rear seats if the front seat is in a
reclining position.

they are in use (high) and a storage
p o s i t i o n ( l o w ) . T h e y c a n b e r e m o v e d .
T o l o w e r t h e h e a d r e s t r a i n t s , p r e s s
the lug.
T o r e m o v e t h e m , p u l l u p w a r d s a s f a r
as the stop then press the release
control.
1 - Forwards-backwards
adjustment
Lift the control and slide the seat for-
w a r d s o r b a c k w a r d s .
2 - Head restraint height and angle adjustment
T o r a i s e t h e r e s t r a i n t , p u l l i t u p w a r d s .The adjustment is correct when the
upper edge of the head restraint is
level with the top of the head.
T h e h e a d r e s t r a i n t i s i t t e d w i t h a
f r a m e w i t h n o t c h e s , w h i c h p r e v e n t
t h e h e a d r e s t r a i n t d r o p p i n g d o w n
(this is a safety device in the case of
impact).
T o l o w e r t h e h e a d r e s t r a i n t , i t i s n e c -
essary to push simultaneously:
- the button located on the left- hand guide at the base of the
h e a d r e s t r a i n t f r a m e ,
- t h e h e a d r e s t r a i n t d o w n w a r d s .
T o r e m o v e t h e h e a d r e s t r a i n t , p r e s s
the lug.
The head restraint angle can also be
adjusted. 3 - Access to the rear seats

tery low" on the multifunction display.
T o r e p l a c e t h e b a t t e r y , r e m o v e t h e
s c r e w t h e n u n c l i p t h e c a s i n g u s i n g a
coin at the ring.
I f t h e r e m o t e c o n t r o l d o e s n o t w o r k
a f t e r t h e b a t t e r y h a s b e e n c h a n g e d ,
reprogramme the remote control.
Key in ignition
A buzzer sounds on opening the
d r i v e r ’ s d o o r , i f t h e k e y h a s b e e n l e f t
in the ignition. Programming the remote

IMMOBILISER
This locks the engine control sys-
tem as soon as the ignition has been
s w i t c h e d o f f a n d t h e r e f o r e p r e v e n t s
s t a r t i n g o f t h e v e h i c l e b y a n y o n e w h o
does not have the key.
The ignition key has an electronic
c h i p w h i c h h a s a s p e c i a l c o d e . W h e n
t h e i g n i t i o n i s s w i t c h e d o n , t h e c o d e
must be recognised for starting to be
possible.
Make a careful note of the
number of each key. This
number is coded on the la-
bel attached to the key.
The high frequency remote control
i s a s e n s i t i v e s y s t e m ; d o n o t o p e r -

there is a possibility that it may un-

DEADLOCKING
Deadlocking the doors is an addition-
al security device. When it is used it
means that the interior and exterior
door locking controls cannot open
the doors.
There are two methods of
operation:
- w i t h t h e i g n i t i o n k e y , u s i n g t h e
d r i v e r ’ s d o o r l o c k ;
- w i t h t h e r e m o t e c o n t r o l , w h i c h h a s t w o b u t t o n s :
A. Deadlocking/locking of the
doors and tailgate.
B. Unlocking. Using the key
To deadlock,
t u r n t h e k e y t o w a r d s
the rear of the vehicle.
To lock, w i t h i n 5 s e c o n d s o f d e a d -
l o c k i n g , t u r n t h e k e y o n c e m o r e
t o w a r d s t h e r e a r o f t h e v e h i c l e .
To unlock, t u r n t h e k e y t o w a r d s t h e
front of the vehicle.
Using the remote control
To deadlock
Press once on button A to deadlock
the vehicle.
T h i s i s i n d i c a t e d b y i x e d l i g h t i n g o f
the direction indicators for approxi-
m a t e l y t w o s e c o n d s .
A second press on button A w i t h i n
i v e s e c o n d s o f d e a d l o c k i n g c h a n g e s
this to normal locking.

To unlock
Press once on button B to unlock the
vehicle.
T h i s i s i n d i c a t e d b y r a p i d l a s h i n g o f
the direction indicators.
After deadlocking the ve-
h i c l e , t h e d o o r s c a n b e
unlocked only from the out-
side of the vehicle: if any-
o n e i s i n s i d e t h e v e h i c l e ,
unlocking is impossible from inside.
If the battery has been discon-
nected:
- The deadlocking remains ac- tive.
- It is possible to open one of t h e f r o n t d o o r s w i t h t h e i g n i t i o n
k e y , b u t t h e k e y o n l y o p e n s
the corresponding door.
It is dangerous to operate the
deadlocking if there is someone
inside the vehicle.
Keep your key number in a safe
p l a c e . I n t h e c a s e o f l o s s o r t h e f t ,
t h i s w i l l e n a b l e y o u t o o b t a i n a
n e w k e y .
Check that the batteries are still
charged.

IMMOBILISER
This locks the engine control sys-

ALARM
Setting and deactivating the
alarm system
Switching off the siren.
The alarm completes the security
equipment for your vehicle. It offers
t w o t y p e s o f p r o t e c t i o n .
- external p r o t e c t i o n : w h e n i t i s
s e t , t h e a l a r m s o u n d s if one of
the doors, the boot or the bon-
net is opened;
- internal p r o t e c t i o n : w h e n i t i s s e t ,
the alarm sounds if the sensors
detect air movement in the pas-
senger compartment (a broken
window), or movement within
the car.
The alarm also has an anti-tamper
function.
I f t h e r e i s a n a t t e m p t t o t a m p e r w i t h
t h e w i r e s t o t h e s i r e n , c o n t r o l u n i t o r
t h e b a t t e r y , t h e s i r e n s o u n d s a n d t h e
direction indicators light. Setting the alarm (external and
internal protection)
Switch the ignition off and get out
of the vehicle.
Deadlock the vehicle.
The doors lock.
The direction indicators light for

set.

Note:
w h e n t h e a l a r m i s t r i g g e r e d ,
the siren sounds for thirty seconds.
A f t e r t h e t h i r t y s e c o n d s i t s t o p s , b u t
the alarm remains set.
When the alarm is trig-
g e r e d , i f a d o o r , t h e t a i l -
gate or bonnet is not
c l o s e d c o r r e c t l y , t h e s i r e n
sounds for a moment. If
the vehicle is closed correctly in the
f o l l o w i n g 4 5 s e c o n d s , t h e a l a r m i s
activated and the direction indica-
t o r s r e m a i n o n f o r t w o s e c o n d s . I n
a l l c a s e s , t h e a l a r m i s a c t i v a t e d a f -
ter 45 seconds.
Disarming the alarm
(external and internal protection)
Press the unlocking button of the
remote control key.
The doors unlock.
T h e d i r e c t i o n i n d i c a t o r s l a s h f o r
t w o s e c o n d s .
T h e r e d l i g h t o n t h e s w i t c h g o e s o u t .
Note: i f t h e w a r n i n g l i g h t c o n t i n u e s t o
l a s h a f t e r d e - a c t i v a t i o n o f t h e a l a r m ,
it is a sign that the alarm has been
t r i g g e r e d . T h e l a s h i n g w i l l s t o p w h e n
t h e i g n i t i o n i s s w i t c h e d o n .

To recharge or replace the
battery:
- Turn on the ignition.
- You have 10 seconds after turn-
ing on the ignition to press the
i n t e r n a l p r o t e c t i o n s w i t c h 1 and
h o l d i t d o w n f o r t w o s e c o n d s .
- T h e w a r n i n g l i g h t l a s h e s r a p i d l y for three seconds.
