CHANGING A WHEEL
The tools are installed in the boot under
t h e fl o o r .
To gain access to them:
open the boot,
r a i s e t h e fl o o r ,
secure it by hooking its cord on the
hook on the rear shelf support,
r e m o v e t h e p o l y s t y r e n e s t o r a g e b o x ,
u n c l i p a n d r e m o v e t h e b o x c o n t a i n i n g
the tools. A l l o f t h e s e t o o l s a r e s p e c i fi c t o y o u r
vehicle. Do not use them for other
purposes.
1. Wheelbrace.
Permits removal of the wheel trim a n d r e m o v a l o f t h e w h e e l fi x i n g
bolts.
2. Jack with integral handle.
Permits raising of the vehicle.
3. "Bolt cover" tool.
Permits removal of the bolt protectors (covers) on alloy
wheels.

Wheel with trim
When removing the wheel, detach
t h e t r i m fi r s t u s i n g t h e w h e e l b r a c e 1
pulling at the valve passage hole.
W h e n r e fi t t i n g t h e w h e e l , r e fi t t h e
trim starting by placing its notch fac-
ing the valve and press around its
edge with the palm of your hand.
4. Centring guide.
P e r m i t s t h e r e fi t t i n g o f a n a l l o y wheel on the hub.
5. Socket for the anti-theft bolts
( l o c a t e d i n t h e g l o v e b o x ) .
Permits adaptation of the wheelbrace to the special "anti-
theft" bolts.
Procedure for changing a faulty wheel
for the spare wheel using the tools pro-
vided with the vehicle.

Fixing the steel or "space-
saving" type spare wheel
I f y o u r v e h i c l e i s fi t t e d w i t h a l l o y
wheels, it is normal to notice, when
t i g h t e n i n g t h e b o l t s o n fi t t i n g , t h a t t h e
washers do not come into contact
with the steel or "space-saving" type
spare wheel. The wheel is secured
by the conical contact of each bolt.
Access to the spare wheel
The spare wheel is installed in the boot
u n d e r t h e fl o o r .
According to country, the spare wheel may
be steel, alloy or of the "space saving"
type.
To gain access to it, refer to the paragraph
"Access to the tools" on the previous
page.
Taking out the wheel
Unscrew the yellow central bolt.
Raise the spare wheel towards you
from the rear.
Take the wheel out of the boot.
Putting the wheel back in place
Put the wheel back in its housing.
Unscrew the yellow central bolt by a
few turns then put it in place in the
centre of the wheel.
Tighten fully until the central bolt
clicks to retain the wheel correctly.
P u t t h e b o x b a c k i n p l a c e i n t h e
centre of the wheel and clip it.
P u t t h e p o l y s t y r e n e s t o r a g e b o x
back in place.

T h e s p a r e w h e e l i s n o t fi t t e d w i t h
a sensor. The punctured wheel
must be repaired by a PEUGEOT
dealer.

Fixing the steel or "space-
saving" type spare wheel
I f y o u r v e h i c l e i s fi t t e d w i t h a l l o y
wheels, it is normal to notice, when
t i g h t e n i n g t h e b o l t s o n fi t t i n g , t h a t t h e
washers do not come into contact
with the steel or "space-saving" type
spare wheel. The wheel is secured
by the conical contact of each bolt.
Access to the spare wheel
The spare wheel is supported by a
winch system underneath the vehicle.
According to country, the spare wheel may
be steel, alloy or of the "space-saving"
type.
Taking out the wheel
O p e n t h e fl a p w i t h t h e e y e t o r e l e a s e
the winch and access its control
nut.
Unscrew this nut fully, using the
wheelbrace 1 , to unwind the winch
cable.
D e t a c h t h e w h e e l / b o x a s s e m b l y
from the rear of the vehicle.
Take out the hook to release the
w h e e l / b o x a s s e m b l y , i n a c c o r d a n c e
with the illustration.
Take out the black plastic centring
cone.
Take out the wheel to gain access to
t h e b o x .
S l i d e t h e b o x c o v e r t o t h e c e n t r e
and remove it to gain access to the
other tools.

BATTERY
Procedure for charging your battery
w h e n i t i s fl a t o r f o r s t a r t i n g t h e e n g i n e
using another battery.
Access to the battery Starting using another battery
Connect the red cable to the positive
t e r m i n a l ( + ) o f t h e fl a t b a t t e r y A ,
then to the positive terminal (+) of
the slave battery B .
Connect one end of the green or
black cable to the negative terminal
(-) of the slave battery B .
Connect the other end of the green
or black cable to an earth point C on
the broken down vehicle.
Operate the starter, let the engine
run.
Wait until the engine returns to idle
and disconnect the cables.
The battery is located under the bonnet.
To gain access to it:
open the bonnet using the interior
l e v e r , t h e n t h e e x t e r i o r l e v e r ,
secure the bonnet strut,
remove the plastic cover to gain
access to the two terminals,
u n c l i p t h e f u s e b o x t o r e m o v e t h e
battery, if necessary.

TOWING THE VEHICLE
Access to the tools Towing your vehicle
On the front bumper, unclip the
cover by pressing at the bottom.
Screw the towing eye in fully.
Install the towbar.
Switch on the hazard warning lights
on the towed vehicle.
On the rear bumper, unclip the cover
by pressing at the bottom.
Screw the towing eye in fully.
Install the towbar.
Switch on the hazard warning lights
on the towed vehicle.
Towing another vehicle
The towing eye is installed in the boot
u n d e r t h e fl o o r .
To gain access to it:
open the boot,
r a i s e t h e fl o o r ,
secure it by hooking its cord on the
hook on the shelf support,
remove the polystyrene storage
b o x ,
remove the towing eye from the
holder. When towing with all four wheels on
the ground, always use a towbar.
When towing with only two wheels
on the ground, always use profes-
sional lifting equipment.
When towing with the engine off,
there is no longer any braking or
steering assistance.
Place the gear lever in neutral
(position N on the piloted
m a n u a l g e a r b o x o r a u t o m a t i c
g e a r b o x ) .
Failure to observe this special con-
dition could result in damage to
certain braking components and
the absence of braking assistance
t h e n e x t t i m e t h e e n g i n e i s s t a r t e d .
Procedure for having your vehicle towed
or for towing another vehicle using a re-
movable towing eye.

Removable device which prevents the
accumulation of snow at the radiator
cooling fan.
Fitting
Offer up the very cold climate screen
in front of the lower section of the
front bumper.
Press on its periphery to clip its
fi x i n g c l i p s o n e b y o n e .
Do not forget to remove the very
cold climate screen:
- when the outside temperature e x c e e d s 1 0 ° C ,
- when towing,
- at speeds higher than 75 mph (120 km/h).
Removal
Use a screwdriver as a lever to
u n c l i p e a c h fi x i n g c l i p i n t u r n .
