has been selected, you gain access to
the following parameters:
- selection of the palette of colours available for the display,
- setting of the brightness and bril- liance of the display,
- setting of the date and time (12 or 24 hour mode, adjustment of the
minutes on GPS),
- selection of the units (temperature in ° Celsius or ° Fahrenheit; consump-
tion in l/100 km or mpg or km/l).

"Video" menu
Sounds
Once the "Sounds" menu has been se-
lected, you gain access to the following
parameters:
- setting of the voice commands,
- setting of the voice synthesiser
(volume, male or female),
- activation of the auxiliary input AUX. Language selection
Once the "Language selection" menu
has been selected, you gain access to
the following parameters:
- selection of the display language
(Français, English, Italiano, Portugues,
Espanol, Deutsch, Nederlands),
- selection of the information and voice commands language (Français,
English, Italiano, Portugues, Espanol,
Deutsch, Nederlands).
You can connect video equipment
(camcorder, digital camera, DVD play-
er, ...) to the three audio/video sockets,
located in the glove box.
Videos can only be displayed when
stationary.
Once this menu has been selected, you
can select:
- "Activate video mode" to activate/ deactivate the video,
- "Video parameters" to set the display format, the brightness, the contrast
and the colours.
Press the "MODE" or "DARK" but-
ton to disconnect the displaying of
the video.
Press the "SOURCE" button se-
veral times in succession to select
an audio source other than that of
the video.
The RT4 GPS audio/telephone must
reinitialise and re-start in order to
change the voice used by the voice
synthesiser (male or female) or the
language used by the system.
For safety reasons, it is imperative
t h a t c o n fi g u r a t i o n o f t h e m u l t i f u n -
ction displays by the driver takes
place when stationary.

When the engine is cold, to prevent
too great a distribution of cold air,
t h e a i r fl o w w i l l o n l y r e a c h i t s o p t i -
mum level gradually.
In cold weather, it favours the dis-
tribution of warm air to the wind-
screen, the side windows and the
footwells only. On entering the vehicle, if the in-
terior temperature is much colder
or warmer than the comfort value,
there is no need to alter the value
displayed in order to obtain the re-
quired level of comfort. The system eliminates the temperature difference automatically and as quickly as
possible.
The air conditioning can only operate
with the engine running.
The driver and his front passen-
ger can each set the temperature
to suit their requirements.
Turn dial 2 or 3 to the left to reduce
the value or to the right to increase it.
A setting around 21 enables you to obtain
an optimum level of comfort. Depending
on your requirements, a setting between
18 and 24 is usual.
In addition, it is recommended that you
avoid a left/right setting difference of
more than 3.
4. Automatic visibility programme The automatic comfort pro-

to quickly demist or de-ice the
windscreen and side windows
(humidity, several passengers,
ice...).
In this case, select the automatic
visibility programme.
The system automatically controls the
a i r c o n d i t i o n i n g , t h e a i r fl o w a n d t h e a i r
intake and provides optimum distribu-
tion of the ventilation to the windscreen
and side windows.
Automatic operation
Press the "AUTO" button.
The "AUTO" symbol is dis-
played. 2. Driver’s side adjustment DUAL ZONE AUTOMATIC AIR CONDITIONING
We recommend that you use this mode:
it provides optimised automatic control of
all of the functions, passenger compart-
m e n t t e m p e r a t u r e , a i r fl o w , a i r d i s t r i b u t i o n
and air recirculation, in accordance with
the comfort value that you have selected.
This system is designed to operate ef-
fectively in all seasons, with the windows
closed. The value indicated on the display cor-
responds to a level of comfort and not
to a temperature in degrees Celsius or
Fahrenheit.

As a safety precaution, do not handle
the cartridge while driving.
Do not disassemble the cartridges.
D o n o t t r y t o r e fi l l t h e f r a g r a n c e
diffuser or the cartridges. Only use
genuine PEUGEOT cartridges.
Avoid any contact with the skin and
the eyes.
Store out of reach of children and
pets.
The intensity of diffusion of the fra-
grance may depend on the ventilation
or air conditioning settings.
FRAGRANCE DIFFUSER
System which permits the diffusion of
fragrance in the passenger compartment
in accordance with your requirements,
by means of the adjustment dial and the
various fragrance cartridges available.
Fitting the cartridge
Remove the sealing cap from the
cartridge.
Install the cartridge in the fascia.
Press the cartridge and turn it one
quarter of a turn.
Controls
A. Adjustment dial.
This dial permits simultaneous adjustment
of the ventilation and of the intensity of dif-
fusion of the fragrance. There are three
main positions:
0. Zero ventilation.
1. Maximum ventilation/Zero diffusion.
2. Maximum ventilation/Maximum
diffusion.
B. Fragrance cartridge.
This cartridge can be removed very
easily.
You can change it at any time and store
it, using the cap which seals it if it has
been partly used.
You can obtain different fragrance car-
tridges from your PEUGEOT dealer. Removing the cartridge
Turn the cartridge one quarter of a
turn.
Remove the cartridge from the fascia.

Do not discard the original car-
tridge as this is used as a closer
when you are not using a fragrance
cartridge.
To prolong the lifespan of the car-
tridge, set the dial to position "0" or
"1" as soon as you no longer wish
to diffuse the fragrance in the pas-
senger compartment.

Folding the seat (Saloon)
To fold a rear seat without any risk of
damage to it, always start with the
seat cushion, never the seat back :
move the corresponding front seat
forward if necessary,
raise the front of the seat cushion 1 ,
tilt the seat cushion 1 against the
front seat,
check that the seat belt is positioned
correctly on the side of the seat
back,
Repositioning the seat
(Saloon)
When repositioning the rear seat:
straighten the seat back 3 and secure it,
fold back the seat cushion 1 .
pull control 2 upwards to release the
seat back 3 ,
place the head restraints in the low
position or remove them if neces-
sary,
tilt the seat back 3 .
When repositioning the rear seat,
take care not to trap the seat belts. The seat cushion
1 can be removed
to increase the loading volume.

Folding the seat (SW)
This operation can be carried out at the
rear seats or through the opening rear
screen.
To fold a rear seat without any risk of
damage:
move the corresponding front seat
forward if necessary,
place the head restraints in the low
position, Check that no object could hinder
the movement of the bench seat,
either above or below.
Repositioning the seat (SW) The seat cushion lowers in order to
be covered by the seat back; this
q u i c k l y e n a b l e s y o u t o b e n e fi t f r o m
a fl a t b o o t fl o o r .
pull the control 1 forward to release
the seat back 2 which folds easily
onto the seat cushion 3 .
When repositioning the rear seat,
straighten the seat back 2 and lock it.
Check that the red indicator, located
at control 1 , is no longer visible.

MIRRORS
Exterior mirrors
Adjustable mirror permitting the lateral
rearward vision necessary when over-
taking or parking. Folding
from outside: lock the vehicle using
the remote control or the key.
from inside: with the ignition on, pull
switch A rearwards.
Manual model Adjustment
Move the lever in all four directions
to direct the mirror correctly.
The folding and unfolding of the
exterior mirrors can be deactivated
by a PEUGEOT dealer.
Folding
When parked, fold the mirror manually
to protect it.
Unfolding
Before starting, unfold the mirror.
Electric model
Adjustment
Slide switch A to the right or to the
left to select the corresponding mirror.
Move knob B in all four directions to
adjust.
Return switch A to the centre posi-
tion. Unfolding
from outside: unlock the vehicle using
the remote control or the key.
from inside: with the ignition on, pull
switch A rearwards.
The objects observed are, in reality,
closer than they appear.
Take this into account to correctly
judge the distance of vehicles approaching from behind.

High load retaining net (SW)
H o o k e d o n t o t h e u p p e r fi x i n g s a n d o n t o
the ISOFIX rings or the lugs, this per-
mits use of the entire loading volume up
to the roof:
- behind the rear seats (row 2),
- behind the front seats (row 1) when the rear seats are folded.
To use it in row 1:
o p e n t h e c o v e r s o f t h e u p p e r fi x i n g s 1 ,
unroll the high load retaining net,
position one of the ends of the net’s
metal bar in the corresponding upper
fi x i n g 1 , then do the same with the
other end,
slacken the straps fully,
fi x t h e s n a p h o o k o f e a c h o f t h e
straps on the corresponding lug 3 ,
located under the bench seat cushion,
fold the rear seats,
tighten the straps without raising the
bench seat,
check that the net is hooked and
tightened correctly. To use it in row 2:
fold or remove the load space cover,
o p e n t h e c o v e r s o f t h e u p p e r fi x i n g s 2 ,
unroll the high load retaining net,
position one of the ends of the net’s
metal bar in the corresponding upper
fi x i n g 2 , then do the same with the
other end,
attach the hook of each of the net’s
straps in the corresponding ISOFIX
ring 4 ,
tighten the straps,
check that the net is hooked and
tightened correctly.
When positioning the net, check
that the strap loops are visible from
the boot; this will make slackening
or tightening easier.

Disarming the rear window switches
Reinitialisation
Following reconnection of the battery or
in the event of a malfunction you must
reinitialise the operation of the electric
windows:
release the switch and pull it again
until the window closes completely,
hold the switch for approximately
one second after closing, Always remove the key from the
ignition when leaving the vehicle,
even for a short time.
In the event of contact during opera-
tion of the windows, you must reverse
the movement of the window. To do
this, press the switch concerned.
When the driver operates the pas-
senger electric window switches, he
must ensure that no one is preventing
correct closing of the windows.
The driver must ensure that the pas-
sengers use the electric windows
correctly.
Be aware of children when operating
the windows.
REAR QUARTER WINDOWS
On the 3-door versions, system for venti-
lation of the rear seats limiting the partial
opening of the window.
Opening
For the safety of your children, press
switch 5 to prevent operation of the
rear windows irrespective of their
position.
When the button is pressed down, dis-
arming is active.
When the button is raised, disarming is
deactivated.
Closing
Pull the lever to release the window.
Tilt the lever fully inwards to secure
the window in the closed position.
Tilt the lever outwards.
Push it fully to secure the window in
the open position.
press the switch to lower the window
automatically,
when the window has reached the
low position, press the switch again
for approximately one second.
The safety auto-reverse function is
not active during these operations.

LIGHTING CONTROLS
System for selection and control of the
various front and rear lights providing
the vehicle’s lighting. Manual controls
The lighting commands are made directly
by the driver by means of ring
A and
lever B .
lights off,
side lights only, dipped or main beam
headlamps,
B. lever for inversion of the lights by
pulling: dipped headlamps/main
beam headlamps.
In the lights off and side lights modes,
the driver can switch on the main beam
h e a d l a m p s d i r e c t l y ( " h e a d l a m p fl a s h " )
for as long as he pulls the lever.
Displays
The corresponding indicator light comes on on
t h e i n s t r u m e n t p a n e l t o c o n fi r m t h e s e l e c t i v e
switching on of the lighting selected.
Main lighting
The vehicle’s various front and rear lights
are designed to adapt the driver’s visi-
bility gradually in relation to the climatic
conditions:
- side lights, to be seen,
- dipped headlamps to see without dazzling other drivers,
-
main beam headlamps for good visibility
when the road is clear.
Additional lighting
Other lights are installed to respond to
particular driving conditions:
- rear fog lamps to be seen from a distance,
-
front fog lamps for even better visibility,
- directional headlamps for improved visibility around bends.
Programmes
Various automatic lighting control
modes are also available according to
the following options:
- "follow-me-home" lighting,
- automatic lighting,
- static directional lighting.
