The warning lamps may come on
c o n t i n u o u s l y ( fi x e d ) o r fl a s h .
Certain warning lamps may come
on in two different modes. Only by
relating the type of lighting to the
operating status of the vehicle can
it be ascertained whether the situ-
ation is normal or whether a fault
has occurred.
INDICATOR AND WARNING LAMPS
Visual indicators informing the driver
that a system is in operation (operation
or deactivation indicator lamps) or of the
occurrence of a fault (warning lamp). Associated warnings
The switching on of certain warning lamps
may be accompanied by an audible sig-
nal and a message on the multifunction
screen.
When the ignition is switched on
Certain warning lamps come on for a
few seconds when the vehicle's ignition
is switched on.
When the engine is started, these same
warning lamps should switch off.
If they remain on, before moving off,
refer to the information on the warning
lamp concerned.

Operation indicator lamps

Left-hand
direction
indicato

buzzer. The lighting stalk is pushed
down.
Right-hand
direction
indicator fl a s h i n g w i t h
buzzer. The lighting stalk is pushed up.
Dipped beam
headlamps fi x e d . The lighting stalk is in the "Dipped
beam headlamps" position. Turn the control to the desired position
Main beam
headlamps fi x e d . The lighting stalk is pulled
towards you. Pull the stalk to return to dipped beam
headlamps.
Front
foglamps fi x e d . The front foglamps are
switched on. Turn the ring on the stalk rearwards twice to
switch off the front foglamps.
Rear
foglamps fi x e d . The rear foglamps are
switched on. Turn the ring on the stalk rearwards to switch
off the rear foglamps.
Diesel engine
pre-heating fi x e d . The ignition switch is at the
2nd position (ignition on). Wait until the warning lamp has switched off
before starting.
The duration for which the warning lamp is on
is determined by the climatic conditions.

Deactivation indicator lamps

This is accompanied by an audible signal and a message on the multifunction screen.
Warning lamp is on Cause Action/Observations
Passenger's
airbag
system fi x e d . The control, located on the
passenger's side of the
dashboard, is set to the
OFF
position.
The passenger's front airbag is
deactivated.
In this case you can install a
"rear facing" child seat. Set the control to the
ON position to activate
the passenger's front airbag. In this case, do
n o t fi t a c h i l d s e a t i n t h e r e a r - f a c i n g p o s i t i o n .
The passenger's airbag system is put into
service automatically when the vehicle is
started.
fl a s h i n g . The airbags system is faulty. Consult a PEUGEOT dealer.
ESP/ASR fi x e d . The button, located at the
bottom left of the dashboard,
is pressed. Its indicator lamp
is on.
The ESP/ASR is deactivated.
ESP: electronic stability
programme.
ASR: anti-skid regulation. Press the button to activate the ESP/ASR. Its
indicator lamp switches off.
From approximately 30 mph (50 km/h), the
system is reactivated automatically.
The ESP/ASR system is activated
automatically when the vehicle is started.

Warning lamps
When the engine is running or the vehicle is being driven, the switching on of one of the following warning lamps indicates a
fault which requires action on the part of the driver.
Any fault resulting in the switching on of a warning lamp must be investigated further by reading the associated message on
the multifunction screen.
If you encounter any problems, do not hesitate to contact a PEUGEOT dealer.
Warning lamp is on Cause Action/Observations
STOP fi x e d ,
associated
with another
warning lamp. It is associated with the
braking, the engine oil pressure
or the coolant temperature.
Stop as soon as it is safe to do so.
Park, switch off the ignition and call a
PEUGEOT dealer.
Braking fi x e d .

If the problem persists, have the system
checked by a PEUGEOT dealer.

warning lamp. The electronic brake force
distribution (EBFD) system has
a fault. Have it checked by a PEUGEOT dealer.
Anti-lock
Braking
System (ABS) fi x e d . The anti-lock braking system
has a fault. The vehicle retains conventional braking.
Drive carefully at reduced speed and contact
a PEUGEOT dealer without delay.
Dynamic
stability control
(ESP/ASR) fl a s h i n g .
The ESP/ASR regulation is
active. The system optimises traction and improves
the directional stability of the vehicle.
fi x e d . Unless it has been deactivated
with the indicator lamp on
the button on, the ESP/ASR
system is faulty. Have it checked by a PEUGEOT dealer.

Engine
autodiagnosis system fi x e d . The emission control system
has a fault. This lamp should switch off when the engine is sta
rted.
If it does not switch off, contact a PEUGEOT deale r
urgently.
fl a s h i n g . The engine management
system has a fault. Risk of destruction of the catalytic convertor.
Have it checked by a PEUGEOT dealer.
Low fuel level fi x e d w i t h t h e
needle in the red zone. W h e n i t fi r s t c o m e s o n t h e r e
remains approximately
5 litres
of fuel in the tank.
At this point, you begin to use
the fuel reserve. Refuel as soon as possible to avoid running
out of fuel.
This warning lamp will come on every time
t h e i g n i t i o n i s s w i t c h e d o n , u n t i l a s u f fi c i e n t
addition of fuel is made.
Fuel tank capacity: approximately
50 litres .
Never continue to drive until you run out
of fuel, as this could damage the emission
control and injection systems.
Maximum
coolant
temperature fi x e d w i t h t h e
needle in the red zone. The temperature of the cooling
system is too high. Stop as soon as it is safe to do so.
Wait until the engine has cooled down before
topping up the level, if necessary.
If the problem persists, contact a PEUGEOT
dealer.
Engine oil
pressure fi x e d . There is a fault with the engine
lubrication system. Stop as soon it is safe to do so.
Park, switch off the ignition and contact a
PEUGEOT dealer.

Warning lamp is on Cause Action/Observations
Battery
charge fi x e d . The battery charging circuit has
a fault (dirty or loose terminals,
slack or cut alternator belt, ...). This lamp should switch off when the engine
is started.
If it does not switch off, contact a PEUGEOT
dealer.
Door(s) open fi x e d i f t h e
speed is
below 6 mph (10 km/h).
One of the doors is still open. Close the door.
fi x e d a n d
accompanied
by an audible signal if the speed is
above 6 mph (10 km/h).
Seat belt not
fastened/
unfastened fi x e d .
The driver has not fastened or
has unfastened their seat belt. Pull the strap then insert the tongue in the
buckle.
Airbags temporarily.
This lamp comes on for a few
seconds when you turn on the
ignition, then switches off. This lamp should switch off when the engine
is started.
If it does not switch off, contact a PEUGEOT
dealer.
fi x e d . One of the airbag or seat belt
pretensioner systems has a
fault. Have it checked by a PEUGEOT dealer.

COOLANT TEMPERATURE
INDICATOR
System which informs the driver of the
changes in the temperature of the en-
gine coolant while driving.
With the engine running, when the nee-
dle is:
- in zone A , the temperature is correct,
- in zone B , the temperature is too
high; the max temperature warning
lamp
1 and the central STOP warn-
ing lamp come on, accompanied by
an audible signal and a message on
the multifunction screen.
You MUST stop as soon as it is safe
to do so.
Consult a PEUGEOT dealer. After driving for a few minutes, the tem-
perature and pressure in the cooling
system increase.
To top up the level:
wait for the engine to cool,
unscrew the cap by two turns to al-
low the pressure to drop,
when the pressure has dropped, re-
move the cap,
top up the level to the "MAX" mark
(circular line).
On petrol engines, the cooling of
the engine is managed electroni-
cally to reduce fuel consumption.
Consequently, the coolant tem-
perature levels are no longer sim-
ply linked with the external ambient
conditions and the use of the ve-
hicle.
For example, in town, it is normal
for the coolant temperature to be
slightly higher in cold weather than
in hot weather.

Press and hold button 1 for two seconds
t o a c c e s s t h e s e t t i n g s ; t h e d a t a fl a s h e s ,
i n d i c a t i n g i t i s r e a d y t o b e m o d i fi e d .
Then, each press of button 1 scrolls
through the various data in the following
order:
- language of information displayed,
- hours (12 then 24 hour mode),
- minutes,
- year,
- month,
- day,
- unit of temperature (degrees Celsius or Fahrenheit).
Pressing button 2 a l l o w s m o d i fi c a t i o n
of the data selected. Press and hold for
rapid advance (return to start after the
last possible value).
After 7 seconds with no action, the main
d i s p l a y r e t u r n s ; t h e m o d i fi e d d a t a a r e
now recorded.
Note: Pressing button 2 b r i e fl y d i s p l a y s
the ambient temperature for a few sec-
onds.
When the ambient temperature is be-
tween -3° and 3 °C, the ambient tem-
perature display on the screen takes
priority over the clock display.
This displays the following information:
- time,
- date,
- a m b i e n t t e m p e r a t u r e * ( t h i s fl a s h e s
when it is between -3 and 3 °C),
- audio system information,
- a door check (e.g.: ''left front door open''),
- warning messages (e.g. ''remote c o n t r o l b a t t e r y fl a t ' ' ) o r i n f o r m a t i o n
messages (e.g. ''economy mode
active''), displayed temporarily.
* With digital air conditioning only.

MONOCHROME SCREEN B
This enables the following information
to be displayed:
- time,
- date,
- a m b i e n t t e m p e r a t u r e * ( t h i s fl a s h e s when it is between -3 and 3 °C),
- status of the doors. The display shows you, by means of a graphic,
whether a door is open,
- warning messages (e.g. ''battery charge fault'') or information mes-
sages (e.g. "fuel level low''), dis-
played temporarily, can be cleared
by pressing button 1 or 2 ,
- trip computer. Setting the parameters
Press button
1 for two seconds to access
t h e s e t t i n g s . T h e i n f o r m a t i o n fl a s h e s t o
s h o w i t i s r e a d y t o b e m o d i fi e d .
Then, individual presses on button 1
allow you to scroll through the various
data in the following sequence:
- language in which the information is displayed,
- unit of distance (kms or miles),
- unit of temperature (degrees Celsius or Fahrenheit),
- time format (12 then 24 hour mode),
- hour,
- minutes,
- year,
- month,
- day.
Pressing button 2 allows you to change
the information selected. Maintain the
pressure for rapid scrolling.
After 7 seconds without operation, the
screen returns to the normal display
a n d t h e m o d i fi e d d a t a i s r e c o r d e d .
Note: Pressing button 2 b r i e fl y d i s p l a y s t h e
outside temperature for a few seconds.
When the ambient temperature is be-
tween -3° and 3 °C, the temperature
display takes priority over the time on
the screen.

BOOT FITTINGS
Rear parcel shelf
To remove the shelf:
- unhook the two strings 1 ,
- slightly raise the shelf, then remove it.
Warning triangle
Depending on the country of sale, a
warning triangle may be stored in the
boot.
There are several options for storing the
shelf:
- either behind the front seats,
- o r fl a t i n t h e b o o t .
12 V ACCESSORIES SOCKET GLOVE BOX
To open the glove box, lift the handle.
1. Handbook pack storage.
2. Cup holder.
3. Pen holder.
4. Spectacles storage.
5. Map storage.
6. Coin storage. It is supplied with power with the ignition
key in the accessories position (1 st notch).
