12 V ACCESSORIES SOCKETS
To connect a 12 V accessory (max
power: 120 Watts), remove the cov-
er and connect a suitable adaptor.
Exceeding the maximum power could
result in damage to your accessory.

A ventilation outlet distributes cooled air.
PORTABLE ASHTRAY
Pull the cover to open the ashtray.
To empty it, remove the ashtray by
pulling it upwards.
PEUGEOT CONNECT USB
This connection box, consisting of an
auxiliary socket and/or USB port, is
located in the front armrest (under the
cover).
It permits the connection of portable
equipment, such as a digital audio player
of the iPod ®
type or a USB memory stick.
I t r e a d s t h e a u d i o fi l e f o r m a t s ( M P 3 ,
OGG, WMA, WAV, ...) which are trans-
mitted to your audio equipment and
played via the vehicle's speakers.
Y o u c a n m a n a g e t h e s e fi l e s u s i n g t h e
steering mounted controls or the audio
equipment control panel and display
them on the multifunction screen.
When the USB port is used, the porta-
ble equipment charges automatically.

PEUGEOT recommends that
children should travel in the
rear seats of your vehicle:
- "rearwards-facing" up to the
age of 2,
-
"forwards-facing" over the age of 2.
GENERAL POINTS RELATING TO CHILD SEATS
"Forwards-facing"
When a "forwards-facing" child seat is
installed on the front passenger seat ,
adjust the vehicle's seat to the interme-
diate longitudinal position with the seat
back upright and leave the passenger
airbag activated.

"Rearwards-facing"
When a "rearwards-facing" child seat is
installed on the
front passenger seat ,
it is essential that the passenger airbag
is deactivated. Otherwise, the child
would risk being seriously injured or
k i l l e d i f t h e a i r b a g w e r e t o i n fl a t e .
Although one of PEUGEOT's main cri-
teria when designing your vehicle, the
safety of your children also depends on
you.
For maximum safety, please observe
the following recommendations:
- in accordance with European reg-
ulations, all children under the
age of 12 or less than one and a
half metres tall must travel in ap-
proved child seats suited to their
weight , o n s e a t s fi t t e d w i t h a s e a t
belt or ISOFIX mountings * ,
- statistically, the safest seats in
your vehicle for carrying children
are the rear seats,
-
a child weighing less than 9 kg must
travel in the "rearwards-facing" posi-
tion both in the front and in the rear.

In accordance with European regulations, this table indicates the options for installing child seats secured using a seat b elt
and universally approved (a) in accordance with the weight of the child and the seat in the vehicle:

ADVICE ON CHILD SEATS
The incorrect installation of a child
seat in a vehicle compromises the
child's protection in the event of an
accident.
R e m e m b e r t o f a s t e n t h e s e a t b e l t s o r
the child seat harnesses keeping the
slack relative to the child's body to a
minimum, even for short journeys.
When installing a child seat using the
seat belt, ensure that the seat belt is
tightened correctly on the child seat
a n d t h a t i t s e c u r e s t h e c h i l d s e a t fi r m -
ly on the seat of your vehicle.
For optimum installation of the "for-
wards-facing" child seat, ensure that
the back of the child seat is in contact
with the back of the vehicle's seat
and that the head restraint does not
cause any discomfort.
If the head restraint has to be re-
moved, ensure that it is stored or
attached securely to prevent it from
being thrown around the vehicle in
the event of sharp braking. Installing a booster seat
The chest part of the seat belt must
be positioned on the child's shoulder
without touching the neck.
Ensure that the lap part of the seat
belt passes correctly over the child's
thighs.
PEUGEOT recommends the use of
a b o o s t e r s e a t w h i c h h a s a b a c k , fi t -
ted with a seat belt guide at shoulder
level.
As a safety precaution, do not leave:
- a child or children alone and un-
supervised in a vehicle,
- a child or an animal in a vehicle which is exposed to the sun, with
the windows closed,
- the keys within reach of children inside the vehicle. To prevent accidental opening of
the doors and rear windows, use
t h e " C h i l d l o c k " .
Take care not to open the rear win-
dows by more than one third.
To protect young children from the

GRIP CONTROL
ESP mode
Place the dial in this position. Snow mode
Special patented traction control sys-
tem which improves traction on snow,
mud and sand.
This system is combined with all-sea-
s o n M + S ( M u d a n d S n o w : 2 1 5 / 6 0 R 1 6 )
tyres which offer an excellent compro-
mise between safety, grip and traction.
This system, the operation of which has
been optimised for each situation, al-
lows you to manoeuvre in most condi-
tions of poor grip (encountered during
touring use).
The accelerator pedal should be pressed
s u f fi c i e n t l y t o a l l o w t h e s y s t e m t o u s e
the power of the engine. The electronics
will ensure optimum management of the
various parameters. Operation at high
engine speeds is completely normal.
Each time the ignition is switched off,
the system returns to standard mode
(ESP).
Standard mode which is calibrated for
a low level of wheel spin, based on the
different levels of grip normally encoun-
tered on the road.
Mode which adapts its strategy to the
conditions of grip encountered for each
of the two front wheels on moving off.
When moving, the system optimises
wheel spin to provide the best accelera-
tion possible for the grip available.

When the ignition is switched
on, this warning lamp comes
on on the seat belt and pas-
senger's front air bag warning
lamps display, if the driver and/or the
front passenger has not fastened their
seat belt.
From approximately 12 mph (20 km/h)
t h i s w a r n i n g l a m p fl a s h e s f o r t w o m i n -
utes accompanied by an audible signal.
Once these two minutes have elapsed,
this warning lamp remains on until the
driver and/or the front passenger fas-
tens their seat belt.
Unfastening
Press the red button on the buckle.

Front seat belts
T h e f r o n t s e a t b e l t s a r e fi t t e d w i t h a p r e -
tensioning and force limiting system.
This system improves safety in the front
seats in the event of a front impact. De-
pending on the severity of the impact,
the pretensioning system instantly tight-
ens the seat belts against the body of
the occupants.
The pretensioning seat belts are active
when the ignition is on.
The force limiter reduces the pressure
of the seat belt on the chest of the occu-
pant, so improving their protection.
