REAR SCREEN DEMIST/DEFROST
Switch off the demist/
defrost of the rear screen
and door mirrors as soon
as it is no longer necessary
as lower current consump-
tion results in reduced fuel
consumption.
S w i t c h i n g o n
The rear screen demist/defrost can only
operate when the engine is running.
Press this button to demist/defrost
the rear screen and the door mir-
rors. The indicator lamp associated
with the button comes on.
S w i t c h i n g o f f
The demist/defrost switches off auto-
matically to prevent an excessive con-
sumption of current.
It is possible to stop the demist/
defrost operation before it is switched
off automatically by pressing the but-
ton again. The indicator lamp associ-
ated with the button switches off.
5 . A i r c o n d i t i o n i n g O n / O f f
The air conditioning is de-
signed to operate effectively in
all seasons, with the windows
closed.
It enables you to:
- lower the temperature, in summer,
- increase the effectiveness of the demisting in winter, above 0 °C.

ated indicator lamp comes on.

By means of the air quality
sensor, the system also opti-
mises the air quality. On entering the vehicle, if the
interior temperature is much
colder or warmer than the
comfort value, there is no need to
change the value displayed in order
to obtain the comfort required more
quickly. The system corrects the dif-
ference in temperature automatically
and as quickly as possible.
The air conditioning only operates when
the engine is running. The driver and front passenger
can each adjust the tempera-
ture to their requirements.
Turn control 2 or 3 to the left or to
the right respectively to decrease or
increase this value.
A setting around the value 21 provides
optimum comfort. However, depend-
ing on your requirements, a setting be-
tween 18 and 24 is normal.
You are advised to avoid a left/right set-

In this case, select the automatic
visibility programme.
The system automatically controls the
a i r c o n d i t i o n i n g , t h e a i r fl o w a n d t h e a i r
intake and provides optimum distribu-
tion of the ventilation to the windscreen
and side windows.

Press the "AUTO" button.

We recommend the use of this mode:
it permits automatic and optimised ad-
justment of all of the functions, passen-
g e r c o m p a r t m e n t t e m p e r a t u r e , a i r fl o w ,
air distribution and air recirculation, in
accordance with the comfort value that
you have chosen.
This system is designed to operate ef-
fectively in all seasons, with the win-
dows closed. The value indicated on the display cor-
responds to a level of comfort and not
to a temperature in degrees Celsius or
Fahrenheit.
To switch it off, press the " v i s i b i l i t y "
button again or press the "AUTO"
button, the indicator lamp on the but-
ton switches off or the indicator lamp
on the "AUTO" button comes on.

In cold weather, it favours the distri-
bution of warm air to the windscreen,

Heated seats control
With the engine running, the front seats
can be heated separately.
Use the adjustment dial, placed on
the side of each front seat, to switch
on and select the level of heating
required:
0
: Off.
1
: Low.
2
: Medium.
3
: High.

To raise the head restraint, pull it for-
wards and upwards at the same time.
To remove the head restraint, press
the lug A and pull the head restraint
upwards.
To put the head restraint back in
place, engage the head restraint
stems in the openings keeping them
in line with the seat back.
To lower the head restraint, press
the lug A and the head restraint at
the same time.
To adjust the angle of the head re-
straint, tilt its lower part forwards or
rearwards. T h e h e a d r e s t r a i n t i s fi t t e d w i t h
a frame with notches which
prevents it from lowering; this
is a safety device in case of
impact.

Never drive with the head restraints
removed; they must be in place and
adjusted correctly.

The objects observed are, in
reality, closer than they ap-
pear.
Take this into account in order to cor-
rectly judge the distance of vehicles
approaching from behind.
MIRRORS

glass permitting the lateral rearward vi-
sion necessary for overtaking or parking.
They can also be folded for parking in
c o n fi n e d s p a c e s . F o l d i n g
- Automatic: lock the vehicle using
the remote control or the key.
- Manual: with the ignition on, pull control A rearwards.
The folding and unfolding of
the door mirrors using the re-
mote control can be deactivat-
ed by a PEUGEOT dealer.
Fold the mirrors when putting your
vehicle through an automatic car
wash.

- Automatic: unlock the vehicle using the remote control or the key.
- Manual: with the ignition on, pull control A rearwards.
If the mirrors are folded using
control
A , they will not unfold
when the vehicle is unlocked.
Pull again on control A .
Move control A to the right or to
the left to select the corresponding
mirror.
Move control B in all four directions
to adjust.
Return control A to the central
position.

Electronic engine immobiliser
The key contains an electronic chip
which has a special code. When the
ignition is switched on, this code must
b e r e c o g n i s e d i n o r d e r f o r s t a r t i n g t o b e
p o s s i b l e .
T h i s e l e c t r o n i c e n g i n e i m m o b i l i s e r l o c k s
the engine management system a few
minutes after the ignition is switched off
a n d p r e v e n t s s t a r t i n g o f t h e e n g i n e b y
anyone who does not have the key.
Anti-theft protection
In the event of a malfunction,
y o u a r e i n f o r m e d b y l i g h t i n g o f
t h i s w a r n i n g l a m p , a n a u d i b l e
signal and a message on the
multifunction screen.
In this case, your vehicle does not start;

DOORS
After unlocking the vehicle com-
pletely using the remote control or
the key, pull the door handle. From inside
Pull the door control (front or rear)
to open the door; this unlocks this
vehicle completely.
The interior door controls do
not operate when the vehicle
is deadlocked.
Closing
When a door is not closed correctly: - when the engine is running ,
this warning lamp comes on,
a c c o m p a n i e d b y a m e s s a g e
on the multifunction screen for
a few seconds,
- when the vehicle is moving (speed
higher than 6 mph (10 km/h)), this
warning lamp comes on, accompa-
n i e d b y a n a u d i b l e s i g n a l a n d a m e s -
sage on the multifunction screen for

O p e n i n g t h e c a p m a y t r i g g e r a n i n -
rush of air. This vacuum, which is
c o m p l e t e l y n o r m a l , i s c a u s e d b y t h e
sealing of the fuel system.
FUEL TANK
Capacity of the tank: approximately
60 litres. T o fi l l t h e t a n k s a f e l y :
it is essential that the engine is
switched off,
o p e n t h e f u e l fi l l e r fl a p ,
insert the key in the cap, then turn it
to the left,
When refueling is complete:
p u t t h e c a p b a c k i n p l a c e ,
turn the key to the right, then remove
it from the cap,
c l o s e t h e fi l l e r fl a p .
remove the cap and secure it on the
hook, located on the inside of the
fl a p ,
fi l l t h e t a n k , b u t do not continue af-
ter the 3rd cut-off of the nozzle ;
this could cause malfunctions.
Low fuel level
Operating fault
A malfunction of the fuel gauge is indi-
c a t e d b y t h e r e t u r n t o z e r o o f t h e f u e l
level indicator needle.

Refueling
A l a b e l a f fi x e d t o t h e i n s i d e o f t h e fi l l e r
fl a p r e m i n d s y o u o f t h e t y p e o f f u e l t o b e
used according to your engine.
M o r e t h a n 5 l i t r e s o f f u e l m u s t b e a d d -
e d i n o r d e r t o b e r e g i s t e r e d b y t h e f u e l
gauge. When the fuel tank minimum
level is reached, this warning
lamp comes on on the instru-
m e n t p a n e l , a c c o m p a n i e d b y a n
a u d i b l e s i g n a l a n d a m e s s a g e
on the multifunction screen.
W h e n t h e l a m p fi r s t c o m e s o n , y o u h a v e
approximately 6 litres of fuel remaining.
You must refuel to avoid run-
ning out of fuel.
If you run out of fuel (Diesel), re-
fer also to the "Checks" section.

Quality of the fuel used for petrol engines
The petrol engines are perfectly com-
p a t i b l e w i t h E 1 0 t y p e p e t r o l b i o f u e l s
(containing 10 % ethanol), conforming
to European standards EN 228 and
EN 15376.
E85 type fuels (containing up to 85 %
ethanol) are reserved exclusively for ve-
hicles marketed for the use of this type
of fuel (BioFlex vehicles). The quality of
the ethanol must comply with European
standard EN 15293.
F o r B r a z i l o n l y , s p e c i a l v e h i c l e s a r e
marketed to run on fuels containing up
to 100 % ethanol (E100 type).
Quality of the fuel used for Diesel engines
The Diesel engines are perfectly com-
p a t i b l e w i t h b i o f u e l s w h i c h c o n f o r m t o
current and future European standards
(Diesel fuel which complies with stand-
a r d E N 5 9 0 m i x e d w i t h a b i o f u e l w h i c h
complies with standard EN 14214)
a v a i l a b l e a t t h e p u m p s ( c o n t a i n i n g u p
to 7 % Fatty Acid Methyl Ester).
T h e B 3 0 b i o f u e l c a n b e u s e d i n c e r -
tain Diesel engines; however, this use
i s s u b j e c t t o s t r i c t a p p l i c a t i o n o f t h e
special servicing conditions. Consult a
P E U G E O T d e a l e r .
T h e u s e o f a n y o t h e r t y p e o f ( b i o ) f u e l
( v e g e t a b l e o r a n i m a l o i l s , p u r e o r d i l u t -
e d , d o m e s t i c f u e l . . . ) i s s t r i c t l y p r o h i b i t e d
(risk of damage to the engine and fuel
system).

Front and rear courtesy lamps
In this position, the courtesy
lamp comes on gradually:
Map reading lamps
With the ignition on, press the cor-
responding switch.
With the "permanent lighting"
mode, the duration of lighting
varies depending on the context:
- with the ignition off, approximate- ly ten minutes,
- in energy economy mode, ap- proximately thirty seconds,
- with the engine running, unlimited.
- when the vehicle is unlocked,
- when the key is removed from the
ignition,
- when a door is opened,
- when the remote control locking but- ton is activated, in order to locate
your vehicle.
Permanently off.
Permanent lighting. When the front courtesy lamp
is in the "permanent lighting"
position, the rear courtesy
lamp will also come on, unless it is in
the "permanently off" position.
To switch off the rear courtesy lamp,
place it in the "permanently off" posi-
tion.
Rear side reading lamps
W i t h t h e i g n i t i o n o n , t h e fi r s t p r e s s
of the reading lamp switch switches
on the reading lamp in "permanent
lighting" mode.
Following a second press, it comes
on:
- when the vehicle is unlocked,
- when the key is removed from the ignition,
- when a door is opened,
- when the remote control locking button is pressed, in order to
locate your vehicle.
It switches off gradually:
- when the vehicle is locked,
- when the ignition is switched on,
- 30 seconds after the last door is closed.
It switches off gradually:
- when the vehicle is locked,
- when the ignition is switched on,
- 30 seconds after the last door is
closed.
Take care not to place anything in contact
with the courtesy lamps.
