indicates that one or more tyres
a r e p u n c t u r e d . I t i s i m p e r a t i v e
t h a t t h e v e h i c l e i s s t o p p e d a s s o o n a s i t
is safe to do so.

Anti-lock braking system
(ABS).
T h e l i g h t i n g o f t h i s w a r n i n g l i g h t
indicates the occurrence of a
f a u l t i n t h e a n t i - l o c k b r a k i n g
system.
H o w e v e r , t h i s d o e s n o t p r e v e n t t h e o p -
eration of the vehicle's assisted braking.
Any fault resulting in the lighting of
a w a r n i n g l i g h t m u s t b e t h e s u b j e c t
of further diagnostics by reading
the associated message on the
m u l t i f u n c t i o n d i s p l a y .
I f a p r o b l e m a r i s e s , d o n o t h e s i t a t e
to contact a PEUGEOT dealer.

Triggering
T h i s i s i n d i c a t e d b y s o u n d i n g o f t h e s i -
r e n a n d l a s h i n g o f t h e d i r e c t i o n i n d i c a -
t o r s f o r a p p r o x i m a t e l y t h i r t y s e c o n d s .
After it has been triggered, the alarm is
a g a i n o p e r a t i o n a l . If the alarm is triggered ten times in
s u c c e s s i o n , t h e e l e v e n t h t i m e w i l l
result in it becoming inactive.
If the indicator light on button A
l a s h e s r a p i d l y , t h i s i n d i c a t e s t h a t
t h e a l a r m w a s t r i g g e r e d d u r i n g
your absence. When the ignition is
s w i t c h e d o n , t h i s l a s h i n g s t o p s i m -
mediately.
T o a v o i d t r i g g e r i n g t h e a l a r m w h e n
w a s h i n g y o u r v e h i c l e , l o c k i t u s i n g
the key.
Do not activate the alarm before
d i s c o n n e c t i n g t h e b a t t e r y , o t h e r -
w i s e t h e s i r e n w i l l s o u n d . Failure of the remote control
Unlock the vehicle using the key in
the driver's door lock.
O p e n t h e d o o r ; t h e a l a r m i s t r i g g e r e d.
S w i t c h o n t h e i g n i t i o n ; t h e a l a r m
s t o p s .
Malfunction
W h e n t h e i g n i t i o n i s s w i t c h e d o n , l i g h t -
ing of the indicator light on button A for
ten seconds indicates a siren fault.
Contact a PEUGEOT dealer as soon as
p o s s i b l e .
Locking the vehicle without
alarm
Lock or deadlock the vehicle using
the key in the driver's door lock. Automatic operation *
D e p e n d i n g o n t h e l e g i s l a t i o n i n f o r c e i n
your country, one of these cases may
o c c u r :
- 4 5 s e c o n d s a f t e r t h e v e h i c l e i s
locked using the remote control, the
alarm is activated, regardless of the
status of the doors and boot.
-
2 minutes after the last door or the boot is closed, the alarm is activated.
To avoid triggering the alarm on
e n t e r i n g t h e v e h i c l e , i r s t p r e s s t h e
unlocking button on the remote
control.

The incorrect installation of a child
s e a t i n a v e h i c l e c o m p r o m i s e s t h e
c h i l d ' s p r o t e c t i o n i n t h e e v e n t o f a n
accident.
Remember to fasten the seat belts
or the child seat harness keeping
the slack in relation to the child's
body to a minimum , even for short
j o u r n e y s .
F o r o p t i m u m i n s t a l l a t i o n o f t h e " f o r -
w a r d f a c i n g " c h i l d s e a t , e n s u r e t h a t
t h e b a c k o f t h e c h i l d s e a t i s i n c o n -
t a c t w i t h t h e b a c k o f t h e v e h i c l e ' s
seat and that the head restraint
does not cause any discomfort.
I f t h e h e a d r e s t r a i n t h a s t o b e r e -
moved, ensure that it is stored or
a t t a c h e d s e c u r e l y t o p r e v e n t i t f r o m
b e i n g t h r o w n a r o u n d t h e v e h i c l e i n
t h e e v e n t o f s h a r p b r a k i n g .
Children under the age of 10 must
n o t t r a v e l i n t h e " f o r w a r d f a c i n g " p o -
s i t i o n o n t h e f r o n t p a s s e n g e r s e a t ,
unless the rear seats are already
o c c u p i e d b y o t h e r c h i l d r e n , c a n n o t
be used or are absent.

a "rear facing" child seat is installed
o n t h e f r o n t s e a t . O t h e r w i s e , t h e
c h i l d w o u l d r i s k b e i n g s e r i o u s l y i n -

When braking in an emergency,

t h e p r e s s u r e . W h e n r e p l a c i n g w h e e l s ( t y r e s a n d
rims), ensure that they conform to the
m a n u f a c t u r e r ’ s r e c o m m e n d a t i o n s .
Operating fault
I f t h i s w a r n i n g l i g h t c o m e s o n ,
a c c o m p a n i e d b y a n a u d i b l e
signal and a message on the
m u l t i - f u n c t i o n d i s p l a y , i t i n d i c a t e s
a m a l f u n c t i o n o f t h e a n t i - l o c k b r a k i n g
s y s t e m w h i c h c o u l d r e s u l t i n l o s s o f
c o n t r o l o f t h e v e h i c l e w h e n b r a k i n g .
I f t h i s w a r n i n g l i g h t c o m e s o n ,
t o g e t h e r w i t h t h e STOP and
ABS w a r n i n g l i g h t s , a c c o m p a -
nied by an audible signal and a
m e s s a g e o n t h e m u l t i f u n c t i o n d i s p l a y , i t
i n d i c a t e s a m a l f u n c t i o n o f t h e e l e c t r o n -
i c b r a k e f o r c e d i s t r i b u t i o n w h i c h c o u l d
result in loss of control of the vehicle
w h e n b r a k i n g .
You MUST stop as soon as it is safe
to do so.
In both cases, contact a PEUGEOT
dealer. Emergency braking assistance

Activation
T h e a n t i - l o c k b r a k i n g s y s t e m c o m e s
i n t o o p e r a t i o n a u t o m a t i c a l l y w h e n t h e r e
i s a r i s k o f w h e e l l o c k .
N o r m a l o p e r a t i o n o f t h e A B S m a y m a k e
itself felt by slight vibration of the brake
p e d a l . Activation
I t i s t r i g g e r e d b y t h e s p e e d a t w h i c h t h e
b r a k e p e d a l i s p r e s s e d .
The effect of this is a reduction in the
r e s i s t a n c e o f t h e p e d a l a n d a n i n c r e a s e
i n b r a k i n g e f i c i e n c y .

The quality of reception
of the radio station
listened to gradually
deteriorates or the
stored stations do
not function (no
sound, 87.5 Mhz is
d i s p l a y e d . . . ) . The vehicle is too far from the transmitter used by
the station listened to or
there is no transmitter in the geographical area th rough which the vehicle
is travelling.
T h e e n v i r o n m e n t ( h i l l s , b u i l d i n g s , t u n n e l s , b a s e m e n t c a r p a r k s . . . ) b l o c k
reception, including in RDS mode.
The aerial is absent or has been damaged (for examp le when going
t h r o u g h a c a r w a s h o r i n t o a n u n d e r g r o u n d c a r p a r k ) .Activate the RDS function to enable the system
to check whether there is a more powerful
transmitter in the geographical area.
This phenomenon is normal and does not
indicate a failure of the audio equipment.
Have the aerial checked by a PEUGEOT dealer.
Sound cut-outs of 1
to 2 seconds in radio
mode. During this brief sound cut-out, the RDS searches f
or any frequency
permitting better reception of the station. Deactivate the RDS function if the phenomenon
is too frequent and always on the same route.
With the engine off,
the audio equipment
switches off after a few
minutes of use. When the engine is switched off, the audio equipmen
t operating time
depends on the battery charge.
The switch-off is normal: the audio equipment switc hes to economy mode
and switches off to prevent discharging of the vehi cle’s battery.Start the vehicle’s engine to increase the battery
charge.
The message "the audio
system is overheated"
appears on the display. Switch the audio system off for a few minutes to
allow the system to cool.
In order to protect the installation if the surroun
ding temperature is too
high, the audio equipment switches to an automatic thermal protection
mode leading to a reduction of the volume or stoppi ng of the playing of the
CD.
