The four speed automatic gearbox

Gear selection gate
F Move the lever in the gate to
select a position.
The indicator light corresponding to the position selected appears
on the instrument panel screen.
P ark: to immobilise the vehicle and
to start the engine , w i t h t h e h a n d-
brake on or off.
R everse: to reverse (select this
p o s i t i o n w i t h t h e v e h i c l e s t a t i o n a r y ,
engine at idle).
N eutral: to start the engine and to
park , w i t h t h e h a n d b r a k e o n .
If position N is inadvertently engaged
w h i l e d r i v i n g , a l l o w t h e e n g i n e t o r e -
turn to idle before engaging position D
to accelerate.
D rive: for driving in automatic mode.
Manual: for selection of gears.
S : sport programme.
T : s n o w p r o g r a m m e . Moving Off
W i t h t h e e n g i n e r u n n i n g , t o m o v e o f f
from position
P:
F it is essential to press the
brake pedal to exit position P ,
F select position R , D or M , t h e n
gradually release the pressure
o n t h e b r a k e p e d a l ; t h e v e h i c l e
moves off immediately.
You can also move off from position N:
F r e l e a s e t h e h a n d b r a k e , w i t h y o u r
f o o t o n t h e b r a k e ,
F select position R , D or M , t h e n
gradually release the pressure
o n t h e b r a k e p e d a l ; t h e v e h i c l e
moves off immediately.
Starting the engine
F w i t h t h e h a n d b r a k e o n , s e l e c t
position P or N i n t h e g a t e ,
F turn the ignition key to the Start
position. WARNING
W h e n t h e e n g i n e i s a t i d l e , b r a k e s n o t
a p p l i e d , i f p o s i t i o n
R , D or M is se-
l e c t e d , t h e v e h i c l e m o v e s e v e n w i t h -
out the accelerator being pressed.
F o r t h i s r e a s o n , do not leave children
unsupervised inside the vehicle,
with the engine running .
When maintenance operations need
t o b e c a r r i e d o u t w i t h t h e e n g i n e r u n -
n i n g , a p p l y t h e h a n d b r a k e a n d s e l e c t
position P.

Fitting/removing the mat
When removing the mat on the driver’s
s i d e , p u s h t h e s e a t a s f a r b a c k a s p o s -
s i b l e a n d r e m o v e t h e i x i n g s .
W h e n r e i t t i n g , p o s i t i o n t h e m a t c o r r e c t -
l y o n t h e p i n a n d c l i p t h e i x i n g s . C h e c k
that the mat is secured correctly.
To prevent the mat from becoming
caught under the pedals:
- only use mats suited to the i x i n g s a l r e a d y p r e s e n t i n t h e
vehicle. It is imperative that
t h e s e i x i n g s a r e u s e d .
- n e v e r i t o n e m a t o n t o p o f another. - Clean off bird drop-
p i n g s , r e s i n o u s d e p o s -
i t s , t a r s t a i n s a n d g r e a s e
marks as soon as pos-
s i b l e ; ( t h e s e a l l c o n t a i n
s u b s t a n c e s w h i c h c a n
cause serious damage
t o t h e p a i n t w o r k ) .
- Do not use a dry or abrasive cloth or detergent or solvent
products to clean the double
l e n s , c o m p l e x s u r f a c e h e a d -
l a m p s a s t h e y a r e i t t e d w i t h
polycarbonate glass covered
i n a p r o t e c t i v e i n i s h .
- D o n o t u s e p e t r o l , o i l o r c l o t h stain removers to clean the
b o d y w o r k a n d p l a s t i c p a r t s o f
your vehicle.
- To prevent the development of b o d y w o r k c o r r o s i o n a s a r e s u l t
of accidental damage (stone
c h i p s , s c r a t c h e s , e t c . ) h a v e
t h e m r e p a i r e d s w i f t l y .

w o r k a m a t t a p p e a r a n c e ( e s p e -
c i a l l y v i s i b l e o n d a r k c o l o u r s ) ;
- u s i n g a h i g h p r e s s u r e w a s h e r : a l w a y s f o l l o w t h e r e c o m m e n d a -
tions on the equipment (pres-
sure and spraying distance).
If there are damaged areas on the
vehicle (painted bumpers or head-
l a m p s ) , i t i s n o t r e c o m m e n d e d t o
direct the high pressure jet onto
them. Wash these areas by hand.
A l s o a v o i d t h e e n t r y o f w a t e r i n t o
the locks.
