"PORSCHE TIPTRONIC SYSTEM" AUTOMATIC GEARBOX
F o u r o r s i x s p e e d a u t o m a t i c g e a r b o x
which offers a choice between the com-
fort of fully automatic operation, en-
hanced by sport and snow programmes,
or manual gear changing.
Four driving modes are provided:
- automatic operation for electronic
management of the gears by the
g e a r b o x ,
- sport programme for a more dynamic
style of driving,
- snow programme to improve driving
when traction is poor,
- manual operation for sequential
changing of the gears by the driver. Gear lever

- Immobilisation of the vehicle, park- ing brake on or off.
- Starting the engine.
R. Reverse.
- Reversing manoeuvres, vehicle sta- tionary, engine at idle.

SPEED LIMITER
System which prevents the vehicle from
e x c e e d i n g t h e s p e e d p r o g r a m m e d b y
the driver.
When the programmed speed limit is
reached, pressing the accelerator pedal
no longer has any effect.
The speed limiter is switched on man-
ually: it requires a programmed speed
o f a t l e a s t 2 0 m p h ( 3 0 k m / h ) .
The speed limiter is switched off by
manual operation of the control.
The programmed speed can be
e x c e e d e d t e m p o r a r i l y b y p r e s s i n g t h e
a c c e l e r a t o r fi r m l y .
To return to the programmed speed,
simply slow down to a speed below the
programmed speed.
The programmed speed remains in the
memory when the ignition is switched off. The controls of this system are grouped
together on stalk

The speed limiter cannot, in any
circumstances, replace the need
to respect speed limits, nor can it
replace the need for vigilance and
responsibility on the part of the
driver.

CRUISE CONTROL
System which automatically maintains
the speed of the vehicle at the value
programmed by the driver, without any
action on the accelerator pedal.
The cruise control is switched on
manually: it requires a minimum vehicle
s p e e d o f 2 5 m p h ( 4 0 k m / h ) a n d t h e e n -
gaging:
- of fourth gear on the manual gear- b o x ,
- of second gear on the automat- i c g e a r b o x , i n s e q u e n t i a l d r i v i n g
mode,
-
of position D o n t h e a u t o m a t i c g e a r b o x .
The cruise control is switched off man-
ually or by pressing the brake or clutch
pedal or on triggering of the ESP sys-
tem for safety reasons.
I t i s p o s s i b l e t o e x c e e d t h e p r o g r a m m e d
speed temporarily by pressing the ac-
celerator pedal.
To return to the programmed speed,
simply release the accelerator pedal.
Switching off the ignition cancels any
programmed speed value. The controls of this system are grouped
together on lever

PARKING SENSORS
T h i s s y s t e m i n d i c a t e s t h e p r o x i m i t y o f a n
o b s t a c l e ( p e r s o n , v e h i c l e , t r e e , g a t e , e t c . )
w h i c h c o m e s w i t h i n t h e fi e l d o f d e t e c t i o n
of sensors located in the bumper.
Certain types of obstacle (stake, road-
w o r k s c o n e , e t c . ) d e t e c t e d i n i t i a l l y w i l l
no longer be detected at the end of the
manoeuvre due to the presence of blind
spots. This function cannot, in any cir-
cumstances, take the place of the
vigilance and responsibility of the
driver. Rear parking sensors
Audible assistance
T h e p r o x i m i t y i n f o r m a t i o n i s g i v e n b y a
discontinuous audible signal, the fre-
quency of which increases as the ve-
hicle approaches the obstacle.
The sound emitted by the speaker (right
o r l e f t ) i n d i c a t e s t h e s i d e o n w h i c h t h e
obstacle is located.
When the distance between the vehicle
and the obstacle becomes less than ap-
p r o x i m a t e l y t h i r t y c e n t i m e t r e s , t h e a u d i -
ble signal becomes continuous.
The system is switched on by engaging
reverse gear. This is accompanied by
an audible signal.
The system is switched off when you
e x i t r e v e r s e g e a r .
This supplements the audible signal by
displaying segments in the multifunc-
tion screen which move progressively
nearer to the vehicle. When the obsta-
cle is near, the "Danger" symbol is also
displayed in the screen.

CHECKS
CHECKING LEVELS
Check all of these levels regularly and
top them up if necessary, unless other-
wise indicated.
I f a l e v e l d r o p s s i g n i fi c a n t l y , h a v e t h e
corresponding system checked by a
PEUGEOT dealer. Brake fluid level
In addition, as the cooling system is
pressurised, wait at least one hour after
switching off the engine before carrying
out any work.
To avoid any risk of scalding, unscrew
the cap by two turns to allow the pres-
sure to drop. When the pressure has
dropped, remove the cap and top up
the level.
Oil level The reading will only be correct
if the vehicle is on level ground
and the engine has been off for
more than 15 minutes.
The check is carried out either when the
ignition is switched on using the oil level
indicator on the instrument panel, or us-
ing the dipstick. T h e b r a k e fl u i d l e v e l s h o u l d b e
close to the "MAX" mark. If it is
not, check the brake pad wear.
C h a n g i n g t h e fl u i d
Refer to the Warranty and Maintenance
Record for details of the interval for this
operation.
Power steering fluid level T h e p o w e r s t e e r i n g fl u i d l e v e l
should be close to the "MAX"
mark. Unscrew the cap, with the
engine cold, to check the level. Screenwash and headlamp
wash fluid
I n t h e c a s e o f v e h i c l e s fi t t e d
with headlamp washers, the
m i n i m u m l e v e l o f t h i s fl u i d i s
indicated by an audible signal
and a message on the multifunction
screen.
Top up the level when you stop the vehicle.
Engine oil change
Refer to the Warranty and Maintenance
Record for details of the interval for this
operation.
In order to maintain the reliability of the
engine and emission control system,
the use of additives in the engine oil is
prohibited.
O i l s p e c i fi c a t i o n
The oil must correspond to your en-
gine and conform to the manufacturer's
recommendations. F l u i d s p e c i fi c a t i o n

Changing the coolant
The coolant does not have to be
changed.

For optimum cleaning and to avoid
f r e e z i n g , t h i s fl u i d m u s t n o t b e t o p p e d
up with or replaced with plain water.
Coolant level
The coolant level should be
close to the "MAX" mark but
should never exceed it.
When the engine is warm, the tempera-
ture of the coolant is regulated by the fan.
This can operate with the ignition off.

operate after the vehicle has been
s w i t c h e d o f f , e v e n i f t h e e n g i n e i s

The coolant must conform to the manu-
facturer's recommendations.
When working under the bonnet,
take care, as certain areas of the
engine may be extremely hot (risk
of burns).

To speed up the process, the post code can be entered direct ly after selecting the "Postal code" function.
Use the virtual keypad to enter the letters and digits. Select the route type:
"Fast route", "Short route", or " O p t i m i z e d r o u t e " a n d p r e s s O K t o c o n fi r m .
Then select "Start route guidance" a n d t h e p r e s s O K t o c o n fi r m .
