SPECIAL FEATURES OF
ALLOY WHEELS Bolt covers Alloy wheel bolts are covered by chrome trims. Use the yellow tool 4to remove the
trims before slackening the bolts.
Tool 4is located:
Ð on the saloon and 206 GTi 180, on the rear right inner panel of the boot,
Ð on the 206 SW, in the jack storage compartment. Fitting the spare wheel If your vehicle is equipped with a steel spare wheel, when fitting it, it isnormal
to notice that the bolt wash-
ers do not come into contact with the
rim. The spare wheel is secured bythe cone-shape of each bolt. Fitting snow tyres If you fit snow tyres that are mounted on steel rims onto your vehicle, it isessential that you use special bolts
available from your PEUGEOT dealer. Wheel anti-theft bolts* If your wheels are fitted with anti-theft bolts (one per wheel), the chrome-plated trim cap and then the plasticcover on the wheel must be removed,using tool
4, before slackening the bolt
using one of the anti-theft sockets(handed to you along with the dupli-cate keys and the confidential card ondelivery of your vehicle) and thewheelbrace 1.
Note: take a careful note of the code
number engraved on the head of the
anti-theft socket. This will enable youto obtain a duplicate anti-theft socketfrom a PEUGEOT de aler.

Rear lights (saloon, 206 GTi 180) Unclip the boot side trim.Remove the wing bolt.Release the light unit.Press the lug
Aand disconnect the
connector.Remove the foam.Move aside the tabs Band remove
the bulb holder.Change the faulty bulb.When refitting, ensure that the bulb holder and the light are repositioned
correctly.
Saloon, 206 GTi 180 206 SW
1. Direction indicators P 21 W.
2. Reversing lights P 21 W.
3. Brake lights/side lights P 21/5 W.Rear lights (206 SW) Unclip the top of the boot trim using a coin. Unscrew the two wing bolts using
the wheelbrace if necessary. Release the light unit.
Disconnect the connector. Move aside the tabs 1and remove the
bulb holder 2.
Change the faulty bulb. When refitting, refit the boot trim by engaging it from the bottom thenclipping the top.

Without lifting (four wheels on the ground)
You must always use a tow bar.
Saloon and 206 GTi 180 From the front or the rearAttach the tow bar to the towing eye. 206 SW From the front , attach the tow bar to the towing eye.
From the rear:Ð unclip the cover using a coin,Ð screw in the towing eye (located in the jack storage compartment) as far as it will go.
By lifting (two wheels only on the ground) It is preferable to lift the vehicle by the wheels.
Special features of the automatic gearbox When towing with all four wheels on the ground, the following rules mustbe adhered to:
Ð gear lever in position N,
Ð tow the vehicle at a speed less than 30 mph (50 km/h) over a dis- tance of not more than 30 miles(50 km),
Ð do not add oil to the gearbox.

Never use the radiator crossmember.

B. Serial number on the bodywork (location according to version).
C. Serial number on the fascia.
D. Tyres and paint reference. The label Don the driver's door centre pillar, near the hinges, gives:
Ð the wheel and tyre sizes,
Ð the brands of tyres* approved by the manufacturer,
Ð the tyre pressures: (checking of the tyre pressure must be carried out cold, at least every month).
Ð the paint colour reference*.
