Seat belt not fastened warning light*
When the ignition is switched on, thisindicator light comes on if the driverhas not fastened his seat belt.
Front and side airbags warning light
The light will come on for a few secondswhen the ignition is switched on. With the engine running, illumination of this warning light is accompaniedby an audible signal and a messageon the multifunction display indicat-ing a fault in the air bags.
Consult a PEUGEOT dealer.
Battery charge warning light
This indicates one of the following:
Ð faulty operation of the charging circuit,
Ð slack battery or starter terminals,
Ð a cut or slack alternator belt,
Ð an alternator failure.
Consult a PEUGEOT dealer. Engine diagnostics warning light
This comes on each time the ignitionis switched on. If it comes on with the engine running, this indicates incorrect operation ofthe injection, ignition or emission con-
trol system. There is a risk of damageto the catalytic converter (petrolengine only).
Consult a PEUGEOT dealer.
Dynamic stability con- trol system (ESP/ASR) warning light
This comes on for a few secondseach time the ignition is switched on. If the warning light remains on or comes on with the engine running, itis accompanied by an audible signaland the message "ESP/ASR not
operational" on the multifunction
display; consult a PEUGEOT dealer. With the engine running and the vehi- cle moving, it flashes when the sys-tem comes into operation (if there is
a difference between the trajectoryfollowed by the vehicle and thatdesired by the driver). It lights permanently when the sys- tem is disarmed.

Water in diesel filter indicator*
Consult a PEUGEOT dealer as soonas possible. There is a risk of damage to the injection system. Passenger air bag disarming warninglight*
Illumination of this warning light is
accompanied by an audible signaland the message "Passenger air
bag disarmed" on the multifunction
display. If the passenger air bag is disarmed, the warning light comes on when the igni-tion is switched on and it remains on.
Always consult a PEUGEOT dealer if the warning light flashes.
Low fuel level warning light
When this light first comes on, you have enough fuel to drive at least 50 km. The tank capacity is approximately 50 litres. Diesel engine pre-heat warning light
Wait until the warning light goes outbefore starting the engine. If the temperature is high enough, the warning light comes on for less
than one second. You can start theengine without waiting.

Setting the parameters Press and hold button 1for two seconds to access the settings. The data
flashes, indicating it is ready to be modified. Then, individual presses on button 1allow you to scroll through the various data
in the following sequence:
Ð language in which the information is displayed,
Ð unit of distance (kms or miles),
Ð unit of temperature (degrees Celsius or Fahrenheit),
Ð time format (12 then 24 hour mode),
Ð hour,
Ð minutes,
Ð year,
Ð month,
Ð day.Pressing button 2allows you to change the data selected. Maintain the pressure
for rapid scrolling.After 7 seconds without moving, the main display returns; the modified data are now recorded.
DISPLAY B This enables the following informa- tion to be displayed:
Ð the time,
Ð the date,
Ð the outside temperature (this flashes when there is a risk of ice),
Ð the radio displays,
Ð a door check. The display shows you, by means of a graphic, whether a door is open.
Ð warning messages (e.g. ''battery charge low'') or information mes-sages (e.g. "fuel level low''), dis-
played temporarily. These can becleared by pressing button 1or 2,
Ð the trip computer.

DISPLAY C This enables the following informa- tion to be displayed:
Ð the time,

Changing the battery of the remote control
Warning that the battery is flat is given by an audible signal accompa-nied by the message ''Remote con-
trol battery low'' on the multi-func-
tion display.
To replace the battery, remove the screw then unclip the casing using acoin at the ring (CR 2016/3 volt bat-tery). If the remote control does not work after the battery has been changed,reprogramme the remote control.
THE KEYS The keys allow you to switch on the ignition and operate the passengerair bag disarming switch and the fuelfiller cap, as well as independentlyoperate the locks on the front doors. Central locking The keys allow you to lock or unlock the doors and tailgate from the frontdoors. If one of the doors, the tailgate (206 SW) or the rear screen (206 SW) isopen, the central locking does notwork. The remote control This performs the same functions as
the key, at a distance. Locking Press button
Ato lock the vehicle.
This is confirmed by fixed lighting of the direction indicators for approxi-mately two seconds. Unlocking Press button Bto unlock the vehicle.
This is confirmed by the rapid flashing of the direction indicators.
206 SW: Press and hold button Bto
unlock the vehicle and open the rear screen. Note: If the vehicle is locked and
unlocking is activated inadvertently, unless the doors are opened within30 seconds, the vehicle will lockautomatically (206 SW).
Avoid pressing the buttons of your remote control out of range of your
vehicle. You risk causing it not towork and the remote control wouldthen have to be reprogrammed. Locating your car
To locate your car in a car park, if you have locked it: 
press button A, the courtesy
lights come on and the direction indicators flash for a few sec-onds.
Key in ignition
A buzzer sounds on opening the dri-
ver's door, if the key has been left inthe ignition.
Programming the remote control  Switch off the ignition.
 Switch the ignition on again.
 Press button A.
 Switch off the ignition and remove the remote control key from the
ignition lock. The remote controlis now working again.

BONNET STRUT Secure the strut to hold the bonnet open. Before closing the bonnet, replace the strut in its housing.
To close Lower the bonnet and release it at the end of its travel. Check that thebonnet is locked.
FILLING THE FUEL TANK The tank must be filled with fuel with the
engine switched off .
Insert the key then turn it to the left. Remove the cap.
A label indicates which type of fuel to use. If you fill your tank, do not continue
after the third cut-off of the pump
nozzle. This could result in vehiclemalfunctions. The capacity of the tank is
approximately 50 litres.OPENING THE BONNET Inside the vehicle: pull the handle
on the left-hand side, under the fascia. Outside the vehicle: lift the catch
and raise the bonnet.
Always remove the key from the ignition whenleaving the vehicle, evenfor a short time. If an obstacle is detected
when operating the roof, you must reverse the movement of the roof.
To do this, press the control con-cerned. When the driver operates the roof control, he must ensure that noone is preventing correct closingof the roof. The driver must ensure that pas-
sengers use the sunroof correctly. Be aware of children when operat- ing the roof.

BONNET STRUT Secure the strut to hold the bonnet open. Before closing the bonnet, replace the strut in its housing.

Range The display shows the distance that can still be covered with the fuelremaining in the tank. Note: this figure may rise if there is
a change in driving style or road sur- face, causing a significant drop incurrent fuel consumption. If there are less than 3 litres of fuel in the tank, only three segments willbe displayed.
Current fuel consumption This gives the fuel consumption recorded during the last two sec-
onds. This function is only displayedwhen the vehicle is travelling atmore than 12 m.p.h. (20 km/h). Average consumption This is the ratio between the amount of fuel consumed and the distancetravelled since the computer waslast reset to zero.
Average speed This is obtained by dividing the dis- tance travelled by the period of timethe vehicle has been in use (with theignition on), since the computer waslast reset to zero. Distance travelled This shows the distance travelled since the computer was last reset tozero. After the trip computer has been reset to zero, the range databecomes meaningful only after thevehicle has been in use for a certainperiod.
