Triggering
This is indicated by sounding of the si-
r e n a n d fl a s h i n g o f t h e d i r e c t i o n i n d i c a -
tors for approximately thirty seconds.
After it has been triggered, the alarm is
again operational. If the alarm is triggered ten times
in succession, the eleventh
time will result in it becoming
inactive.
If the indicator lamp on button A
fl a s h e s r a p i d l y , t h i s i n d i c a t e s t h a t
the alarm was triggered during your
absence. When the ignition is
s w i t c h e d o n , t h i s fl a s h i n g s t o p s i m -
mediately.
To avoid triggering the alarm when
washing your vehicle, lock it using
the key in the lock on the driver's
door.
Do not activate the alarm before dis-
connecting the battery, otherwise the
siren will sound. Failure of the remote control
Unlock the vehicle using the key in
the driver's door lock.
Open the door; the alarm is trig-
gered.
Switch on the ignition; the alarm
stops.
Malfunction
When the ignition is switched on, light-
ing of the indicator lamp on button A for
ten seconds indicates a siren fault.
Have it checked by a PEUGEOT dealer.
Locking the vehicle without
activating the alarm
Lock or deadlock the vehicle using
the key in the driver's door lock. Automatic operation *
Depending on the legislation in force in
your country, one of these cases may
occur:
- 45 seconds after the vehicle is
locked using the remote control, the
alarm is activated, regardless of the
status of the doors and boot.
- 2 minutes after the last door or the boot is closed, the alarm is activated.
To avoid triggering the alarm on
e n t e r i n g t h e v e h i c l e , fi r s t p r e s s t h e
unlocking button on the remote
control.

If the vehicle is locked or
deadlocked from the outside,
t h e r e d i n d i c a t o r l i g h t fl a s h e s
and button A is inactive.
In this case, use the remote control
or the key to unlock the vehicle. A c o n fi r m a t i o n m e s s a g e a p -
pears on the multifunction
display, accompanied by an
audible signal. Manual centralised control
System which provides full manual
locking or unlocking of the doors from
the inside.
Locking
Press button A to lock the vehicle.
The red indicator light on the button
comes on.
Automatic centralised control
System which provides full automatic
locking or unlocking of the doors and
boot while driving, if they are closed
correctly.
You can activate or deactivate this func-
tion. Locking
When the speed exceeds 6 mph
(10 km/h), the doors and boot lock auto-
matically.
If one of the doors is open, the automatic
central locking does not take place.
If the boot is open, the automatic central
locking of the doors is active.
Deactivation
Press button A again for more than
two seconds.

an audible signal.
If one of the doors is open, the
central locking from the inside
does not take place.
Unlocking
Press button A again to unlock the
vehicle.
The red indicator light on the button

In the event of an impact, the
doors unlock automatically.

Above 6 mph (10 km/h), press but-
ton A to unlock the doors and boot
temporarily.
Press button A for more than two
seconds.

LOWER TAILGATE
Opening
Push the handle C to the right and
tilt the tailgate D gently.
Closing
Raise the tailgate D , push it fully to
close it, check that it is secured cor-
rectly. Before opening the boot, en-
sure that no one is within the
radius of opening.
For reasons of safety, correct opera-
tion and compliance with regulations,
do not drive with the boot and the
lower tailgate open.
If the battery is disconnected, the
boot cannot be opened.
Do not climb onto the lower tailgate
and do not subject it to heavy knocks,
it may be damaged.
Always close the lower tailgate and
check that it is secured correctly be-
fore closing the boot.
When closing the lower tailgate, en-
sure that no person or object is in the
proximity of the moving parts to avoid
any risk of injury or damage.
Do not open the lower tailgate
w h e n a t o w b a r i s fi t t e d .
Maximum authorised weight
on the lower tailgate when
open: 200 kg .

Windscreen and headlamp wash

Reverse gear
When reverse gear is engaged, the
rear wiper will come into operation if the
windscreen wipers are operating.
Programming
Pull the windscreen wiper stalk to-
wards you. The windscreen wash
then the windscreen wipers operate
f o r a fi x e d p e r i o d .
If the dipped headlamps are on , the
headlamp washers operate at the same
time.
Rear wiper
I f a s i g n i fi c a n t a c c u m u l a t i o n
of snow or ice is present, or
when using a bicycle carrier
on the boot, deactivate the automatic
rear wiper via the multifunction dis-
p l a y c o n fi g u r a t i o n m e n u .
The function is activated or de-
activated via the multifunction
d i s p l a y c o n fi g u r a t i o n m e n u .
This function is activated
by default. Screenwash/headlamp wash low

headlamp washers, when the
minimum level of the reservoir
is reached, this warning light is
displayed on the instrument panel, ac-
companied by an audible signal and a
message on the multifunction display.

headlamp wash reservoir.
The warning light is displayed when the
ignition is switched on, or every time the
stalk is operated, until the reservoir is
fi l l e d .

Different lighting times are
available:
- when the ignition is off, approxi-mately ten minutes,
- in energy economy mode, approxi- mately thirty seconds,
- when the engine is running, no limit.
This comes on automatically when the
boot is opened and switches off auto-
matically when the boot is closed.
BOOT LIGHTING TORCH
Removable light, incorporated in the
boot wall, which can be used to light the
boot or as a torch. Operation
O n c e e n g a g e d fi r m l y i n i t s l o c a t i o n , i t
comes on automatically when the boot
is opened and switches off automatic-
ally when the boot is closed.
It operates with NiMH type storage bat-
teries.
It has an operating autonomy of approxi-
mately 45 minutes and recharges while
you are driving.
Observe the polarities when
fi t t i n g t h e s t o r a g e b a t t e r i e s .
Never replace the storage batteries
with batteries.
For the torch function, refer to
the "Layout - § Torch" section.

Torch
This is a removable light, incorporated
in the boot wall, which can be used to
light the boot or as a torch.
Operation
This torch operates with NiMH type ac-
cumulators.
It has an operating autonomy of approx-
imately 45 minutes and charges while
you are driving. Use
Extract the torch from its location
pulling the side of the torch A .
Press the switch, located on the
back, to switch the torch on or off.
Unfold the support, located on the
back, to set down and raise the
t o r c h ; f o r e x a m p l e , w h e n c h a n g i n g
a wheel.
Storing
Put the torch back in place in its loca-
tion starting with the narrow part B .
If you have forgotten to switch off the torch, this switches it off auto-
matically. Rear side blinds
Fitted on the rear windows, these protect
your young children from the sun.
Pull the blind by the central tab.
Position the blind attachment on the
hook.
Observe the polarities when
fi t t i n g t h e a c c u m u l a t o r s .
Never replace the accumulators
with batteries. It the torch is not engaged cor-
rectly, it may not charge and
may not come on when the
boot is opened.

lighting" section.
