Starting the vehicle
Insert the key in the ignition switch.
The system recognises the starting code.
Turn the key fully towards the fascia
to position 3 (Starting) .
When the engine starts, release the
key.
Switching the vehicle off
Immobilise the vehicle.
Turn the key fully towards you to po-
sition 1 (Stop) .
Remove the key from the ignition
switch. Remote control problem
Following disconnection of the vehicle
battery, replacement of the remote control
battery or in the event of a remote control
malfunction, you can no longer unlock,
lock or locate your vehicle.
First of all, use the key in the lock to
unlock or lock your vehicle.
Then, reinitialise the remote control.
If the problem persists, contact a
PEUGEOT dealer as soon as possible. Changing the battery
Battery ref.: CR 1620/3 volts.
Reinitialisation
Switch off the ignition.
Turn the key to position 2 (Ignition) .
Press the closed padlock immediately
for a few seconds.
Switch off the ignition and remove
the key from the ignition switch.
The remote control is fully operational
again.
Unclip the casing using a coin at the
notch.
S l i d e t h e fl a t b a t t e r y o u t o f i t s l o c a t i o n .
Slide the new battery into its location
observing the original direction.
Clip the casing.
Reinitialise the remote control.
This replacement battery is available
from PEUGEOT dealers.
I f t h e b a t t e r y i s fl a t , y o u a r e
informed by lighting of this warning
light, an audible signal and a
message on the multifunction
display.
Key left in the "Ignition"
position
If the key has been left in the
ignition switch, the ignition will be
switched off automatically after
one hour.
To switch the ignition back on, turn
the key to position
1 (Stop) , then
back to position 2 (Ignition) .

ALARM
System which protects and dissuades
against the theft of your vehicle. It pro-
vides two types of protection, exterior
and interior, as well as an anti-tamper
function. Locking the vehicle with full
alarm
D o n o t m a k e a n y m o d i fi c a t i o n s t o
the alarm system, this could cause
malfunctions. In order to be taken into account,
this deactivation must be carried
out each time the ignition is
switched off.
I n t h e " c a b r i o l e t " c o n fi g u r a t i o n , t h e
interior protection is deactivated
automatically.
Reactivation of the interior
protection
Unlock the vehicle using the unlocking
button on the remote control.
Relock the vehicle using the remote
control.
The alarm is activated again with both
types of protection; the indicator light on
button A switches off.
Locking the vehicle with
exterior protection alarm only
Activation
Switch off the ignition and get out of
the vehicle.
Lock or deadlock the vehicle using
the locking button on the remote
control.
The alarm is activated; the indicator light
on button A fl a s h e s o n c e p e r s e c o n d .
Exterior protection
The system detects opening of the
vehicle.
The alarm is triggered if anyone tries to
enter the vehicle by forcing a door, the
boot or the bonnet.
Interior protection
The system detects any variation in the
volume in the passenger compartment.
The alarm is triggered if anyone breaks
a window or moves inside the vehicle.
If you wish to leave a pet in the vehicle
or a window partially open, deactivate
the interior protection.
Anti-tamper function
The system detects the putting out of
service of its components.
The alarm is triggered if anyone tries
to put the wires of the siren, the central
control or the battery out of service.
Deactivation
Unlock the vehicle using the unlock-
ing button on the remote control.
The alarm is deactivated; the indicator
light on button A switches off. Deactivation of the interior
protection
Switch off the ignition.
Within ten seconds, press button A
until the indicator light is lit conti-
nuously.
Get out of the vehicle.
Lock or deadlock the vehicle using
the locking button on the remote
control.
The exterior protection alarm alone
remains activated; the indicator light on
button A fl a s h e s o n c e p e r s e c o n d .

Triggering of the alarm
This is indicated by sounding of the
s i r e n a n d fl a s h i n g o f t h e d i r e c t i o n i n d i -
cators for approximately thirty seconds.
After it has been triggered, the alarm is
again operational. If the alarm is triggered ten times in
succession, the eleventh time will
result in it becoming inactive.
If the indicator light on button A
fl a s h e s r a p i d l y , t h i s i n d i c a t e s t h a t
the alarm was triggered during
your absence. When the ignition
i s s w i t c h e d o n , t h i s fl a s h i n g s t o p s
immediately.
To avoid triggering the alarm when
washing your vehicle, lock it using
the key.
Do not activate the alarm before
disconnecting the battery, other-
wise the siren will sound. Failure of the remote control
Unlock the vehicle using the key in
the driver's door lock.
Open the door; the alarm is triggered.
Switch on the ignition; the alarm
stops.

Malfunction
When the ignition is switched on, lighting
of the indicator light on button
A for ten
seconds indicates a siren fault.
Have it checked by a PEUGEOT dealer.
Locking the vehicle without
alarm
Lock or deadlock the vehicle using
the key in the driver's door lock. Automatic operation *
Depending on the legislation in force in
your country, one of these cases may
occur:
- 45 seconds after the vehicle is
locked using the remote control, the
alarm is activated, regardless of the
status of the doors and boot.
- 2 minutes after the last door or the boot is closed, the alarm is
activated.
To avoid triggering the alarm on
e n t e r i n g t h e v e h i c l e , fi r s t p r e s s t h e
unlocking button on the remote
control.

DOORS
After unlocking the vehicle com-
pletely using the remote control or
the key, take hold of the door handle
then pull it.
The window lowers automatically by a few millimetres to permit opening
of the door. From inside
Pull the door control to open the
door; this unlocks this vehicle com-
pletely.

The interior door controls do not
operate when the vehicle is dead-
locked. Closing
The window rises automatically after
a few seconds and adjusts to provide
perfect sealing when closed.

when the engine is running, this warning light comes on,
accompanied by a message
on the multi-function display
for a few seconds,
- when the vehicle is moving (speed
higher than 6 mph (10 km/h)),
this warning light comes on, accom-
panied by an audible signal and a
message on the multifunction display
for a few seconds.
If you leave the door open for more than
one minute, the window rises again.
Pull the handle again to reactivate
the system.
Opening
From outside
When the selective unlocking is acti- v a t e d , t h e fi r s t p r e s s o f t h e r e m o t e
control unlocking button permits
unlocking of the driver's door only.
With the selective unlocking activated:
- the driver's door control unlocks
the driver's door only.
- the passenger's door control unlocks the passenger's door
and the boot. When washing your vehicle:
- fi r s t l o c k t h e v e h i c l e u s i n g t h e
remote control or the key,
- avoid spraying the upper part of the windows,
- keep the end of the high pres- sure nozzle at least 1 metre from
the windows and door seals.
When a door is not closed correctly:

If the vehicle is locked or dead-
locked from the outside, the red
i n d i c a t o r l i g h t fl a s h e s a n d b u t t o n A
is inactive.
In this case, use the remote
control or the key to unlock the
vehicle.
If one of the doors is open, the
automatic central locking does not
take place.
If the boot is open, the automatic
central locking of the doors is active.
Manual centralised control
System which provides full manual lock-
ing or unlocking of the doors and boot
from the inside.
Locking
Press button A to lock the vehicle.
The red indicator light on the button
comes on. Central automatic control
System which provides full automatic
locking or unlocking of the doors and
boot while driving.
You can activate or deactivate this function.
Unlocking
Above 6 mph (10 km/h), press button A
to unlock the doors and boot temporarily.
If one of the doors or the boot is
open, the central locking from the
inside does not take place. Unlocking
Press button A again to unlock the
vehicle.
The red indicator light on the button
switches off.
Locking
When the speed exceeds 6 mph
(10 km/h), the doors and boot lock auto-
matically.
The glove box and the front arm-
rest compartment are not locked so
that they remain accessible.

Unlocking the driver's door
Insert the key in the lock, then turn it
to the left.
Locking the passenger door
Unlocking the passenger door
Pull the interior door opening control.

Unlocking and partially opening
the boot
BOOT Boot anti-theft protection
The boot is designed to remain impregna-
b l e , e v e n i n t h e " c a b r i o l e t " c o n fi g u r a t i o n , i f
the vehicle is locked.
So, when the vehicle is locked and
the roof is open, the boot cannot be
unlocked:
- by means of the interior door opening control,
- by pressing the manual centralised control A , when the key is not in the
ignition switch.
Opening
After unlocking the boot or the vehi-
cle using the remote control or the
key, press the opening control while
raising the tailgate.
When the selective unlocking is acti-
vated, the boot can be opened at the
second press of the unlocking button
on the remote control.
Press this button for more
than two seconds to un-
lock the boot. The boot
opens slightly.
This action also unlocks the doors.
If a battery failure occurs, the boot
is locked. Consult a PEUGEOT
dealer. Closing
Lower the tailgate using the interior
grab handle.
If the tailgate is not closed correctly: -
when the engine is running ,
this warning light comes on,
accompanied by a message
on the multifunction display
for a few seconds,
- when the vehicle is moving (speed
above 6 mph (10 km/h)), this warn-
ing light comes on, accompanied
by an audible signal and a message
on the multifunction display for a
few seconds.

The key cannot be removed from
the lock until the cap is put back on
the tank.
FUEL TANK
Capacity of the tank: approximately
60 litres.
T o fi l l t h e t a n k s a f e l y :
it is essential that the engine is
switched off,
o p e n t h e f u e l fi l l e r fl a p ,
insert the key in the cap, then turn it
to the left,
W h e n fi l l i n g i s c o m p l e t e :
put the cap back in place,
turn the key to the right, then remove
it from the cap,
c l o s e t h e fl a p .
remove the cap and secure it on the
hook, located on the inside of the
fl a p ,
fi l l t h e t a n k , b u t do not continue
after the 3rd cut-off of the nozzle ;
this could cause malfunctions.
Low fuel level
Filling
A l a b e l a f fi x e d t o t h e i n s i d e o f t h e fl a p
reminds you of the type of fuel to be
used according to your engine.
Operating fault
A fuel gauge malfunction is indicated by
the return of the fuel level indicator nee-
dle to zero.
Consult a PEUGEOT dealer. When the fuel tank minimum
level is reached, this warning
light comes on on the instru-
ment panel, accompanied by
an audible signal and a message on the
multifunction display.
You have enough fuel left to drive
approximately 30 miles (50 km).
If you run out of fuel, refer to the
"Checks - § Running out of fuel" section
also.

Exterior welcome lighting
The remote switching on of the lights
and lateral spotlights makes your ap-
proach to the vehicle easier in poor light
when in automatic switching on of the
lights mode.
Switching on
Press the open padlock on the re-
mote control.
The dipped headlamps and the side lights come on, as well as the lat-
eral spotlights, located in the exte-
rior mirrors; your vehicle is also un-
locked.
Switching off
The exterior welcome lighting switches
off automatically after a set time, when
the ignition is switched on or on locking
the vehicle.
Programming The duration of maintaining
of the lighting is selected
via the multifunction dis-
p l a y c o n fi g u r a t i o n m e n u .
The duration of the welcome light-
ing is associated with and identical
to that of the automatic follow-me-
home lighting. MANUAL ADJUSTMENT OFTHE HEADLAMPS
Initial setting is position "0".
To avoid dazzling other road users, the
height of the halogen bulb headlamps
must be adjusted according to the load
in the vehicle.
