Dynamic stability control(DSC)
Activation
This system is activated automatically eachtime the vehicle is started.
It comes into operation in the event of a grip or
trajectory problem.
This is indicated b
y flashing of thiswarning lamp in the instrument panel.
Deactivation
In exceptional conditions (starting a vehicle
which is bogged down, stuck in snow, on soft ground...), it may be advisable to deactivate
the DSC system, so that the wheels can move
freely and regain grip.
The DSC system offers exceptional safety in normal driving, but this should not encourage the driver to take extra risks or drive at high speed.
The correct operation of the system depends on obser vation of the manufacturer's recommendationsregarding the wheels (tyres and rims),the braking components, the electronic components and the PEUGEOT assembly and operation procedures.
After an impact, have the system
checked by a PEUGEOT dealer or a qualified workshop.
Operating fault
If this warning lamp comes on,accompanied by an audible signaland a message in the screen, this
indicates a fault with the system.
Contact a PEUGEOT dealer or a qualified
workshop to have the system checked.
Reactivation
The system is reactivated automatically eachtime the ignition is switched back on or from 30 mph (50 km/h). )
Press the switch again to reactivate it
manually. But it is recommended that the s
ystem bereactivated as soon as possible. ) Press the switch.
The indicator lamp in the switch comes on: the
DSC system no longer acts on the operation of
the engine.

Safety
Deactivation
This warning lamp comes on in the instrument panel when the ignition is
on and until the airbag is reactivated.
To assure the safety of your child, the passenger's front airbag must be deactivated when you install a "rear facing" child seat on the front passenger seat. Other wise, the child would risk beingseriously injured or killed if the airbag were deployed.
If even one of the two airbag warning lamps comes on continuously, donot install a child seat on the frontpassenger seat.
Have it checked by a PEUGEOT dealer or qualified workshop.
Reactivation
When you remove the child seat, with the
ignition on , turn the switch to the "ON"
position to reactivate the airbag and so assure
the safety of your front passenger in the event
of an impact.
Operating fault
If this warning lamp comes on in the instrument panel, accompanied by
an audible warning and a message
in the screen, contact a PEUGEOT
dealer or a qualified workshop to have thesystem checked. The airbags may no longer be
deployed in the event of a serious impact.
If this warnin
g lamp flashes, contact
a PEUGEOT dealer or a qualified workshop. The passenger's front
airbag may no longer be deployed in
the event of a serious impact.
Only the passenger's front airbag can be deactivated: )Inser t the key into the passenger airbagdeactivation switch, )turn it to the "OFF"position, )then, remove the key keeping the switch in
the new position.

Lateral airbags
Deployment
The lateral airbags are deployed unilaterally in
the event of a serious side impact applied to all
or par t of the side impact zone B , perpendicular
to the longitudinal centreline of the vehicle on a horizontal plane and directed from the outside
towards the inside of the vehicle.
The lateral airbag inflates between the hip andshoulder of the front occupant of the vehicle
and the corresponding door trim panel.
System which protects the driver and frontpassenger in the event of a serious side impact
in order to limit the risk of injury to the chest,
between the hip and the shoulder.
Each lateral airba
g is fitted in the seat backrestframe, door side.
Impact detection zones
A.
Front impact zone.
B. Side impact zone.
Curtain airbags
System which protects the driver and passengers (with the exception of the rear centre passenger) in the event of a serious sideimpact in order to limit the risk of injury to the side of the head.
Each curtain airbag is built into the pillars and
the upper passenger compar tment area.
In the event of a minor impact or bump on the side of the vehicle or if the vehicle rolls over, the airbag may not be deployed.
In the event of a rear or front collision, the airbag is not deployed.
Deployment
The cur tain airbag is deployed at the same
time as the corresponding lateral airbag in the event of a serious side impact applied to all or
part of the side impact zone B , perpendicular
to the longitudinal centreline of the vehicle on a
horizontal plane and directed from the outside
towards the inside of the vehicle.
The cur tain airbag inflates between the front or
rear occupant of the vehicle and the windows.
If this warnin
g lamp comes on in the instrument panel, accompanied byan audible signal and a message in
the screen, contact a PEUGEOT dealer or aqualified workshop to have the system checked.

Checks
Low fuel level
When the fuel tank minimum level isreached this warning lamp comes on on the instrument panel. When it firstcomes on there remains approximately
5 litres of fuel in the tank. You must refuel as soon as possible to avoid running out of fuel.
If you run out of fuel (Diesel), refer to the
"Running out of fuel - Diesel" section.
The key cannot be removed from the lock until the cap is refitted. Removing the filler cap may cause an inrush of air. This vacuum is per fectly normal and results from the sealing of
the system.
Fuel tank
Fuel tank capacity: approximately 50 litres.
A self-adhesive label on the inner face of thefiller flap reminds you of the type of fuel to use
depending on your engine.
Additions of fuel must be of at least 5 litres to be registered by the fuel gauge.
Filling
To fill the tank safely: )the engine must be switched off, )open the fuel filler flap, )inser t the key in the cap, then turn it to the
left,
With Stop & Star t, never refuel with the system in STOP mode; you must switch off the ignition with the key.
)remove the cap and hook it onto the clip
located on the inside of the flap,
)fill the tank, but do not continue after the
3rd cut- off of the pump ; this could causemalfunctions.

Checks
Checking levels
Oil level
The check is carried out either when
the ignition is switched on using the
oil level indicator on the instrument panel, or
using the dipstick.
This manual check will only be correct if the
vehicle is on level ground and the engine has
been o
ff for more than 30 minutes.
Engine oil change
Refer to the servicing booklet for details of theinterval for this operation.
In order to maintain the reliability of the engine and emission control system, the use of additives in the engine oil is prohibited.
Oil specifi cation
The oil must be the correct grade for your
en
gine and conform to the manufacturer'srecommendations.
Th
e brake fluid level should be closeto the "MA X" mark. If it is not, check
the brake pad wear.
Brake fluid level
Changing the fl uid
Refer to the servicing booklet for details of the
interval for this operation.
Fluid specifi cation
The brake fluid must conform to themanufacturer's recommendations and meet theDOT4 standard.
Take care when working under the
bonnet, as certain areas of the enginemay be extremely hot (risk of burns).
If a level drops si
gnificantly, have the corresponding system checked by a PEUGEOT dealer or a qualified workshop.
Check all of these levels regularly and top them up if necessary, unless other wise indicated.
It is normal to top up the oil levelbetween two ser vices (or oil changes).PEUGEOT recommends that you check the level, and top up if necessary, every3 000 miles (5 000 kms).
After topping up the oil, the check when switching on the ignition with the oil levelindicator in the instrument panel is not validduring the 30 minutes after topping up.
