COMFORT
The air conditioning system does
not contain chlorine and does not
present any danger to the ozone
layer.
In order for these systems to be fully effective, follow the o peration and main-
tenance rules below:
If the interior temperature remains very high after the vehicle has been
parked in the sun for a considerable time, do not hesitate t o ventilate the
passenger compartment for a few minutes.
P l a c e t h e a i r fl o w c o n t r o l a t a s u f fi c i e n t l e v e l t o p r o v i d e a n a d e q u a t e r e -
newal of air in the passenger compartment.
T o o b t a i n a n e v e n a i r d i s t r i b u t i o n , t a k e c a r e n o t t o o b s t r u c t t h e e x t e r i o r a i r
intake grilles located at the base of the windscreen, the n ozzles, the vents
a n d t h e a i r o u t l e t s , a s w e l l a s t h e a i r e x t r a c t o r l o c a t e d i n t h e b o o t .
Do not cover the sunshine sensor, located on the fascia; th is is used for
regulation of the air conditioning system.
Operate the air conditioning system for 5 to 10 minutes, on ce or twice a
month to keep it in perfect working order.
E n s u r e t h a t t h e p a s s e n g e r c o m p a r t m e n t fi l t e r i s i n g o o d c o n d i t i o n a n d
h a v e t h e fi l t e r e l e m e n t s r e p l a c e d r e g u l a r l y ( r e f e r t o t h e " C h e c k s " s e c t i o n ) .
W e r e c o m m e n d t h e u s e o f a c o m b i n e d p a s s e n g e r c o m p a r t m e n t fi l t e r . T h a n k s
t o i t s s e c o n d s p e c i a l a c t i v e fi l t e r , i t c o n t r i b u t e s t o t h e p u r i fi c a t i o n o f t h e a i r
breathed by the occupants and the cleanness of the passenger compartment
(reduction of allergic symptoms, bad odours and gre asy deposits).
To guarantee correct operation of the air conditioning syste m, you are also
advised to have it checked regularly.
If the system does not produce cold air, do not use it and contact a PEUGEOT
dealer.
W h e n t o w i n g t h e m a x i m u m l o a d o n a s t e e p g r a d i e n t i n h i g h t e m p e r a t u r e s ,
switching off the air conditioning permits the recovery of engi ne power and
therefore improvement of the towing capacity.
The condensation created by the air conditioning results in a discharge of
water under the vehicle which is perfectly normal.

Hooked onto the stowing rings, this enables
you to secure your luggage.
Raise the boot carpet to gain access

Storage box In order to connect a 12 V accesso-
r y ( m a x p o w e r : 1 0 0 W a t t s ) , r e m o v e
the cap and connect the appropriate
adaptor.
Turn the key to the ignition position.
12 V accessories socket
There are three possible positions:
- fl a t a t t h e b o t t o m o f t h e b o o t ,
- horizontal at the rear shelf,
- vertical at the back of the rear seats.
Movable straps
Hooked onto the stowing rings, they
permit securing of your luggage.

Load space cover
This consists of four sections three of
which can be folded back on each other.
There are several options for storing the
load space cover:
- either folded back on itself near the rear seats (1),
- or folded back on itself and stored in a location provided under the rear
seats (2).
To fold it from the boot:
unclip the load space cover from its
side supports,
take hold of the load space cover by
its handle A ,
fold it concertina-style to the rear
seats.
To unfold it from the boot:
take hold of the load space cover by
its handle A ,
unfold it to the boot pillars,
clip the load space cover on its side
supports. Luggage retaining net
Hooked onto the stowing rings, this enables
you to secure your luggage to the bottom
of the boot.
Hooks
The hooks permit the securing of shop-
ping bags.
Maximum loads
7.5 kg, load space cover unfolded
with high load retaining net at row 2.

Load space screen
To install the load space screen:
position one of the ends of the roller
in its support,
insert the second end in its support;
the catch locks automatically,
unroll the load space screen to the
boot pillars,
insert the load space screen guides
in the rails on the boot pillars.
To store the load space screen, place it
a t t h e b o o t s i l l , r o l l e r u p p e r m o s t a n d fl a p
facing inwards.
To remove the load space screen:
remove the load space screen guides
from the rails on the boot pillars,
roll up the load space screen in its
roller,
pull and support the catch at one of
the ends of the roller to release it,
remove the roller from its support
from the released end, then from the

Hooked onto the stowing rings on the
fl o o r a n d / o r o n t h e l o a d s p a c e s c r e e n
roller, this enables you to secure your
luggage.
You can access the boot by opening
the rear screen and raising the load
s p a c e s c r e e n fl a p .
T h e r o l l e r h a s t w o r i n g s f o r fi x i n g t h e
luggage retaining net depending on
its location.

SAFETY
DIRECTION INDICATORS
Selection of the left or right direction in-
dicators to signal a change of direction
of the vehicle. If you forget to cancel the direc-
tion indicators for more than twenty
seconds, the volume of the audible
signal will increase if the speed is
above 40 mph (60 km/h).
Lower the lights stalk fully when
moving to the left.
Raise the lights stalk fully when
moving to the right.
HAZARD WARNING LIGHTS
A visual warning by means of the direc-
tion indicators to alert other road users
to a vehicle breakdown, towing or ac-
cident.
A s a s a f e t y p r e c a u t i o n i n a t r a f fi c j a m ,
switch on the hazard warning lights if
you are the last in the queue.
Press button A , the direction indica-
t o r s fl a s h .
They can operate with the ignition off.
Automatic lighting of hazard
warning lights
When braking in an emergency, depend-
ing on the deceleration, the hazard warn-
ing lights come on.
They will switch off automatically the
fi r s t t i m e y o u a c c e l e r a t e .
If they do not, press button A to
switch the direction indicators off.
HORN
Press one of the spokes of the steer-
ing wheel.
Use the horn moderately and only
in the following cases:
- immediate danger,
- when overtaking a cyclist or a pedestrian,
- when approaching an area where there is no visibility.
Audible warning to alert other road us-
ers to an imminent danger.

CHANGING A WHEEL
The tools are installed in the boot under
t h e fl o o r .
To gain access to them:
open the boot,
r a i s e t h e fl o o r ,
secure it by hooking its cord on the
hook on the rear shelf support,
remove the polystyrene storage
b o x ,
u n c l i p a n d r e m o v e t h e b o x c o n t a i n -
ing the tools. A l l o f t h e s e t o o l s a r e s p e c i fi c t o y o u r
vehicle. Do not use them for other
purposes.
1. Wheelbrace.
Permits removal of the wheel trim a n d r e m o v a l o f t h e w h e e l fi x i n g
bolts.
2. Jack with integral handle.
Permits raising of the vehicle.
3. "Bolt cover" tool.
Permits removal of the bolt pro- tectors (covers) on alloy wheels.

pulling at the valve passage hole.
W h e n r e fi t t i n g t h e w h e e l , r e fi t t h e
trim starting by placing its notch fac-
ing the valve and press around its
edge with the palm of your hand.
4. Centring guide.
P e r m i t s t h e r e fi t t i n g o f a n a l l o y wheel on the hub.
5. Socket for the anti-theft bolts (lo-
c a t e d i n t h e g l o v e b o x ) .
Permits adaptation of the wheel- brace to the special "anti-theft"
bolts.
Procedure for changing a faulty wheel

CHANGING A WHEEL
Procedure for changing a
faulty wheel for the spare
wheel using the tools pro-
vided with the vehicle.
The tools 1 and 6 are installed in the
boot left-hand side trim.
The tools 2 to 4 a r e i n s t a l l e d i n a b o x ,
in the centre of the spare wheel, placed
underneath the vehicle.
To gain access to them:
open the boot,
o p e n t h e a c c e s s fl a p i n t h e l e f t - h a n d
side trim,
remove the wheelbrace from its sup-
port,
refer to the paragraph "Access to
t h e s p a r e w h e e l " o n t h e n e x t p a g e
to retrieve the other tools.

A l l o f t h e s e t o o l s a r e s p e c i fi c t o y o u r
vehicle. Do not use them for other
purposes.
