belt holder 2 ,
- pull the controls 3 to unlock the
seat back 4 ,
- r e m o v e o r l o w e r t h e h e a d
r e s t r a i n t s ,
- tilt the seat back 4.
Always start with the seat, never
the seat back (risk of damage).
BENCH SEAT
To fold the bench seat:- lift the front of the seat cushion 1 ,
- tilt the seat cushion 1 against the
f r o n t s e a t s , When repositioning:
- return the seat back to the
u p r i g h t p o s i t i o n ,
- f o l d b a c k t h e s e a t c u s h i o n ,
- reposition the buckles before locking the front of the seat
cushion.
Take care not to trap the seat
belts.

Although one of PEUGEOT’s main
c r i t e r i a w h e n d e s i g n i n g y o u r v e h i c l e ,
the safety of your children also de-
pends on you.
F o r m a x i m u m s a f e t y , p l e a s e f o l l o w
these precautions:

2 0 0 3 / 2 0 , all children under
the age of 12 or less than one
m e t r e i f t y t a l l m u s t t r a v e l i n
approved child seats suited to
their weight , o n s e a t s i t t e d w i t h

- statistically, the safest
seats in your vehicle for the
transportation of children are
the rear seats,
- a child weighing less than 9 kg
must travel in the "rearwards-
facing" position both in the
front and in the rear.
PEUGEOT recommends that chil-
dren should travel in the rear seats
of your vehicle:
- "rearwards-facing" up to the
a g e o f 2 ,
- "forwards-facing" over the age
of 2. "Rearwards-facing"

is installed on the
front passenger

ADVICE ON CHILD
SEATS
The incorrect installation of a child
seat in a vehicle compromises the
child’s protection in the event of an
accident.
Remember to fasten the seat belts
or the child seat harnesses keeping
the slack in relation to the child’s
body to a minimum, even for short
journeys.
For optimum installation of the "for-
w a r d f a c i n g " c h i l d s e a t , e n s u r e t h a t
the back of the child seat is in contact
w i t h t h e b a c k o f t h e v e h i c l e ’ s s e a t
and that the head restraint does not
cause any discomfort.
I f t h e h e a d r e s t r a i n t h a s t o b e r e m o v e d ,
ensure that it is stored or attached se-
c u r e l y t o p r e v e n t i t f r o m b e i n g t h r o w n
around the vehicle in the event of
sharp braking. Children under the age of 10 must not
t r a v e l i n t h e " f o r w a r d f a c i n g " p o s i t i o n
o n t h e f r o n t p a s s e n g e r s e a t , u n l e s s
the rear seats are already occupied
b y o t h e r c h i l d r e n , c a n n o t b e u s e d o r
are absent.
D i s a r m t h e p a s s e n g e r a i r b a g w h e n
a "rear facing" child seat is installed
o n t h e f r o n t s e a t . O t h e r w i s e , t h e c h i l d
w o u l d r i s k b e i n g s e r i o u s l y i n j u r e d o r
k i l l e d i f t h e a i r b a g w e r e t o i n l a t e .
Installing a booster seat
The chest part of the seat belt must
be positioned on the child’s shoulder
w i t h o u t t o u c h i n g t h e n e c k .
Ensure that the lap part of the seat
belt passes correctly over the child’s
thighs.
PEUGEOT recommends the use of

Changing the remote control
battery
Battery ref.: CR2016/3 volts.
W a r n i n g t h a t t h e b a t t e r y i s l a t i s g i v e n
by an audible signal accompanied by
the message "Remote control bat-
tery low" on the multifunction display.
T o r e p l a c e t h e b a t t e r y , r e m o v e t h e
s c r e w t h e n u n c l i p t h e c a s i n g u s i n g a
coin at the ring.
I f t h e r e m o t e c o n t r o l d o e s n o t w o r k
a f t e r t h e b a t t e r y h a s b e e n c h a n g e d ,
reprogramme the remote control.
Key in ignition
A buzzer sounds on opening the
d r i v e r ’ s d o o r , i f t h e k e y h a s b e e n l e f t
in the ignition. Programming the remote

Avoid pressing the buttons of your
remote control out of range of your
vehicle. You risk causing it not to
w o r k a n d t h e r e m o t e c o n t r o l w o u l d
then have to be reprogrammed (see
corresponding section).

IMMOBILISER
This locks the engine control sys-
tem as soon as the ignition has been
s w i t c h e d o f f a n d t h e r e f o r e p r e v e n t s
s t a r t i n g o f t h e v e h i c l e b y a n y o n e w h o
does not have the key.
The ignition key has an electronic
c h i p w h i c h h a s a s p e c i a l c o d e . W h e n
t h e i g n i t i o n i s s w i t c h e d o n , t h e c o d e
must be recognised for starting to be
possible.
Make a careful note of the
number of each key. This
number is coded on the la-
bel attached to the key.
The high frequency remote control
i s a s e n s i t i v e s y s t e m ; d o n o t o p e r -
a t e i t w h i l e i t i s i n y o u r p o c k e t a s
there is a possibility that it may un-
l o c k t h e v e h i c l e , w i t h o u t y o u b e i n g
a w a r e o f i t .
The remote control does not oper-

e v e n w h e n t h e i g n i t i o n i s s w i t c h e d
o f f , e x c e p t f o r r e p r o g r a m m i n g .
D r i v i n g w i t h t h e d o o r s l o c k e d m a y
make access to the passenger
compartment by the emergency
s e r v i c e s m o r e d i f i c u l t i n a n e m e r -
gency.
A s a s a f e t y p r e c a u t i o n ( w i t h c h i l d r e n
o n b o a r d ) , r e m o v e t h e k e y f r o m t h e
i g n i t i o n w h e n y o u l e a v e t h e v e h i c l e ,
even for a short time. Do not repeatedly press the buttons
of your remote control out of range
of your vehicle.
You run the risk of stopping it from
w o r k i n g a n d t h e r e m o t e c o n t r o l
w o u l d h a v e t o b e r e p r o g r a m m e d .
When purchasing a second-hand ve-
h i c l e , h a v e t h e k e y c o d e s m e m o r i s e d
b y a P E U G E O T d e a l e r , t o e n s u r e t h a t
the keys in your possession are the
o n l y o n e s w h i c h c a n s t a r t t h e v e h i c l e .
D o n o t m a k e a n y m o d i i c a t i o n s t o
the electronic engine immobiliser
system.
If the system does not function
correctly,
the central locking button

start.
