Parking the vehicle

Apply the parking brake unless it
has been programmed to automatic
m o d e , s w i t c h o f f t h e i g n i t i o n a n d e n -
g a g e fi r s t g e a r * t o l o c k t h e w h e e l s .
Check that the braking warning lamp
and the P w a r n i n g l a m p o n t h e p a r k -
i n g b r a k e c o n t r o l c o m e o n .
I f n e c e s s a r y , p l a c e a c h o c k u n d e r t h e
wheel diagonally opposite the wheel
t o b e c h a n g e d .

Never go underneath a vehicle raised
u s i n g a j a c k ; u s e a n a x l e s t a n d .
Removing a wheel
List of operations
Remove the chromed bolt cover
from each of the bolts using the
tool 3 ( a c c o r d i n g t o e q u i p m e n t ) .
F i t t h e s e c u r i t y s o c k e t 5 on the
wheelbrace 1 to slacken the security
b o l t .
Slacken the other bolts using the
wheelbrace 1 o n l y .
Place the jack 2 in contact with one
of the two front A or rear B locations
p r o v i d e d o n t h e u n d e r b o d y , w h i c h -
ever is closest to the wheel to be
c h a n g e d .
E x t e n d t h e j a c k 2 until its base plate
i s i n c o n t a c t w i t h t h e g r o u n d . E n s u r e
that the centreline of the jack base
plate is directly below the location A
or B u s e d .
R a i s e t h e v e h i c l e u n t i l t h e r e i s s u f -
fi c i e n t s p a c e b e t w e e n t h e w h e e l a n d
the ground to admit the spare (not
p u n c t u r e d ) w h e e l e a s i l y .
Remove the bolts and store them in
a c l e a n p l a c e .
R e m o v e t h e w h e e l .
