Second Row Safety Belt Stowage
If your vehicle has seats in the third row, there is a
sleeve on the second row outside safety belt to store the
safety belt while entering and exiting the third row of
the vehicle.
If your vehicle has a bench seat
in the second row,
follow this procedure:
Pull the belt out and slide the sleeve along the belt
until it reaches the patch of Velcro@ on the roof.
Simply press the sleeve against the Velcro patch to
secure it in place.
Do not have the second row outside safety belt stored if
someone
is sitting in the second row outside position. The
safety belt would not protect
the passenger correctly.
To release the second row outside safety belt, just pull
the sleeve away from the Velcro patch and use the safety
belt as usual. The sleeve should slide freely when not
in use.
~nere is
also a clip on the safety belt used to secure the
belt after it is disconnected from the mini-buckle. When
removing the second row bench seat, secure the loose end of the safety belt
in this clip. This will keep the safety belt
from dangling and possible striking something.
Dump and Stow Feature
The rear seats in your vehicle, except the Captain’s
chairs, can be folded forward. Use this feature for
exiting and entering third row seats.
Push adjustable head restraints
fully down. Fold the
seatback
flat on the seat. If the seat adjusts, slide it all the
way back. Release the rear set of hooks from the floor
pins; hang on to the straps as the seat folds forward.

Resynchronizing Your Remote Transmitter
Your Remote Lock Control System uses a continually
changing code for increased security. Normally, the
receiver
in your vehicle will keep track of this
changing code.
Loss of synchronization will occur if the transmitter
is activated more than
256 times while out of range
of the vehicle.
Loss of synchronization will occur after the battery
replacement if the transmitter is immediately
activated more than
16 times while out of range of
the vehicle.
If your key chain transmitter has stopped working, you
may need to resynchronize the transmitter to the vehicle
receiver. To do this, press the
LOCK and UNLOCK
buttons together and hold for at least seven seconds or
until the horn sounds if equipped with Content Theft
Deterrent. Check the transmitter operation.
Switchbanks
There are two sets of switchbanks located in the front of
the vehicle, The switches will vary with the options that
are on your vehicle. It
is useful to become familiar with
them since they are used frequently while operating
the vehicle.
Overhead Console Switchbank
This switchbank is located in the overhead console. The
switches that you may find
in this switchbank are the
Interior Lights Override, Power Sliding Door Override,
Power Sliding
Door, Power Rear Quarter Windows and
Sunroof.
If your vehicle does not have some of the
options controlled by these switches, there
will be a
blank button
in its place.
For more information, please see each of these features
in the Index.

Luggage Carrier (Option)
If you try to carry something on top of your
vehicle that is longer or wider than the luggage
carrier
-- like paneling, plywood, a mattress, and
so forth -- the wind can catch it as you drive
along. This can cause you to lose control. What
you are carrying could be violently torn
off, and
this could cause you or other drivers to have
a
collision, and of course damage your vehicle. You
may be able to carry something like this inside.
But, never
carry something longer or wider than
the luggage carrier on top
of your vehicle.
If you have the optional luggage carrier, you can load
things on top
of your vehicle. The luggage carrier has
slats and side rails attached to the
roof, as well as sliding
crossrails and places to
use for tying things down. These
let you load some things on top
of your vehicle, as long
as they are not wider
or longer than the luggage carrier.

NOTICE:
When using the accessory power outlet:
0 Maximum load of any electrical equipment
should not exceed
20 amps.
Be sure to turn off any electrical equipment
when not in use. Leaving electrical
equipment on for extended periods can
drain your battery.
To replace the cover on the rear outlet,
line up the tabs
at the back of the cover and
put the cover in place. Push
down the tab to secure the cover.
Power Sunroof (Option)
The sunroof has a sun shade to let in light without
opening the sunroof. Slide the shade back to open.
The power sunroof button
is on the fir right of the
overhead console switchbank. The sunroof has two
positions,
vent and full open. Press the
symbol on the
bottom
of the rocker switch
to open the sunroof
to the
vent position. To close the
sunroof from
the vent
position, press the ribbed
top part
of the button.
To
fully open the sunroof,
first open
it to the vent
position
as described above.
Press the symbol on the bottom of the button again and the
sunroof will slide all the way back.
To close the sunroof
from the
fully open position, press the ribbed top part of
the button and hold it down until the sunroof is closed.
If the sunshade is not already opened, it will open when
the sunroof
is opened to vent or full open.
I NOTICE:
The optional sunroof panel is not designed to be
removed. It is made to open and close but to
remain attached to the vehicle.
