When a "forwards-facing" child seat
is installed on the f r o n t p a s s e n g e r
s e a t , adjust the vehicle"s seat to the
intermediate longitudinal position
with the seat back upright and leave
the passenger air bag armed.

In accordance with the European regulation (Directive 2000/3), this table indicates the options for the installation of child seats
secured using the seat belt and universally approved (a) dependi ng on the weight of the child and the seat in the vehicle:
(a) Universal child seat: child seat which can be installed in all vehicles using the seat belt.
(b) Group 0: from birth to 10 kg.
(c) Consult the current legislation in your country before instal ling your child on this seat.

ADVICE ON CHILD
SEATS
Children under the age of 10 must not
travel in the "forward facing" position
on the front passenger seat, unless
the rear seats are already occupied
by other children, cannot be used or
are absent.
Disarm the passenger air bag when
a "rear facing" child seat is installed
on the front seat. Otherwise, the child
would risk being seriously injured or
k i l l e d i f t h e a i r b a g w e r e t o i n l a t e .
I n s t a l l i n g a b o o s t e r s e a t
The chest part of the seat belt must
be positioned on the child"s shoulder
without touching the neck.
Ensure that the lap part of the seat
belt passes correctly over the child"s
thighs.
PEUGEOT recommends the use of
a b o o s t e r s e a t w h i c h h a s a b a c k , i t -
ted with a seat belt guide at shoulder
level. As a safety precaution, do not leave:
- one or more children alone and
unsupervised in a vehicle,
- a child or an animal in a vehicle which is exposed to the sun, with
the windows closed,
- the keys within reach of children inside the vehicle.
To prevent accidental opening of the
doors, use the "Child lock".
Take care not to open the rear win-
dows by more than one third.
To protect young children from the
r a y s o f t h e s u n , i t s i d e b l i n d s o n t h e
rear windows.
The incorrect installation of a child
seat in a vehicle compromises the
child"s protection in the event of an
accident.
Remember to fasten the seat belts
or the child seat harnesses
k e e p i n g
t h e s l a c k in relation to the child"s
body to a minimum, even for short
journeys.
For optimum installation of the "for-
ward facing" child seat, ensure that
the back of the child seat is in contact
with the back of the vehicle"s seat
and that the head restraint does not
cause any discomfort.
If the head restraint has to be removed,
ensure that it is stored or attached se-
curely to prevent it from being thrown
around the vehicle in the event of
sharp braking.

the seat back and the seat cushion.

body as possible,
- must restrain one adult only,
- must not bear any trace of cuts or fraying,
- must be pulled in front of you with a s m o o t h m o v e m e n t , c h e c k i n g
that it does not twist,
- m u s t n o t b e t r a n s f o r m e d o r m o d i i e d t o a v o i d a l t e r i n g i t s p e r f o r m a n c e .
In accordance with current safety
regulations, all repairs and checks
must be carried out by a PEUGEOT
dealer who guarantees that the work
i s c a r r i e d o u t c o r r e c t l y .
H a v e y o u r s e a t b e l t s c h e c k e d r e g u -
larly by a PEUGEOT dealer and par-
ticularly if the straps show signs of
d a m a g e .
Clean the seat belt straps with soapy
w a t e r o r a t e x t i l e c l e a n i n g p r o d u c t ,
s o l d b y P E U G E O T d e a l e r s .
A f t e r f o l d i n g o r m o v i n g a s e a t o r r e a r
bench seat, ensure that the seat belt
i s p o s i t i o n e d a n d r o l l e d u p c o r r e c t l y . Recommendations for children:
- use a suitable child seat if the pas-
s e n g e r i s l e s s t h a n 1 2 y e a r s o l d o r
s h o r t e r t h a n o n e m e t r e i f t y ,
- do not use the strap-guide * when a c h i l d s e a t i s i n s t a l l e d .
- n e v e r u s e t h e s a m e s e a t b e l t t o secure more than one person,
- n e v e r a l l o w a c h i l d t o t r a v e l o n y o u r l a p .
Depending on the nature and se-
riousness of the impacts , the pre-
t e n s i o n i n g d e v i c e m a y b e t r i g g e r e d
before and independently of the air
b a g s . T r i g g e r i n g o f t h e p r e - t e n s i o n e r s
is accompanied by a slight emission
of harmless smoke and a noise, due
t o t h e a c t i v a t i o n o f t h e p y r o t e c h n i c
c a r t r i d g e i n c o r p o r a t e d i n t h e s y s t e m .
In all cases, the air bag warning light
c o m e s o n .
F o l l o w i n g a n i m p a c t , h a v e t h e s e a t
belts system checked, and if neces-
s a r y r e p l a c e d , b y a P E U G E O T d e a l e r .
D o n o t i n v e r t t h e s e a t b e l t b u c k l e s a s
t h e y w i l l n o t f u l i l t h e i r r o l e f u l l y .
I f t h e s e a t s h a v e a r m r e s t s * , t h e l a p
part of the seat belt must always
p a s s u n d e r t h e a r m r e s t .
T h e s e a t b e l t s a r e i t t e d w i t h a n i n e r t i a
reel permitting automatic adjustment
o f t h e l e n g t h o f t h e s t r a p t o y o u r s i z e .
The seat belt is stored automatically
w h e n n o t i n u s e .
Before and after use, ensure that the
s e a t b e l t i s r o l l e d u p c o r r e c t l y .
The lower part of the strap must be
positioned as low as possible on the
p e l v i s .
The upper part must be positioned in
t h e h o l l o w o f t h e s h o u l d e r .

Front air bags
System which protects the head and
c h e s t o f t h e d r i v e r a n d f r o n t p a s s e n -
g e r i n t h e e v e n t o f a f r o n t i m p a c t .
T h e d r i v e r ’ s a i r b a g i s i n c o r p o r a t e d
i n t h e c e n t r e o f t h e s t e e r i n g w h e e l ;
the front passenger’s air bag is incor-
p o r a t e d i n t h e f a s c i a a b o v e t h e g l o v e
b o x .
Activation
The air bags are triggered simultane-
ously, unless the passenger’s front air
b a g i s d i s a r m e d , i n t h e e v e n t o f a s e r i -
ous front impact applied to all or part
of the front impact zone A , in the lon-
g i t u d i n a l c e n t r e l i n e o f t h e v e h i c l e o n a
horizontal plane and directed from the
f r o n t t o t h e r e a r o f t h e v e h i c l e .
T h e f r o n t a i r b a g i n l a t e s b e t w e e n t h e
f r o n t o c c u p a n t o f t h e v e h i c l e a n d t h e
f a s c i a t o c u s h i o n h i s f o r w a r d m o v e -
m e n t . Deactivation
If both air bag warning lights
come on continuously, do not
install a "rear facing" child seat
o n t h e f r o n t p a s s e n g e r s e a t .

warning and a message on
the multifunction display,

Operating fault
Only the front passenger’s air bag
c a n b e d i s a r m e d :
with the ignition off , insert the
key in the passenger air bag dis-
arming switch 1 ,
turn it to the "OFF" position,
t h e n , r e m o v e t h e k e y k e e p i n g t h e
s w i t c h i n t h i s p o s i t i o n .
This warning light comes
on on the instrument panel
when the ignition is on and
u n t i l t h e a i r b a g i s r e - a r m e d . Reactivation
W h e n y o u r e m o v e t h e c h i l d s e a t , t u r n
switch
1 to the "ON" position to re-
arm the air bag and so guarantee the
safety of your front passenger in the
e v e n t o f a n i m p a c t .
To guarantee the safety of
y o u r c h i l d , i t i s i m p e r a t i v e
that the passenger air bag
is disarmed when you install
a "rear facing" child seat on
t h e f r o n t p a s s e n g e r s e a t .
Otherwise, the child would risk be-
ing seriously injured or killed if the air
b a g w e r e t r i g g e r e d .
