CRUISE CONTROL
System which automatically maintains
the speed of the vehicle at the value
programmed by the driver, without any
action on the accelerator pedal.
The cruise control is switched on
manually: it requires a minimum vehicle
speed of 25 mph (40 km/h) and the en-
gaging of fourth gear.
The cruise control is switched off man-
ually or by pressing the brake or clutch
pedal or on triggering of the ESP system
for safety reasons.
It is possible to exceed the programmed
speed temporarily by pressing the ac-
celerator pedal.
To return to the programmed speed,
simply release the accelerator pedal.
Switching off the ignition cancels any
programmed speed value. The controls of this system are grouped
together on stalk

The cruise control cannot, in any circum-
stances, replace the need to respect speed
limits, nor can it replace the need for vigilance
and responsibility on the part of the driver.
You are advised to keep your feet
near the pedals.

Programming
Turn dial 1 to the "CRUISE" po-
sition: the cruise control mode is
selected but is not switched on
(OFF).
Exceeding the programmed speed
Intentional or unintentional exceeding of the programmed
s p e e d r e s u l t s i n fl a s h i n g o f t h i s s p e e d o n t h e d i s p l a y .
Return to the programmed speed, by means of intentional or
unintentional deceleration of the vehicle, automatically ca n-
c e l s t h e fl a s h i n g o f t h e s p e e d .
Return to normal driving
Turn dial 1 to the "0" position: the cruise control mode is
deselected. The display returns to the distance rec order.
Set the programmed speed by
accelerating to the required
speed, then press button 2 or 3
(e.g.: 70 mph (110 km/h)).
Switch off the cruise control by pressing button 4 : the
d i s p l a y c o n fi r m s t h a t i t h a s b e e n s w i t c h e d o f f ( O F F ) .
Switch the cruise control back on by pressing button 4
again.
You can then change the programmed speed using but
tons 2
and 3 :
- by + or - 1 mph (km/h) = short press,
- by + or - 5 mph (km/h) = long press,
- in steps of + or - 5 mph (km/h) = maintained press. Operating fault
In the event of a cruise control malfunc-
tion, the speed is cleared resulting in
fl a s h i n g o f t h e d a s h e s .
Have it checked by a PEUGEOT dealer.
When the cruise control is switched
on, be careful if you maintain the
pressure on one of the programmed
speed changing buttons: this may
result in a very rapid change in the
speed of your vehicle.
Do not use the cruise control on
s l i p p e r y r o a d s o r i n h e a v y t r a f fi c .
On a steep descent, the cruise
control will not be able to prevent
the vehicle from exceeding the pro-
grammed speed.
To avoid any risk of jamming of the
pedals:
- ensure that the mat is posi-tioned correctly,
-
n e v e r fi t o n e m a t o n t o p o f a n o t h e r .

SPEED LIMITER
System which prevents the vehicle from
exceeding the speed programmed by
the driver.
When the programmed speed limit is
reached, pressing the accelerator pedal
no longer has any effect.
The speed limiter is switched on man-
ually: it requires a programmed speed
of at least 20 mph (30 km/h).
The speed limiter is switched off by
manual operation of the control.
The programmed speed can be
exceeded temporarily by pressing the
a c c e l e r a t o r fi r m l y .
To return to the programmed speed,
simply slow down to a speed below the
programmed speed.
The programmed speed remains in the
memory when the ignition is switched
off.
The speed limiter cannot, in any circum-
stances, replace the need to respect
speed limits, nor can it replace the need
for vigilance and responsibility on the
part of the driver. The controls of this system are grouped
together on stalk

Programming
Turn dial 1 to the "LIMIT" position:
the speed limiter mode is selected
but is not switched on (OFF).
Exceeding the programmed speed
Pressing the accelerator pedal to exceed the programmed
speed will not have any effect unless you press the pedal
fi r m l y past the point of resistance .
The speed limiter is deactivated temporarily and the pro-
g r a m m e d s p e e d , w h i c h i s s t i l l d i s p l a y e d , fl a s h e s .
Returning to the programmed speed, by means of intentional
or unintentional deceleration of the vehicle, automaticall y
c a n c e l s t h e fl a s h i n g o f t h e p r o g r a m m e d s p e e d . Return to normal driving
Turn dial 1 to the "0" position: the
speed limiter mode is deselected.
The display returns to the distance
recorder.
You do not have to switch the speed
limiter on in order to set the speed.
Switch the speed limiter off by pressing button 4 : the
d i s p l a y c o n fi r m s t h a t i t h a s b e e n s w i t c h e d o f f ( O F F ) .
Switch the speed limiter back on by pressing button 4
again.
Set the speed value by pressing button 2 or 3 (e.g.: 55 mph
(90 km/h)).
You can then change the programmed speed using but tons 2
and 3 :
- by + or - 1 mph (km/h) = short press,
- by + or - 5 mph (km/h) = long press,
- in steps of + or - 5 mph (km/h) = maintained press.
Switch the speed limiter on by pressing button 4 . Operating fault
In the event of a speed limiter malfunc-
tion, the speed is cleared resulting in
fl a s h i n g o f t h e d a s h e s .
Have the system checked by a PEUGEOT dealer.
On a steep descent or in the event
of sharp acceleration, the speed
limiter will not be able to prevent
the vehicle from exceeding the pro-
grammed speed.
To avoid any risk of jamming of the
pedals:
- ensure that the mat is positioned
correctly,

discs and/or drums, contact a

Diesel fuel additive level (Diesel
with particle emission filter)
The low level of this additive is
indicated by the display of this
warning lamp, accompanied by
an audible signal and a mes-
sage in the screen * .
When it occurs with the engine running,
this indicates the start of saturation of
t h e p a r t i c l e e m i s s i o n s fi l t e r ( e x c e p t i o n -
ally extended urban driving: low speeds,
long jams...).
A s s o o n a s t h e t r a f fi c c o n d i t i o n s p e r m i t ,
r e g e n e r a t e t h e fi l t e r b y d r i v i n g a t a s p e e d
o f a t l e a s t 4 0 m p h ( 6 0 k m / h ) f o r a t l e a s t
fi v e m i n u t e s ( u n t i l t h e m e s s a g e d i s a p -
pears and the warning lamp goes off).

Anti-theft system
T h e a u d i o e q u i p m e n t i s c o d e d i n s u c h
a way that it can only operate in your
v e h i c l e . I t w o u l d n o t w o r k i f fi t t e d i n a n -
other vehicle.
The anti-theft system is automatic
and requires no action on your part.
Press button C to increase the audio
e q u i p m e n t v o l u m e o r b u t t o n B to de-
crease it.
A continuous press of buttons B and C
adjusts the volume gradually.
AUDIO SETTINGS
Press button G several
times in succession to
access the bass (BASS) ,
treble (TREB) , loudness
(LOUD) , fader (FAD) ,
balance (BAL) and auto-
matic volume correction
settings.

is automatic after a few
seconds without any action or by press-
ing button G f o l l o w i n g c o n fi g u r a t i o n o f
the automatic volume correction. Adjusting the bass
When "BASS" is dis-
played, press button H
or I to change the setting.
- "BASS -9" for a mini-
mum bass setting,
- "BASS 0" for a stan-
dard setting,
- "BASS +9" f o r a m a x i m u m b a s s
setting.
Adjusting the treble
When "TREB" is displayed, press but-
ton H or I to change the setting.
- "TREB -9" for a minimum treble
setting,
- "TREB 0" for a standard setting,
- "TREB +9" f o r a m a x i m u m t r e b l e
setting.
Adjusting the loudness (LOUD)
This function automatically emphasises
bass and treble tones.
Press button H or I to switch the func-
tion on or off.
Note: bass, treble and loudness set-
t i n g s a r e s p e c i fi c t o e a c h s o u r c e . T h e y
can be set differently for the radio
o r C D .
The audio equipment can operate for
30 minutes without the ignition being
switched on.

Adjusting the front/rear sound
distribution (Fader)
When "FAD" is displayed, press
button H or I .
Button H increases the volume in the
front.
Button I increases the volume in the
rear.
Adjusting the right/left sound
distribution (Balance)
When "BAL" is displayed, press

right.
Button I increases the volume on the
left.
Automatic volume correction
This function automatically adjusts the
volume in relation to the speed of the
vehicle.

Notes on radio reception
Your car radio will be subject to phe-
nomena which do not affect domestic
radio sets. Both AM and FM reception is
subject to various forms of interference.

a u d i o e q u i p m e n t , b u t i s d u e t o t h e n a -
ture of the signals and the way in which
they are transmitted.
On AM, interference may be noticed
when passing under high voltage power
lines or bridges, or in tunnels.
On FM, interference may be the result
of increasing distance from the trans-
m i t t e r , d e fl e c t i o n o f t h e s i g n a l s b y o b -
stacles (mountains, hills, buildings,
etc.), or of being in an area which is not

RDS *
Using the RDS on FM
The RDS (Radio Data System) allows
you to continue listening to the same
s t a t i o n , w h a t e v e r f r e q u e n c y i t i s u s i n g
in the region you are travelling through. Press the "RDS" button
b r i e fl y t o s w i t c h t h e f u n c -
tion on or off.
The multifunction screen will indicate:
- "RDS" if the function is selected,
- "(RDS)" if the function is selected
but not available.
RDS station following
The display indicates the name of the sta-
tion selected. When the RDS is selected,
the radio searches continuously for the
transmitter which is broadcasting the se-
lected station with the best reception.
T r a f fi c i n f o r m a t i o n p r o g r a m m e ( T A ) Regional following mode (REG)
W h e n t h e y a r e p a r t o f a n e t w o r k , c e r -
tain stations broadcast regional pro-
grammes in the various areas they
serve. The regional following mode
allows you to continue listening to the
same programme.
To do this, press the
"RDS" button for
more than two seconds to switch the
function on or off.
A n y t r a f fi c i n f o r m a t i o n a n n o u n c e m e n t
will be given priority, whatever source
y o u a r e l i s t e n i n g t o ( r a d i o , C D ) .
If you wish to interrupt a message,
press the
"TA" button; this switches the
function off.
N o t e : t h e v o l u m e o f t h e t r a f fi c i n f o r -
mation is independent of the volume
of normal radio listening. You can
adjust it using the volume button.
The setting will be stored and will be
used for subsequent messages.
Search by type of programme (PTY)
This allows you to listen to stations broad-
c a s t i n g a s p e c i fi c t y p e o f p r o g r a m m e
( N e w s , C u l t u r e , S p o r t , R o c k . . . ) . When FM is selected,
press the "TA" button for
more than two seconds
to switch the function on
or off. To search for a
PTY programme:
- select the PTY function,
- press button J or L b r i e fl y t o s c r o l l
down the list of the different types of
programme offered,
- when the programme of your choice is displayed, press button J or L for
more than two seconds to carry out
an automatic search (following an
automatic search, the PTY function
is switched off).
In PTY mode, the types of programme
can be stored. To do this, press the pre-
selection buttons "1" to "6" for more
than two seconds. Press the corre-
s p o n d i n g b u t t o n b r i e fl y t o r e c a l l t h e t y p e
of programme stored.
EON system
This system connects stations which are
p a r t o f t h e s a m e n e t w o r k . I t p e r m i t s t h e
broadcasting of TA t r a f fi c i n f o r m a t i o n o r
of a PTY programme broadcast by a sta-
t i o n w h i c h i s p a r t o f t h e s a m e n e t w o r k a s
the station to which you are listening.
This service is available when you have
selected the TA t r a f fi c i n f o r m a t i o n p r o -
gramme or the PTY search by type of
programme.
Press the
"TA" button
to switch the function on
or off.
The multifunction screen will indicate:
- "TA" if the function is selected,
- "(TA)" if the function is selected but
not available.
