CHECKS
Check these components, or have them
checked by a PEUGEOT dealer, in ac-
cordance with the servicing booklet and
in relation to your engine.

Brake pads Parking brake
Brake disc/drum wear
Oil filter
Manual gearbox
Only use products recommend-
ed by PEUGEOT or products of
e q u i v a l e n t q u a l i t y a n d s p e c i fi c a -
tions.
At the start of winter, have
your battery checked by a
PEUGEOT dealer.
H a v e t h e fi l t e r e l e m e n t s r e -
placed regularly.
If you drive
i n d u s t y c o n d i t i o n s , c h a n g e
them twice as often.
Brake pad wear depends on
the style of driving, in particu-
lar for vehicles which are used
in town, over short distances.
It may be necessary to check the thick-
ness of the pads, even between ser-
vices. Where the parking brake travel
is too great or there is a re-
duction in the performance of
the system, the parking brake
should be adjusted, even be-
tween services.
Have the system checked by a
PEUGEOT dealer.
For any information relating to
checking the wear of the brake
discs and/or drums, contact a
PEUGEOT dealer.
C h a n g e t h e fi l t e r r e g u l a r l y , i n
accordance with the servicing
schedule.
This does not require an oil
change. Check the level in ac-
cordance with the manufactur-
er's servicing schedule.

Diesel fuel additive level (Diesel
with particle emission filter)
The low level of this additive is
indicated by the display of this
warning lamp, accompanied by
an audible signal and a mes-
sage in the screen * .
When it occurs with the engine running,
this indicates the start of saturation of
t h e p a r t i c l e e m i s s i o n s fi l t e r ( e x c e p t i o n -
ally extended urban driving: low speeds,
long jams...).
A s s o o n a s t h e t r a f fi c c o n d i t i o n s p e r m i t ,
r e g e n e r a t e t h e fi l t e r b y d r i v i n g a t a s p e e d
o f a t l e a s t 4 0 m p h ( 6 0 k m / h ) f o r a t l e a s t
fi v e m i n u t e s ( u n t i l t h e m e s s a g e d i s a p -
pears and the warning lamp goes off).
During regeneration of the particle emis- s i o n s fi l t e r , t h e n o i s e o f r e l a y s o p e r a t i n g
may be heard in the dashboard.
If the warning lamp stays on, contact a
PEUGEOT dealer.
