer.
CAUTION
. Do not allow the Intelligent Key,
which contains electrical compo-
nents, to come into contact with water or salt water. This could affect
the system function.
. Do not drop the Intelligent Key.
. Do not strike the Intelligent Key
sharply against another object.
. Do not change or modify the Intel-
ligent Key.
. Wetting may damage the Intelligent
Key. If the Intelligent Key gets wet,

INTELLIGENT KEY OPERATING
RANGE

when the Intelligent Key is within the specified
operating range from the request switch

When the Intelligent Key battery is discharged or
strong radio signals are present near the
operating location, the Intelligent Key system's
operating range becomes narrower, and the
Intelligent Key may not function properly.
The operating range is within 31.50 in (80 cm)
from each request switch
*1.
If the Intelligent Key is too close to the door
glass, handle or rear bumper the request switches may not function.
When the Intelligent Key is within the operating
range, it is possible for anyone who does not
carry the Intelligent Key to push the request
switch to lock/unlock the doors including the lift
gate.

DOOR LOCKS/UNLOCKS PRECAU-
TION

Do not push the door handle request switch
with the Intelligent Key held in your hand as
illustrated. The close distance to the door
handle will cause the Intelligent Key system
to have difficulty recognizing that the In-
telligent Key is outside the vehicle.
. After locking with the door handle request
switch, verify the doors are securely locked
by testing them.
. To prevent the Intelligent Key from being left
inside the vehicle, make sure you carry the
key with you and then lock the doors.

period of time, the battery saver system will cut
off the power supply to prevent battery dis-
charge.

unexpectedly by erroneous operation of the

When a chime or beep sounds or the warning
displays, be sure to check the vehicle and
Intelligent Key.

WARNING
The Intelligent Key transmits radio
waves when the buttons are pushed.
The FAA advises that radio waves may
affect aircraft navigation and commu-
nication systems. Do not operate the
Intelligent Key while on an airplane.
Make sure the buttons are not operated
unintentionally when the unit is stored
for a flight.
It is possible to lock/unlock all doors and the lift
gate, activate the panic alarm and operate the
sliding doors/lift gate (if so equipped) by
pushing the buttons on the Intelligent Key from
outside the vehicle.
Before locking the doors, make sure the
Intelligent Key is not left in the vehicle.
The LOCK/UNLOCK button on the Intelligent
Key can operate at a distance of approximately
33 ft (10 m) from the vehicle. (The effective
distance depends upon the conditions around
the vehicle.) As many as 4 Intelligent Keys can
be used with one vehicle. For information
concerning the purchase and use of additional
Intelligent Keys, contact a NISSAN dealer.
The lock and unlock buttons will not operate when:
.
the distance between the Intelligent Key and
the vehicle is over 33 ft (10 m) .
. the Intelligent Key battery is discharged.
After locking with the remote keyless entry
function, pull the door handle to make sure the
doors are securely locked.
The LOCK/UNLOCK operating range varies
depending on the environment. To securely
operate the lock and unlock buttons, approach
the vehicle to about 3 ft (1 m) from the door.
