A permanently lit warning light or
o n e t h a t l a s h e s w i t h t h e e n g i n e
running, indicates an operating
fault in the relevant unit. Some
warning lights may be linked to
buzzers and a message on the
multifunction display. Do not
ignore this warning: contact a
PEUGEOT dealer as soon as
possible.
If the Central STOP warning light
comes on when you are driving,
stop immediately where it is safe
to do so.

driver has not fastened his seat belt.
With the engine running and the
d o o r s c l o s e d , t h e l i g h t g o e s o u t
automatically after 30 seconds.
I f t h e s e a t b e l t i s u n f a s t e n e d :
- b e l o w 1 2 m p h ( 2 0 k m / h ) , t h e l i g h t c o m e s o n c o n s t a n t l y , - a b o v e 1 2 m p h ( 2 0 k m / h ) a n d f o r
t w o m i n u t e s , t h e l i g h t l a s h e s
a c c o m p a n i e d b y a n a u d i b l e
signal of increasing volume.
O n c e t h e s e t w o m i n u t e s h a v e
e l a p s e d , t h e l i g h t r e m a i n s o n u n t i l
the driver fastens his seat belt.
Air bags and rear,

roll-over hoops warning light

i s r u n n i n g , a c c o m p a n i e d b y a n a u d i b l e
signal and a message on the multifunction
d i s p l a y , t h i s i n d i c a t e s a m a l f u n c t i o n o f
the emission control system.

Anti-lock braking system

malfunction of the ABS.

tional servo-assisted braking.

T h e A B S , i n c o n j u n c t i o n w i t h t h e
e l e c t r o n i c b r a k e f o r c e d i s t r i b u t i o n ,
increases the stability and manoeu-
v r a b i l i t y o f y o u r v e h i c l e o n b r a k i n g ,
i n p a r t i c u l a r o n p o o r o r s l i p p e r y r o a d
surfaces.
Note: w h e n c h a n g i n g w h e e l s ( t y r e s
a n d r i m s ) , m a k e s u r e t h a t t h e s e a r e
a p p r o v e d .
The anti-lock braking system comes
i n t o o p e r a t i o n a u t o m a t i c a l l y w h e n

d u c i n g t h e s t o p p i n g d i s t a n c e .

t h e b r a k e p e d a l i s a c t i v a t e d . T h e e f -
fect of this is a reduction in the resis-
t a n c e o f t h e p e d a l a n d a n i n c r e a s e i n
b r a k i n g e f i c i e n c y .

indicates that there is a malfunction
of the electronic brake force distribu-
t i o n , w h i c h c a n c a u s e a l o s s o f c o n -
t r o l o f t h e v e h i c l e w h e n b r a k i n g .
N o r m a l o p e r a t i o n o f t h e A B S m a y
make itself felt by slight vibrations
o f t h e b r a k e p e d a l .
In emergency braking, press
