Practical information
System which manages the duration of use of certain functions to retain a sufficient level of charge in the battery.
After the engine has stopped, you can still use functions such as the audio and telematics
s
ystem, windscreen wipers, dipped beam headlamps, cour tesy lamps, etc. for a maximum combined duration of about thir ty minutes.








Electrical energy economy mode
Switching to economy mode
Once this time has elapsed, a message appears in the screen indicating that the vehiclehas switched to economy mode and the active
functions are put on standby.
If a telephone call is being made at this time, it
will be maintained for around 10 minutes with
the Bluetooth hands-free system of your audio
system.


Exiting economy mode

These functions are reactivated automatically
next time the vehicle is driven.) To restore these functions immediately,start the engine and let it run for at least five minutes.

A flat battery prevents the engine from starting (refer to the correspondingsection).









Load reduction mode

System which manages the use of cer tain
functions according to the level of charge
remaining in the battery.
When the vehicle is bein
g driven, the load
reduction function temporarily deactivates certain functions, such as the air conditioning,
the heated rear screen...
The deactivated functions are reactivated
automatically as soon as conditions permit.

Towing the vehicle


Access to the tools

The towing eye is installed in the boot under
the floor.
To gain access to it: )open the boot, )lift the floor and remove it,
)remove the towing eye from the holder.
General recommendations
Obser ve the legislation in force in your country. Ensure that the weight of the towing vehicle is higher than that of the towed vehicle. The person at the wheel of the towed vehicle must have a valid driving licence.When towing a vehicle with all four wheels on the ground, always use an approved towingbar; rope and straps are prohibited. When towing a vehicle with the engine off, there is no longer any power assistance for braking or steering.
In the following cases, you must always call on a professional recovery service: - vehicle broken down on a motor way or fast road, - 4 wheel drive vehicle, - when it is not possible to put the gearbox into neutral, unlock the steering, or release theparking brake, - towing with only two wheels on the ground, - where there is no approved towing bar available...

)On the front bumper, unclip the cover by inserting the flat end of the towing eye in

Driving advice
Distribution of loads
)Distribute the load in the trailer so that theheaviest items are as close as possible to
the axle and the nose weight approaches the maximum permitted without exceeding it.
Air density decreases with altitude, thus reducing engine performance. Above1 000 metres, the maximum towed load must
be reduced by 10 % for every 1 000 metres of altitude.
Side wind
)Take into account the increased sensitivity
to side wind.

Cooling

To w i ng a trailer on a slope increases the
temperature of the coolant.
As the fan is electricall
y controlled, its cooling capacity is not dependent on the engine speed.)
To lower the engine speed, reduce your speed.
The maximum towed load on a long incline
depends on the gradient and the ambient
tem
perature.
In all cases, keep a check on the coolant
temperature.
)If the warning lamp and the
STOP warning lamp come on, stop the vehicle and switch off
the engine as soon as possible.



Braking

To w i ng a trailer increases the braking distance.
To avoid overheating of the brakes on a longmountain type of descent, the use of engine braking is recommended.

Tyres
)Check the tyre pressures of the towingvehicle and of the trailer, obser ving the recommended pressures.



Lighting
)Check the electrical lighting and signalling on the trailer.


The rear parking sensors will be deactivated automatically if a genuine PEUGEOT towbar is used.

Bonnet
)Open the left hand front door.


Before doing anything under the bonnet,switch off the Stop & Start system toavoid any risk of injury resulting from anautomatic change to STA R T m o d e .


Closing
)
Take the stay out of its suppor t slot. )
Clip the stay back into its housing. )
Lower the bonnet and release it at the endof its travel. )
Pull on the bonnet to check that it has
latched correctly.
)
Unclip the stay from its housing and place itin the suppor t slot to hold the bonnet open.

Do not open the bonnet under very windy conditions.When the engine is hot, handle the exterior safety catch and the stay with care (risk of burns).To avoid damaging electrical units,it is strictly forbiddento use a high pressure jet wash under the bonnet.




Opening
)
Lift the safety catch and raise the bonnet.


)Pull the release lever, located at the bottom
of the door aper ture, towards you.

Low fuel level
When the fuel tank minimum level is reached this warning lamp comes on in the instrument panel. There remainsapproximately 5 litres
of fuel in the tank.
When the warning lamp flashes there is very little fuel remaining in the tank.
The key cannot be removed from the lock until the cap is refitted. Removing the filler cap may cause an inrush of air. This vacuum is per fectly normal and results from the sealing of
the system.



























Fuel tank
Fuel tank capacity: approximately 50 litres.

A self-adhesive label on the inner face of thefiller flap reminds you of the type of fuel to use
depending on your engine.
Additions of fuel must be of at least 5 litres to be registered by the fuel gauge.


Filling


To fill the tank safely: )the engine must be switched off,)open the fuel filler flap by pressing at
its rear, )inser t the key in the cap, then turn it to
the left,
With Stop & Star t, never refuel with the system in STOP mode; you must switch off the ignition with the key.
)remove the cap and hook it onto the cliplocated on the inside of the flap, )fill the tank, but do not continue after the
3rd cut- off of the pump ; this could causemalfunctions. You must re
fuel as soon as possible to avoid running out of fuel.
If you run out of fuel (Diesel), refer to the
"Running out of fuel - Diesel" section.

Checks
If you have put in the wrong fuel for the engine of your vehicle, you musthave the fuel tank drained and filledwith the correct fuel before star ting the engine.
Fuel supply cut-off
Your vehicle is fitted with a safety system that
cuts off the supply of fuel in the event of animpact. When
you have filled the tank:)put the cap back in place,)turn the key to the right, then remove it from the cap, )close the flap.

Operation
When a petrol filler nozzle is introduced into the
fuel filler neck of your Diesel vehicle, it comes
into contact with the flap. The system remainsclosed and prevents filling.
Do not persist but introduce a Diesel type filler nozzle.

















Misfuel prevention (Diesel) * Mechanical device which prevents filling the tank of a Diesel vehicle with petrol. It avoids the risk of engine damage that can result from filling with the
wrong fuel.
Located in the filler neck, the misfuel prevention device appears when the filler cap is removed.

It remains possible to use a fuel can to fill the tank. In order to ensure a good flow of fuel,do not place the nozzle of the fuel can in direct contact with the flap of the misfuel prevention device and pour slowly.



Tr a v e l l i ng abroad

As Diesel fuel pump nozzles maybe different in other countries, thepresence of the misfuel preventiondevice may make refuelling impossible.
Before travelling abroad, werecommend that you check with thePEUGEOT dealer network, whether your vehicle is suitable for the fuel pumps in the country in which you want to travel.
