FAMILIARISATION Welcome lighting
This additional exterior and interior ligh-
ting, controlled remotely, makes your
approach to the vehicle easier when the
light is poor.
80, 85
Directional lighting
This lighting automatically provides addi-
tional visibility when cornering.

This equipment changes from the
" c o u p é " c o n fi g u r a t i o n t o t h e " c a b r i o l e t "
c o n fi g u r a t i o n a n d v i c e v e r s a w i t h a s i n g l e
action.

I n t h e " c a b r i o l e t " c o n fi g u r a t i o n , t h i s
comfort equipment reduces air swirl at
the front seats.

FAMILIARISATION
OPEN
Retractable roof The operation of the roof is the
exclusive responsibility of the
driver.
To avoid any risk of injury when
operating the roof, ensure that no
one is standing near the moving
parts.
You are strongly advised not to
operate the roof in strong winds. When washing your vehicle:
- lock the vehicle using the
remote control or the key,
- avoid spraying the upper part of the windows,
- keep the end of the high pre ssure nozzle at least 1 metre from the
windows and door seals.
When the vehicle has been
washed or after rain, wait until the
roof has dried before opening it. It is preferable to operate the roof
with the engine running and the
vehicle stationary.
The roof can be operated at a
speed below 6 mph (10 km/h).
After the roof has been operated
fully four times in succession, the
system switches to prote ction
mode temporarily to avoid dama ge
to the roof motors. Let the system
rest for approximately ten minutes;
if you are unable to ope rate the roof
after this time, contact a PEUGEOT
dealer.
Preliminary conditions
Switch on the ignition.
Make absolutely sure that:
- the vehicle is not in energy economy mode (refer to the corresponding
section),
- t h e b a t t e r y v o l t a g e i s s u f fi c i e n t (switching on of the roof control indi-
cator light),
- the roof fuse is in good condition (re- fer to the corresponding section),
- the electric windows are initialised (see corresponding section),
- the exterior temperature is higher than -15 °C.
Precautions to be taken before
operating the roof
Park the vehicle on level ground.
Check that no objects could hinder
the operation of the roof:
- nothing should be placed on the moving rear shelf 1 , on the boot
screen 2 or on the side trims 3 ,
- if luggage is transported in the boot, it must not lift the boot
screen,
- any objects, such as a jacket or umbrella, placed in the boot, must
be secured using the luggage
retaining net 4 .
Check that the boot screen 2 is

Close the boot correctly.

Opening the roof
Pull this control until the
roof opening operation is
complete.
Closing the roof
Press this control until the
roof closing operation is
complete.
C h a n g e t o " c a b r i o l e t " c o n fi g u r a t i o n :
- the four windows lower partially,
- the boot opens,
- the roof folds into the boot,
- the boot closes.
C h a n g e t o " c o u p é " c o n fi g u r a t i o n :
- the four windows lower partially,
- the boot opens,
- the roof unfolds and locks automati- cally,
- the boot closes.
To ensure that the roof operates cor-
rectly, do not release the control while
the roof is moving.
However, in the event of any danger,
release the control, the roof stops; then,
once the danger had been eliminated,
complete the movement required.
Operating fault
If a malfunction of the roof occurs,
apply the handbrake, switch off
the ignition, start the engine again,
then start the operation required
again.
If the problem persists, contact a
PEUGEOT dealer. The electric window controls and
the control for all four windows
are deactivated while the roof is in
operation.

De-icing - Demisting
To quickly de-ice or demist the wind-
screen and side windows:
place the air intake control 4 in the
" E x t e r i o r a i r i n t a k e " p o s i t i o n ,
place the air distribution dial 3 in the
" W i n d s c r e e n p o s i t i o n " ,
place the temperature 1 a n d a i r fl o w
2 dials at maximum,
close the central vents, The control button is located on
the heating or air conditioning
system control panel. REAR SCREEN DE-ICING
Switch off the de-icing of the
rear screen and exterior mir-
rors as soon as you consider
this necessary as lower current
consumption results in reduced
fuel consumption.
If the engine is switched off before
the de-icing is switched off auto-
matically, de-icing will resume next
time the engine is switched on.
The de-icing is deactivated when
the retractable roof is stored in the
boot.

The rear screen de-icing can only
operate when the engine is running.
S w i t c h i n g o f f
The de-icing switches off automatically
to prevent an excessive consumption of
current.
5. Air conditioning On/Off
The air conditioning is desi-
gned to operate effectively in
all seasons, with the windows
closed.
It enables you to:
- lower the temperature, in summer,
- increase the effectiveness of the demisting in winter, above 0 °C.

Press the "A/C" button, the asso-
ciated indicator light comes on.
T h e a i r c o n d i t i o n i n g d o e s n o t o p e r a t e

is in position "0".

Press the "A/C" button again, the
associated indicator light switches off.

Engage the shafts of the windstop
frame in the openings in the rear
side trim so that the red indicators
are concealed.
W h e n i n s t a l l i n g t h e w i n d s t o p f o r t h e fi r s t
time:
position a size 10 open-ended spanner
on the hexagonal part of the shaft,
tighten or slacken without forcing on
each side to adjust the depth setting.
Lastly, always check that the wind-
stop is retained securely before use
i n t h e " c a b r i o l e t " c o n fi g u r a t i o n .
Removal
Press and pull on the shaft supports
to release the shafts from the ope-
nings in the rear side trim; the red
indicators then become visible. It is not necessary to remove the
windstop when operating the roof.

ACCESS
Unlocking and partially opening
the boot
BOOT Boot anti-theft protection
The boot is designed to remain impreg-
n a b l e , e v e n i n t h e " c a b r i o l e t " c o n fi g u -
ration, if the vehicle is locked.
So, when the vehicle is locked and
the roof is open, the boot cannot be
unlocked:
- by means of the interior door open-ing control,
- by pressing the manual centralised control A , when the key is not in the
ignition switch.
Opening
After unlocking the boot or the
vehicle using the remote control or
the key, pull the handle and raise
the tailgate
When the selective unlocking is acti-
vated, the boot can be opened at
the second press of the unlocking
button on the remote control.
Press this button for more
than two seconds to unlock
the boot. The boot opens
slightly.
This action also unlocks the doors.
If a battery failure occurs, the boot
is locked. Consult a PEUGEOT
dealer.. Closing
Lower the tailgate using the interior
grab handle.
If the tailgate is not closed correctly: - when the engine is running ,
this warning light comes on,
accompanied by a message
on the multi function display
for a few seconds,
- when the vehicle is moving (speed
above 6 mph (10 km/h)), this warn-
ing light comes on, accompanied by
an audible signal and a message on
the multifunction display for a few
seconds.

LAYOUT
Hooked onto the stowing rings, this ena-
bles you to secure your luggage.
Luggage retaining net
Raise the boot carpet to gain access
to the storage box.
Hook the boot carpet on the boot
seal using its handle.
This has areas for storing the windstop
and two warning triangles.
By removing this box you gain access
to the puncture repair kit and the tools.

When the boot screen is unfolded,
check that the luggage:
- never raises it,
- is never placed on top of it.
The load space cover must always
be unfolded before a roof opening
manoeuvre is triggered (refer to the
"Familiarisation - § Opening" section).

g r e e n i s h d e p o s i t ) , r e m o v e t h e m a n d
c l e a n t h e m .

LOAD REDUCTION MODE
System which manages the use of certain
f u n c t i o n s i n r e l a t i o n t o t h e l e v e l o f c h a r g e r e -
m a i n i n g i n t h e b a t t e r y .
W h e n t h e v e h i c l e i s b e i n g d r i v e n , t h e l o a d
r e d u c t i o n f u n c t i o n t e m p o r a r i l y d e a c t i v a t e s
c e r t a i n f u n c t i o n s , s u c h a s t h e a i r c o n d i -
tioning, the neck heaters, the rear screen
d e - i c i n g . . .
T h e d e a c t i v a t e d f u n c t i o n s a r e r e a c t i v a t e d
a u t o m a t i c a l l y a s s o o n a s c o n d i t i o n s p e r m i t .
I t i s a d v i s a b l e t o d i s c o n n e c t t h e
b a t t e r y i f t h e v e h i c l e i s t o b e l e f t u n -
u s e d f o r m o r e t h a n o n e m o n t h . Before disconnecting the
battery
Wait 2 minutes after switching off
the ignition before disconnecting

Close the roof, the windows and
the doors before disconnecting the

Following reconnection of the
battery
