The air conditioning does not op-
e r a t e w h i l e t h e a i r l o w a d j u s t m e n t
control is in the "OFF" position.
To guarantee correct operation of
y o u r a i r c o n d i t i o n i n g s y s t e m , w e a l s o
recommend that you have it checked
regularly.
1. Air conditioning On/Off
T h e a i r c o n d i t i o n i n g i s d e s i g n e d t o o p e r a t e e f f e c t i v e l y i n a l l s e a s o n s , w i t h t h e
w i n d o w s c l o s e d . I n s u m m e r , i t p e r m i t s l o w e r i n g o f t h e t e m p e r a t u r e a n d i n w i n t e r ,
a b o v e 0 ° C , i t i n c r e a s e s t h e e f f e c t i v e n e s s o f t h e d e m i s t i n g . 2. Temperature adjustment
Turn the control from blue (cold) to
red (hot) to adjust the temperature to
suit your requirements. P r e s s t h e s w i t c h , t h e i n d i c a

tor light comes on.

These settings are recommended for

The air distribution can be adjusted
by placing the control in an interme-

1 to position 4 to obtain an
a i r l o w s u f i c i e n t t o e n s u r e
your comfort. Intake of exterior air.
Air recirculation.
The recirculation of interior air pre-
vents exterior odours and smoke en-
tering the passenger compartment.
The intake of exterior air prevents
a n d e l i m i n a t e s m i s t i n g o f t h e w i n d -
s c r e e n a n d s i d e w i n d o w s .
U s e d s i m u l t a n e o u s l y w i t h t h e a i r c o n -
d i t i o n i n g , a i r r e c i r c u l a t i o n i m p r o v e s
air conditioning performance.
U s e d i n a d a m p c l i m a t e , a i r r e c i r c u l a t i o n
m a y r e s u l t i n m i s t i n g o f t h e w i n d o w s .
Move the manual control 5 to the
right to the "Interior air recirculation"
position.
Move the manual control 5 to the left
to the "Exterior air intake" position as
soon as possible to prevent deterio-
ration of the air quality.

Automatic operation 2. Control by the AUTO programme
Press the "AUTO" button.
We recommend that you use
this mode: it provides opti-
mised automatic control of
a l l o f t h e f u n c t i o n s , p a s s e n g e r c o m -
p a r t m e n t t e m p e r a t u r e , a i r l o w , a i r
d i s t r i b u t i o n a n d a i r r e c i r c u l a t i o n , i n
a c c o r d a n c e w i t h t h e c o m f o r t v a l u e
that you have chosen. This system is
designed to operate effectively in all
s e a s o n s , w i t h t h e w i n d o w s c l o s e d . Note:
f o r y o u r c o m f o r t , t h e v a l u e s
s e t w h e n t h e e n g i n e i s s w i t c h e d o f f
are retained on re-starting if the tem-
perature in the passenger compart-
m e n t h a s n o t c h a n g e d s i g n i i c a n t l y ;
o t h e r w i s e , o p e r a t i o n r e s u m e s i n a u -
tomatic mode.
W h e n t h e e n g i n e i s c o l d , t o p r e v e n t
t o o g r e a t a d i s t r i b u t i o n o f c o l d a i r , t h e
v e n t i l a t i o n w i l l o n l y r e a c h i t s o p t i m u m
level gradually.
O n e n t e r i n g t h e v e h i c l e , i f t h e i n t e r i o r
t e m p e r a t u r e i s m u c h c o l d e r o r w a r m -
e r t h a n i s c o m f o r t a b l e , t h e r e i s n o
need to change the value displayed
in order to reach the required level of
comfort. The system eliminates the
temperature difference automatically
and as quickly as possible.
Manual operation
I f y o u w i s h , y o u c a n m a k e a d i f f e r e n t
choice from that offered by the sys-
tem by changing a setting. The other
f u n c t i o n s w i l l s t i l l b e c o n t r o l l e d a u t o -
matically.
Pressing the AUTO button returns
the system to completely automatic
operation.
1. Temperature adjustment
The value indicated on the
display corresponds to a level
of comfort and not to a tem-
perature in degrees Celsius
or Fahrenheit.
P r e s s t h e a r r o w s 1 ( u p a n d d o w n ) t o
change this value. A setting around
21 enables a comfortable tempera-
ture to be obtained.

cooling.
The symbol ECO is displayed.
Automatic operation of the air condi-

times in succession enables

- the centre and side vents and t h e f o o t w e l l s ,

ibility" button again reactivates the
s y s t e m w i t h t h e v a l u e s s e t b e f o r e i t
w a s s w i t c h e d o f f .

w e a t h e r , y o u a r e a d v i s e d t o a v o i d
using the
ECO mode.

rear seats if the front seat is in a
reclining position.

1 - Forwards-backwards
adjustment
Lift the control and slide the seat for-
w a r d s o r b a c k w a r d s .
2 - Head restraint height and angle adjustment
T o r a i s e t h e r e s t r a i n t , p u l l i t u p w a r d s .The adjustment is correct when the
upper edge of the head restraint is
level with the top of the head.

t h e h e a d r e s t r a i n t d r o p p i n g d o w n
(this is a safety device in the case of
impact).

essary to push simultaneously:
- the button located on the left- hand guide at the base of the
h e a d r e s t r a i n t f r a m e ,
- t h e h e a d r e s t r a i n t d o w n w a r d s .
T o r e m o v e t h e h e a d r e s t r a i n t , p r e s s
the lug.
The head restraint angle can also be

REAR SEATS
To fold the rear seats:- lift the front of the seat cushion 1 ,

- reposition the buckles before locking the front of the seat
cushion.

- f o l d b a c k t h e s e a t c u s h i o n ,
- reposition the buckles before locking the front of the seat
cushion.

TRANSPORTING LONG
OBJECTS
Front seat:
- F o l d t h e s e a t b a c k t o w a r d s t h e
front using the control 5
(see corresponding paragraph).
Removing the rear seat
- Tilt the seat cushion against the
front seats.
- Squeeze the seat fasteners to release them from their
attachments.
- Remove the seat cushion. Folding seat back
- Remove the head restraint for
complete folding of the seat
back.
- Push handle 5 t o w a r d s t h e r e a r
to tilt the seat back.
Rear seat:
- Remove the seat cushion.
- Tilt the seat back.
