GENERAL FUNCTIONS
On / offWith the ignition key in the ACCESSORIES or IGNITION position , press button Ato switch the set on or off.
The set can operate for 30 minutes without the vehicle ign ition being switched on.
Anti theft system
The set is coded in such a way that it can operate only on yo ur vehicle. It would not function if fitted to another vehicle.
The anti theft system is automatic and requires no action on your part.
VOLUME SETTING
Adjusting the volume Turn button Ato increase or reduce the volume.
AUDIO SETTINGS Press the "AUDIO" button several times to access the bass (BASS), treble (TREB), loudness (LOUD), fader
(FAD) and balance (BAL).
Exit from audio mode is automatic after a few seconds without p ressing any button, or by pressing the
"AUDIO" button after adjusting the balance.
Note: bass and treble settings are specific to each source. It is possibl e to set them differently for radio, cas
sette or CD changer.

406 Saloon AUDIO SYSTEM (RM2)
Presentation
Your 406 saloon is fitted with a JBL Audio Hi Fi system, designed specifically for the passenger compartment.
At the heart of the system, a 240 watt multifunction amplifier (1) (located in the boot) independently controls 10 high
acoustic definition speakers.
These speakers provide optimal reproduction and distri bution of the sound in the vehicle, both in the front and th e
rear.
The speakers are situated:
– in the fascia: two Micro Tweeters (3) set into two Mediums (4) for reproduction of the sound in the front.
– in the front doors: two Woofers (2) for reproduction of bass frequencies in the front.
– on the rear parcel shelf: two Tweeters (5) for reproduction of treble (high frequencies) in the rear are set into two ellipti
cal speakers (6), which are adjusted to reproduce a very wide range of bass and u ltra bass frequencies throughout the
whole of the passenger compartment. You will appreciate the clarity and depth and notice that th e sound fills the
whole of the vehicle perfectly.
Adjusting in CD mode
The basic functions remain those of the audio set.
There is no need for any further adjustment. However, in orde r to take
full advantage of your JBL audio system, you are advised to set th e
AUDIO functions (BASS, TREB, FAD, BAL) to position "0"(zero) and
the Loudness (LOUD)to the "ON"position.
