CHANGING THE REMOTE CONTROL BATTERY
Battery ref.: CR1620/3 volts.
To change the battery, unclip the casing
using a coin at the notch.
REPROGRAMMING THE REMOTE CONTROL
Switch off the ignition.
Switch the ignition on again.
P r e s s t h e r e m o t e c o n t r o l l o c k i n g b u t -
ton immediately for a few seconds.
Switch off the ignition and remove
the remote control key from the
ignition lock. The remote control is
now working again.
If the remote control does not work
after the battery has been changed,
r e - p r o g r a m m e t h e r e m o t e c o n t r o l .
ELECTRONIC ENGINE IMMOBILISER
Electronic engine immobiliser
indicator light It is accompanied by a message on
t h e m u l t i - f u n c t i o n d i s p l a y .
Your vehicle will not start.
Consult a PEUGEOT dealer.
Do not discard the batteries,
they contain metals which are
harmful to the environment.
T a k e t h e m t o a n a p p r o v e d c o l -
lection point. T h i s l o c k s t h e e n g i n e c o n t r o l s y s -
tem as soon as the ignition has been
switched off and therefore prevents
starting of the vehicle by anyone who
does not have the key.
The ignition key has an electronic chip
which has a special code. When the
ignition is switched on, the code must be
recognised for starting to be possible.
If the system does not function correctly, the following indicator light comes on: If the keys are lost

T h e P E U G E O T n e t w o r k w i l l b e a b l e t o r e -
trieve the key code and the transponder
code to order a replacement key.
Make a careful note of the
number on each key. The
key number is coded on the
label attached to the key.
If the keys are lost, a PEUGEOT
dealer can rapidly supply you with
new keys.
The high frequency remote control
is a sensitive system; do not ope-
rate it while it is in your pocket as
there is a possibility that it may un-
lock your vehicle, without you being
aware of it.
The remote control does not ope-
rate when the key is in the ignition,
even when the ignition is switched
off, except for reprogramming.
Do not operate the deadlocking
function if there is anyone inside
the vehicle.

key when you leave the vehicle,
even for a short time.
Do not repeatedly press the button
of your remote control out of range
and out of sight of your vehicle.
You run the risk of stopping it from
working and the remote control
would have to be reprogrammed.
When purchasing a second-hand ve-
hicle, have the key codes memorised
by a PEUGEOT dealer to ensure that
the keys in your possession are the
only ones which can start the vehicle.

CHILD LOCK
This prevents opening of both of the
rear doors from the inside.
With the ignition on, press the button.

This system is independent and does
not, in any circumstances, take the
place of the central locking control.
Electric mode
Always remove the ignition
key when leaving the vehicle,
even for a short time.
It is advisable to check that
the child lock is active each time the
ignition is switched on.
In the event of a serious impact, the
e l e c t r i c c h i l d l o c k i s d e a c t i v a t e d a u t o -
matically to permit the exit of the rear
passengers.

ALARM When the alarm is triggered, the siren
sounds and the direction indicator lights
fl a s h f o r a p p r o x i m a t e l y t h i r t y s e c o n d s .
After triggering, the alarm remains set,
ten times in succession.
On the eleventh time it will become
inactive again, until the next cycle of
disarming then setting of the alarm.
Warning: if button A indicator light
fl a s h e s r a p i d l y , t h e a l a r m h a s b e e n
triggered while you were away from
your vehicle.
Note: if the alarm has been triggered
i n y o u r a b s e n c e , t h i s fl a s h i n g s t o p s
when the ignition is switched on. Remote control failure,
alarm set
Unlock the doors with the key and
o p e n t h e d o o r . T h e a l a r m i s t r i g -
gered.
Switch on the ignition. The alarm is
disarmed.

Setting the alarm
Switch off the ignition and get out
of the vehicle.
S e t t h e a l a r m , b y l o c k i n g o r d e a d -
locking using the remote control
(button A i n d i c a t o r l i g h t fl a s h e s
once per second).
If you wish to lock or deadlock your
vehicle without setting the alarm, lock
it (one turn of the key) or deadlock it
( a s e c o n d t u r n w i t h i n fi v e s e c o n d s
maximum) using the lock. Disarming
Unlock the vehicle with the remote
control key.
The alarm is disarmed, indicator light
A
goes out when the ignition is switched on
(unless the alarm has been triggered).
To set the alarm with exterior
protection only
If, while you are away from the vehicle,
you wish to leave a window partially
open or a pet inside the vehicle, you
should choose exterior protection only.
Switch off the ignition,

When the ignition is switched on, if
button
A lights for ten seconds, there
is a fault in the siren connection.
Contact a PEUGEOT dealer to have
the system checked.
Automatic activation *
The alarm is activated automatically
two minutes after the last closure of a
door or the boot.
In order to avoid accidental triggering
of the alarm when a door or the boot
is opened, it is essential to press the
unlocking button on the remote control
again.
When the alarm is set, if a door,
the tailgate or the bonnet is
not closed correctly, the siren
i s t r i g g e r e d b r i e fl y . I f t h e v e h i -
cle is closed correctly within the next
45 seconds, the alarm is set. In all cases,
the alarm is set after 45 seconds.
This provides two types of surveillance:
-
exterior protection: it sounds if
a door, the boot or the bonnet is
opened. - interior protection: it sounds if the
v o l u m e i n s i d e t h e p a s s e n g e r c o m p a r t -
ment changes (breaking of a window
or a movement inside the vehicle).

ELECTRIC WINDOWS
Automatic operation:
To open or close the window, press
or pull switch fully: the window opens
or closes completely when the switch
is released. Pressing the switch again
stops the movement of the window.
The electric window switches remain
operational for approximately one
minute after the key has been removed
from the ignition.
Once this time has elapsed, the electric
windows will not operate. To reactivate
them, switch the ignition on again.
Always remove the key from
the ignition when leaving the
vehicle, even for a short time.
I n t h e e v e n t o f c o n t a c t d u r i n g o p e r a -
tion of the windows, you must reverse
the movement of the window. To do
this, press the switch concerned.
W h e n t h e d r i v e r o p e r a t e s t h e p a s s e n -
ger electric window switches, he must
e n s u r e t h a t n o o n e i s p r e v e n t i n g c o r -
rect closing of the windows.
T h e d r i v e r m u s t e n s u r e t h a t t h e p a s s e n -
gers use the electric windows correctly.
Be aware of children when operating
the windows. REINITIALISATION OFTHE WINDOWS
F o l l o w i n g r e c o n n e c t i o n o f t h e b a t -
t e r y , t h e s a f e t y a u t o - r e v e r s e f u n c t i o n
m u s t b e r e i n i t i a l i s e d : t h e s a f e t y a u t o -
reverse function is not active during
these operations.
- l o w e r t h e w i n d o w c o m p l e t e l y , t h e n raise it, it will rise in steps of a few
centimetres each time the switch is
p r e s s e d . R e p e a t t h e o p e r a t i o n u n -
til the window closes completely,
- c o n t i n u e t o p r e s s t h e s w i t c h f o r a t least one second after reaching
this position, window closed.
Safety auto-reverse
When the window rises and meets an
o b s t a c l e , i t s t o p s a n d i m m e d i a t e l y p a r -
tially lowers again.
In the event of unwanted opening of the
w i n d o w o n c l o s i n g , p r e s s t h e s w i t c h u n -
til the window opens completely, then
pull the switch immediately until the
window closes. Continue to hold the
switch for approximately one second
after the window has closed.
T h e s a f e t y a u t o - r e v e r s e f u n c t i o n i s n o t
active during this operation.
Disarming the rear window
controls
For the safety of your children, press
switch 5 to prevent operation of the rear
windows irrespective of their position.
When the button is pressed down, the
s w i t c h e s a r e d i s a r m e d . W h e n t h e b u t -
ton is raised, the switches are active.
Manual operation:
To open or close the window, press or
pull the switch gently. The window stops
as soon as the switch is released.
1. Driver's electric window
switch.
2. Passenger's electric window
switch.
3. Rear right electric window
switch.
4. Rear left electric window
switch.
5. Disarming of the rear electric
window switches (child lock).

Notes:
After reconnecting the battery, you must
r e i n i t i a l i s e t h e s a f e t y a u t o - r e v e r s e :
- p l a c e t h e c o n t r o l i n t h e m a x i m u m partial opening position (3rd notch
to the right),
- w a i t u n t i l t h e r o o f i s i n t h e m a x i - mum partially open position,
- p r e s s t h e c o n t r o l f o r a t l e a s t o n e second.
In the event of unwanted opening of
the roof on closing (for example, in the
presence of ice), and immediately after
the roof stops:
- m o v e t h e c o n t r o l t o t h e " O " p o s i t i o n and press the control immediately,
- c o n t i n u e t o p r e s s t h e c o n t r o l u n t i l the roof is fully closed. SUNROOF (SALOON) Always remove the key from
the ignition when leaving the
vehicle, even for a short time.
In the event of contact during
operation of the roof, you must reverse
the movement of the roof. To do this,
press the switch concerned.
When the driver operates the roof
switch, he must ensure that no one is
preventing correct closing of the roof.
T h e d r i v e r m u s t e n s u r e t h a t t h e p a s -
sengers use the sunroof correctly.
Be aware of children when operating
the roof.
- T o p a r t i a l l y o p e n t h e r o o f : T u r n t h e switch to the right (three possible
settings).
- T o o p e n t h e r o o f c o m p l e t e l y : T u r n the switch to the left (six possible
settings).
- T o c l o s e i t c o m p l e t e l y : T u r n t h e switch back to position "O".
- S a f e t y a u t o - r e v e r s e : W h e n t h e sunroof is closing and meets an
obstacle, it stops then partially
opens again.
The sunroof shutter is manual.
